miserableoldgit Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Radio 5 reporting that Zola has been sacked by West Ham. What next I wonder?
stevegrant Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Lots of sums of 2 being added together to make 25, I expect...
S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Wasn't the story a while back suggesting that Pard's would only be appointed if they were relegated? i can see them going for a ''bigger'' name myself. They'll want to make a big statement imo.
trousers Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Edmonds: "We have Nicola from Southampton on the line. You want to swap Pardew for who....?"
ottery st mary Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 The Echo and Solent radio will have already sorted it out.....The little scallys

miserableoldgit Posted 11 May, 2010 Author Posted 11 May, 2010 Lots of sums of 2 being added together to make 25, I expect... Probably right! I hope!
Foxstone Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Wasn't the story a while back suggesting that Pard's would only be appointed if they were relegated? i can see them going for a ''bigger'' name myself. They'll want to make a big statement imo. Bigger name and indeed a bigger girth like Greenback for example ! Far more industrial units available in the East End perhaps

They'll want to make a big statement imo. Possibly but they are almost as strapped for cash as Poopey. I suppose it depends who they can afford.
S-Clarke Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Possibly but they are almost as strapped for cash as Poopey. I suppose it depends who they can afford. Wouldn't suprise me - they are being run by the same two guys who said ''we're financialy in a mess'' then 1 week later come out and say ''we want to spend 100,000 p/w on a striker'' !
Psycrow Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Radio 5 reporting that Zola has been sacked by West Ham. What next I wonder? Next they'll probably hire another manager. Surely this isn't Saints related when there is simply a rumour machine saying our manager MIGHT be losing his job that is based on no fact whatsoever
saintrich Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 My West Ham supporting boss seems to think Mark Hughes will be the new Hammers manager.
trousers Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Surely this isn't Saints related when there is simply a rumour machine saying our manager MIGHT be losing his job that is based on no fact whatsoever The 'Saints related' forum would be a little sparse if all wild rumours were banned...
Psycrow Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 If AP left Zola would be a good replacement What do you base that on?
miserableoldgit Posted 11 May, 2010 Author Posted 11 May, 2010 Next they'll probably hire another manager. Surely this isn't Saints related when there is simply a rumour machine saying our manager MIGHT be losing his job that is based on no fact whatsoever The very fact that the rumour is there makes it Saints related.
Psycrow Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 The 'Saints related' forum would be a little sparse if all wild rumours were banned... Rumours are rumours and though I don't agree with the ****e that's going around the board at the moment, they have a right to be here. This is completely unrelated however. A man got fired from another club. Its no more relevant to Saints than Phil Brown leaving Hull or any other manager leaving any other club. It doesn't matter what club is involved All it does is stoke flames.
Arizona Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Radio 5 reporting that Zola has been sacked by West Ham. What next I wonder? They appoint Paul Lambert, Danny Wilson, Alan Curbushley, Glenn Roeder, Lee Clark, Phil Parkinson or Simon Grayson?
Psycrow Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 They appoint Paul Lambert, Danny Wilson, Alan Curbushley, Glenn Roeder, Lee Clark, Phil Parkinson or Simon Grayson? Surely not! None of them manage Southampton!!! Or maybe, just maybe, they appoint Avram Grant... the favourite for the job at the moment. And we all know how accurate the bookies are. Pardew seems to have been fired when Ladbrookes stopped taking bets on that market!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 What do you base that on? Has some management experience now, both seasons he has been successful (imo) Great job last season and a good job this year (under circumstances) A young, hungry well connected manager. What more do you need in L1?
miserableoldgit Posted 11 May, 2010 Author Posted 11 May, 2010 Rumours are rumours and though I don't agree with the ****e that's going around the board at the moment, they have a right to be here. This is completely unrelated however. A man got fired from another club. Its no more relevant to Saints than Phil Brown leaving Hull or any other manager leaving any other club. It doesn't matter what club is involved All it does is stoke flames. The rumour is that Alan Pardew (who is SOUTHAMPTON manager) MAY be lined up to take Zolas place. How is that NOT Saints related?? Was he rumoured to be going to Hull?? No. There was a thread on here when the rumour was that he might be going to Celtic, although I suppose that that wasn`t Saints related either.
SaintNeil90 Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Surely not! None of them manage Southampton!!! Or maybe, just maybe, they appoint Avram Grant... the favourite for the job at the moment. I think I would know if they had one, I do work there.
Hatch Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 I have it on good authority, that Whoever West Hams new manager is, they will make signing Pulis their top priority.
Psycrow Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 You mean the market that never existed? I think I would know if they had one, I do work there. That was my point.... I don't believe it either. But people will ignore that Pardew isn't the automatic favourite for the WH job with the bookies when it suits them, while swearing on the bookies knowledge on Pardew being fired with the next breath
aintforever Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 I seriously doubt West Ham will be desperate to land League 1's 7th best manager.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 I have it on good authority, that Whoever West Hams new manager is, they will make signing Pulis their top priority. A horrible image of a rosy-cheeked Tory in a tracksuit sporting the initials 'RL' just popped into my mind...
iansums Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Not sure if this is posted elsewhere: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/8674605.stm Could this mean AP is on his way to West Ham as others have suggested?

chrisobee Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted at least twice already I believe ( visit The Lounge/General Sports)
Micky Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Strangely a certain Mark Hughes appears amongst the favourites for the position.
fish fingers Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 my taxi driving East enders mate has already dropped off a new track suit at Upton Park with the initials AP sewn on. Thats the new Alan Partridge range
trousers Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted at least twice already I believe ( visit The Lounge/General Sports) Nope, I've checked and can't see any other Zola threads
chrisobee Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Nope, I've checked and can't see any other Zola threads Really ?? Specsavers?
miserableoldgit Posted 11 May, 2010 Author Posted 11 May, 2010 my taxi driving East enders mate has already dropped off a new track suit at Upton Park with the initials AP sewn on. Andy Pandy??

Legod Third Coming Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Shame. I predict he will go on to be a very good manager.
Arizona Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 The rumour is that Alan Pardew (who is SOUTHAMPTON manager) MAY be lined up to take Zolas place. How is that NOT Saints related?? Was he rumoured to be going to Hull?? No. There was a thread on here when the rumour was that he might be going to Celtic, although I suppose that that wasn`t Saints related either. The rumour being someone on here going, "OMFG West Ham are sh*t, they're going to sack Zola and bring in the 7th best manager in League 1 who was sacked by a different boad 3 years ago."
Gorgiesaint Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 The Moose (Ian Abrahams) on Talksport who has good contacts inside Upton Park reckons Avram Grant will be unveiled next week.
chrisobee Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 Grant odds on at around 4/7 to take over followed by Hughes, Bilic and Curbishley with surprise, surprise AP not far behind ( as short as 10/1 at Hills).
dubai_phil Posted 11 May, 2010 Posted 11 May, 2010 The Moose (Ian Abrahams) on Talksport who has good contacts inside Upton Park reckons Avram Grant will be unveiled next week. I think he should start the job of rebuidling WHU straight away. In fact he should start work tomorrow
