That's handy because I'm about to embark on a pub crawl across the east end of London. I may just about be sober by the tournament.

I cannot ref or run the line, but give me a time and I shall be there. after all I do owe you big time.

 

Although I've not kicked a ball (or opposing player) in anger soince the forum match 2009, maybe I could be like a reserve reserve for any team that is short on playres?

seriously Depp's if you live where you said you live, then you are on. I have promised to take mrs h to a car booty in the morning, but after dinner i am all yours.

 

Just checked and see that it starts AM! I will try to trade the Sunday car boot for the Shootash one on Saturday and get back to to you.

Mine's normally pushing my hips forward so it doesn't drip on my feet.

Team SWF - are you all ready and have full details of what time to be at Fleming Astro etc on Sunday morning? I will have a hangover as my Brother is getting married on Saturday and celebrations will go on long into the night.

 

To confirm - please wear Yellow and Baj is Captain.

 

Please all bring your fiver entry money - Minibarcelona may or not be playing, please can you confirm?

Do you remember that thread by some chap looking to rent and wanting recomendations about certain areas? You PM'ed me about why I knew so much about the area in question, my answer prompted you to divulge where you were working at the time (you may of course have been lieing).

 

I also seem to remember a thread about public houses in a certain area of Soton and I hinted that I drank in one particular pub, you threatened to stalk me as you also drank there (you may of course have been lieing).

 

If you really do want a lift then PM me. We can meet at a neutral location if you are concerned what your neaighbours might think seeing you climb into the back of a bright yellow convertible. I will btw have the hood down so do not put too much time and effort into your coiffure.

I had that same thought. How about... 9am, Wagon Works for a big Fry Up and 5 pints of Dublins finest Dry Stout before we head for flemming Park for a day of football...? Lol.

 

Seriously though, we kinda need a spot to meet cuz I don't wanna look a right lemon keep walking round asking everyone if there S-W. How about... Just by the window of the Swimming Pool that faces the Road? Any better idea's welcomed. Lol.

Ok, just re-read the message from Rich - registration needs to be competed by 10.45 and all monies paid so do you think meeting earlier Mike? I may be later than you lot depending on how late the wedding goes on for but you know where to register.

a fixture update...

 

we now KO at 11am v Argentina indoors

next game is 12pm v Holland outside then we play Israel at 1pm on the same pitch

at 1:40 we are back indoors playing England.

 

Indoors is to be 5 a side with a 2 min rolling sub

Sorry I didn't make it. Working nights for so long I came home early last night to try and get to sleep sooner... But i couldn't nod off. Is there any way I can donate to the tourny online? Hope the other keeper done ya proud and that at the time of writing, your still playing because that would mean you've progressed.

They are through to the quarters at the minute - knock out stages. You can't donate online but you can send my late friends Mum a cheque to contribute to the total raised. I can PM you the address if you like, let me know.

We lost 4-0 in the semi final to holland, who went on to win the tournament by beating favourites argentina in the final.

Well we enjoyed it and raised money for charity, so all's well in the end. :D

 

In the Group stages;

 

Chilie didn't turn up, so that was a nice easy 3 points to get us started.

 

The first game was indoors against the Argies. That game was abandoned due to a frozen pitch.

 

The second game was outdoors against the Dutch. We found our selves 3-0 fairly rapidly but looked the better team in a goalless second half.

 

The third game was against Israel. They were dirty b**tards and seemed to shout "handball" every time we took a touch. 1-0 down at half time, myself and Spades then set each other up to give us a 2-1 win.

 

Fourth game was against England indoors. Israel had already played their games and only got 1 point, sending them and Chilie out and rendering this game pretty much irrelevant. A good job too. The9 gave us a 1-0 lead but we ended up losing 4-1.

 

Into the knockouts, we were up against Group A winners Italy. We took a shock 1-0 lead through Robsk and celebrated fairly vocally, much to the amusement of the watching Spain team. Second half we slipped to 2-1 down before goals from MINIBARCELONA SAINT and someone else gave us a 3-2 win.

 

Semi final we went 1-0 down to the Dutch first half and ended up losing 4-0. We then told the England team where to shove their third place playoff and went home.

The "someone else" who got the winner in the QF was Ben, though as is traditional in these matters, I didn't bother asking anyone's usernames :)

 

I already knew who JustMike, Baj, Spades, Arizona, Robsk II and MiniBarcelonaSaint were, so who were t'others.

 

There were cameos in a watching capacity from Michelle and Mornington Crescent too, thy pitched up quite late on.

 

And yes, Mini, I DID mean it ! :D
