Ewell Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 Yeah, cos Idiakez was reall crap wasn't he?! Idiot!! Are you for real? You are certainly the only person I have heard who has implied Idiakez was decent for us. One of the worst players we have had since relegation in 2003. Totally pedestrian and people slag off Wotten! st alex Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 on OS site http://www.seagulls.co.uk/page/Latest/0,,10433~2047039,00.html Odd how many times Poyet manages to say 'Southampton' in one statement, sounds quite bitter, and possibly an attempt to scupper the deal by making our transfer dealings public? NickG Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 poyet I want to thank Calde because he helped us a lot. "Unfortunately I'm very disappointed because he has chosen to wait for an offer from Southampton and not to sign for us with everything agreed. "The disappointment is big. Everything was agreed. "It was only the contract to sign but he decided to wait for a possible offer from another club in this division. "The club is Southampton, who we cannot compete with. "We clarified a few weeks ago that if somebody thinks we are the Chelsea or Manchester City in the division, we are not. That is Southampton. "If they are going to buy the players and pay more than the rest there is nothing we can do about it. "We have withdrawn the offer. "We don't accept players agreeing contracts and not signing. "We are a proper club and he had until midnight yesterday but the offer is gone and he is not going to be our player. "I can promise you that. Bailey Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 Spoken to a couple of Brighton supporting mates. They are gutted that we're on the verge of signing Inigo. Their 'best player' according to the Seagulls' fans that I've spoken with. Surely this signals that Pardew's future is very much with Southampton too!? Would love a statement from the club to clarify the situation.

saint_stevo Posted 8 May, 2010 Share Posted 8 May, 2010 um- For what it's worth, was in the pub with a relatively junior employee of the club after the game just after the news broke, and he phoned a more senior employee of the club for confirmation. So the deal must have been a fairly closely guarded secret. Seems that the whole 'hip injury' thing was a smokescreen designed to put Southampton off the trail. But they didn't fall for it. Reckon the player was ill-advised to join in the lap of honour - and the news broke literally about two minutes after the lap had safely cleared H Block where the player was enthusiastically shaking hands with fans. Cynical or what? Good luck to the boy, bear him no ill-will whatsoever. But the club could have handled it better. __________________

Absolutely love watching him play football, i think he's the most exciting player i've seen in the Stripes, so composed on and off the ball, plenty of flair, watching his performances he loves playing with the ball to feet and just does it all with consummate ease. The goal against Charlton was just superb. Honestly hope he's still here for a few years to come.'' good stuff

dune Posted 9 May, 2010 Share Posted 9 May, 2010 It's fantastic that we're now in a position to sign players and pay their wages at the start of the close season.
