doubleonothing Posted 6 May, 2010 Author Share Posted 6 May, 2010 Have to say based on the fall out from the debates I don't think many thought the Lib Dems would make losses I'm watching the channel 4 coverage for a bit. LGTL Posted 6 May, 2010 Share Posted 6 May, 2010 I'm gonna have a w4nk. Why? Brown is hated, it wouldn't be a great result for the Tories. SuperMikey Posted 6 May, 2010 Share Posted 6 May, 2010 Don't think Lib Dems will make a loss, even if the exit poll suggests otherwise. Can't see a Conservative majority either, it's still got to be a hung parliament for me.

The swing in 1997 must have been huge to go from a Tory government to a Labour landslide... Those figures on the exit polls fly in the face of every other poll that has been conducted over the last three weeks, and indeed of general common sense. Surely there's no way the Lib Dems will lose seats today.

I would be interested to know how we all voted (or not)? I spoilt my paper (wrote 'none of the below') and sent it in. Mrs h won't mind me telling you all that she simply wripped hers in two and went straight round to the post box around the corner and I believe that she now holds the World record for someone voting in an election. Breach of Rule 2, but then again you could cite Rule 1 in your defence, so I'll let it go this time. I AM proud, I defend my right to vote however I so wish and I would defend YOUR right to do the same with my life dune. Why not ask the reason for me spoiling my paper? FWIW I am not going to tell you now anyway. No disrespect but I know exactly how you feel, you should have heard my own view on NOT voting Labour 4 years ago. Something has changed and I have changed. I feel that I have seen the way forward for society and it does not involve any politician that walks this mortal soil. It is actually THEM in power who are the problem. My message is in no way aimed at the smaller parties, who I would dearly like to hear speak in my parliament, I like to listen to everyone's arguments. My message is to whoever wins, and that includes any hung parliament. I want nothing more to do with them and I just wanted to let them know in the best way I can in my very humble opinion of course. I need the tory vote to hold up in the sth, based on polls of lib con marginals theres little swing, good for the tories in the seats they cling to, but thats just looking on the bright side, the lid dem surge in the sth has made the cons really needing to win true red seats that are one term gains at best

stevegrant Posted 6 May, 2010 Share Posted 6 May, 2010 like i said..even with 307 seats...would be the biggest swing for 80 years... They did clarify earlier that this would be a similar swing to the one Thatcher achieved in 1979 (about 5%), but about half what Blair achieved in 1997. The 80 years thing is that it would be the highest quantity of Tory seats for 80 years.

Wes Tender Posted 7 May, 2010 Share Posted 7 May, 2010 Exit Poll looks pretty spot on now doesn't it? Abslutely amazingly accurate. Just 2 up on what the Conservatives actually got, Labour got 3 more than predicted and the Lib/Dems two less than predicted. There are still two results yet to be declared apparently, so it could be even closer. When the exit poll results were shown at 10 pm last night, people were amazed at the Lib/Dem prediction, but it seems that it was actually over optimistic.
