Pardew and board to meet Thursday now...?

Maybe Cortese has simply cottoned onto the reality that teams in lower leagues are more often than not promoted when they have 'lower league managers' rather than 'higher league managers' that have dropped down a league it two?

Just a thought, mind you...

Yeah but Pards has been a lower league manager and been successful in getting promoted. Cotterill was bo**ocks when he tried his hand further up the ladder at Sunderland and managed a staggering 3.5 years at the mighty Burnley.

Its 10.50am, if Pards was being sacked, it would have happened by now in my opinion, ala Zola yesterday!!!

Constructive meeting in progess hopefully!!!

LOL, do you realise how daft that comment is? So if Pardew was going to sacked it would have been done ages ago, i.e yesterday. There is a meeting today apparently so if the upshot is that Pardew is getting sacked it'll hardly be out of line with Zolas dismissal yesterday.

It's my view that if AP is to be sacked it'll happen today.

No I meant Zola was called into board meeting and left 5 mins later. Thought it would same for Pards....still hoping for normaility anyway

How ridiculous it would be to sack a manager that managed to get 83 points in a season even though the team he was managing failed to any decent amount of points for the first couple of months. I wonder how many points he'll manager with a fit squad high on morale. I'd be surprised if it would be less than 90.

If he is sacked - can only be for things that we arent aware of ie the personal realationship between NC and AP , which means they wont be able to work together through the 5 yr plan. On a footballing basis alone it makes no sense in the short term - we are well set to get promotion next year, changing the manager may improve us , but also as likley , if not more, to set us back in the short term at least.

This whole situation is completely bonkers and getting worse....

Look, AP hasnt been fired, or we would know about it. If it happens, it happens, life goes on, FFS. He's not Alex-F**king-Ferguson.....

Its clear than ML and NC are not going to play patsy with hysterical fans or a malicious media, so give it up and stop getting stressed about it.

Well its now half 12 and we've heard nothing.

That to me is good news. Like someone said earlier, if AP was going to be sacked then the meeting would have lasted 15 mins tops IMO.

The longer the day goes on, I am more confident that this has been blown out of all proportion, and that the daily fail is going to look very stupid

Thread ends??? ;)

Start a rumour, finish a rumour and we all blame NC for not responding to something that isn't even happening !!

I wasnt sure if the said St Marys but it sounded like Pardew job is not under threat but I couldnt be sure and then they went on to talk about Fulham. Did anyone else hear this or am I going mad?

SSN had a headline yesterday that Saints had parted company wth their manager. However, it seems that it was St Mirren.

All very Swiss keeping all the cards close to their chests, send out info on a need to know basis and sending out the barest minimum. I would imagine that if it was a done deal it would have been out by now. However with all the players having been given their training packages for the summer break, with Rickie adding if it ain't done they will be found out, if AP knew he was destined for the door would he have even bothered to have set this regime in place.

We live in a football world where sackings and dismissals have become a spectator sport driven by the media so a none story from back in the very early spring seems to have been through the recycler marked "Chinese Whispers additions".

It would be nice to get a statement from the Football Club, but I think we will be waiting quite a while.

I suggest we latch onto Solent's latest 'Tweet' by way of revenge...

Exam 1 finished. The camera crew have left and no sign of anyone remotely important. Oh and just to clarify I'm not a student, these are professional exams for honest tax-paying nerds

You must have been a student at some point to end up in Accountancy? Did you notice an attractive young blonde lady in your exam?

Anyway, in this one instance, I shall keep my opinions to myself. Hope you done well in it... xxxxx

Sorry but I don't agree. If I was NC I wouldn't react to every wild and wacky rumour that you lot, the press and every uncle Tom Cobbly starts. If he did he'd be doing nothing else and not getting any proper work done - like running the club.

Whilst I suppose in theory there's nothing wrong with speculating on a board like this, the hysteria on this issue is just ridiculous.

Rant over

So then nothing was happening.... daily echo did the whole pardew to be sacked thing and solent did the meeting thing. Hopefully now these two will do some better researching next time. We are our own worst enemies, we look for things that are not there and over analyse everything that is reported. Enjoy the summer!

I agree with what you are saying but a Statement regarding how he feels we are doing against the plan would possibly a good idea

Good Communications would really be a good idea surely or do we have to wait until August
