For a moment I thought it was the Stephen "jippo" Hunt at Hull- then again he was terrible for Reading the 2nd half of last season (especially against us).

We don't really need another Left-back TBH, if we have Harding and then Mills as back-up.

I'd say our left back spot is the strongest we have in the team with Mills and Harding. I wouldn't say we need another left back.

I like the right footed Harding idea people have though, we need a reliable right back. If only we could reverse the ageing process with Murty - sadly I don't think he'll be seeing another season with us...

We can do a lot better than Murty IMO, he wasn't all that at the start of the season.

I used to watch the academy at Staplewood a few years back - He was in the same youth team when Gillett was the captain

He looked average at best

We were in the Prem at the time & he was clearly never going to reach that standard, to be honest I'm surprised he even forged a professional career

I thought he looked very handy, especially in this League, looked ok going forward and could defend.......which are two qualitites that our right backs have struggled to master this season. Pity he was injured for most of it, his experience as well was very good for the younger players.

Having said that, yeah we should be able to do better, but thats no disrespect to Murty.

got to love this forum:D

I am assuming the 'quality' comment was from somebody assuming we were talking about Hull's Stephen Hunt?

In fact, just re read and they even posted to say that.

No that was Benjii who was mistaken. I was quoting Saint Donvan who went to school with the Notts county version.

Stephen is quality, plus i went to school with him at millbrook so it would be nice to have a local lad in the squad

Used to watch him play when i was younger and watching my mate....must have been U11's or similar and Stephen was playing for Forest Fields (later Test Wood) and was known as 'Fluffy'. He stood out like a sore thumb back then, was head and shoulders above everyone, not seen him play since mind

Ok, so that's a sort of 'quality compared to the rest of us' type comment.

Basically, anybody who goes on to have any kind of professional football career was usually head and shoulders and more above anybody else at school level. I'm sure he was quality when they were at school together.

Can't we just sign Hulls Stephen Hunt?
