Quality !! Good Man !!

Thought it was great too when he said "tough for Palace today - 10 points etc etc and i brought there best player Fonte"

Why are the Sheff Wed fans looking so upset - don't they realise they get to play us next seson?

Surely this is every Club's dream?

Who could want for more?

That's how i'm consoling all my Sheff Wed supporting friends. It's going down well at the moment.

Would rather Palace went down TBH, they would have had a massive fire sale in summer and been nowhere next season.

That may still happen. They owe Simon Jordan 20m and Selhurst Park is owned by Lloyds Bank (rent 1.2m per year).

Sheffield Wednesday could be a very big challenge to our promotion chances next season.

There is talk of investment for them too. . .

Lets face it there will be good sides in our league next year come what may

because there will still be 3 of the 6 sides currently above us plus the relegated sides plus the dark horses.

We"ll still walk it though as long as we have the nucleus of this year's first eleven available most of the time.

Great that bbc paid Pardew to go on scouting mission , good result as palarse are skint & sheff wed might be up for selling anyone that is half decent to saints

:-s

I wanted Palace to go down. Wednesday and Plymouth could be tricky next season and I don't want to end up in the lottery of the playoffs. I'm just praying Leeds go up.

Could be a pretty tricky game next year, a lot depends on what happens with their interested ''parties''. It's nice to have another ''big'' club in the league though, takes some of the expectation and pressure off of us.

if nothing happens with their takeover, then they will still be 21m in debt - so you'll see the likes of Tuguy/Grant/Beevers move on to raise funds.

I still think that on our day, we would beat the current Wednesday team anyway - we could hold our own against most champ sides.

Definitely put in a cheeky bid for Mark Beevers and Tommy Spurr, quality centre backs and still plenty of time for them to develop into great players. Is Jeffers worth a go as well?

The Janners are in a terrible state and my Janner mate fears for a repeat performance next season.

i wouldn't touch jeffers with a barge pole, awful player IMO.

Spurr is primarily a LB - and has been slated by their fans all season, their lloyd james i guess.

Beevers is a good player though.

they are skint....they have a sh1t pitch..but they are supposed to be getting "investment" also...

but that has been on the cards for ages..

isn't that investment supposed to be coming from Asia? that's been going on for years!

Well relegation is hardly going to spring them into action when it comes to investment.

Played for England though, you don't just wander into the England team without having a modicum of talent in your body. Obviously Heskey is the exception to that rule. Jeffers has never got into double figures for a season though, so maybe we'll give that one a miss...

Spurr is still pretty young, only 19 I think. We are pretty sorted for LB though, with Harding in his mid-20s and Mills about to turn 20 soon.

Also, what about James O'Connor from them?

Reliable CM, good defensive play but dangerous on the attack too. Very solid, would be an excellent signing imo.

I don't care who is in the league next year.

Whoever it is will not have the funds, infrastructure and draw that we do.

Have so say wednesday look poor should be easy 6 points next year from them

we have shocking record at their place, 2-0 and 5-0 last two seasons. And the 3-3 where crossley scored... the view is crap at hillsborough too.

I have a 100% record at Hillsborough.

Glad Palace stayed up. Always had a bit of a soft spot for them.

Wednesday are £25 million in debt so unless they get some new backers in it will be more an exercise in cost cutting this summer than squad building.

Jeez you read that article and say yet another little prayer that we don't have "absentee owners"

Certainly won't come back for the Wednesday Away game next season. Bstds put me in hospital last time I went there split my head open with a large metal object chucked from upstairs. Would have understood it if we'd actually not lost

Pards should put a cheeky bid in for Paddy McCarthy.

I thought he was a brick wall today.

Glad for Palace though.

He was praising him today, and he's also one of pard's previous players (he had him at Charlton)

wouldn't surprise me at all if we went for him.

The usual garbage about population and potential from delusional Plymouth fans.

10,000 gates in the Championship is not much potential and crowing about how their city is bigger than Derby, Leicester or Southampton is pretty meaningless, as those three clubs have double the core support as all three commanded 20,000 gates in L1.

Presumably PAFC will be down to 8,000 odd in L1.

You can't just wait for promotion to the Prem and suddenly expect 30,000 to come streaming through the turnstiles.

The same thing has been said about Bristol for time immemorial.

Maybe, if one of them got into the Prem and stayed there for a half a decade, they might have a sustainable Saints-Derby-Forest-Leicester-Wolves sized fan base.

But it's a long road.

Having just read that, and witnessed the goings on up the road, I would be very worried if I was a Janner fan. Straight out of the 'Pompey Book Of Corporate Governance'!

All these investors can see are two things.

Profit from loaning the club money (football debt) and longer term profit from having parcelled up, and owning, the surrounding land. Not an ounce of thought for the football club or it's fans. (Give me a few thousand years and I may even start to feel sorry for Corporate Ho).

Bastards!

Ah yes, but you miss the point.

This is all part of the FAPL's evil scheme. Ensure that the money attracts but then ensure that all the clubs lose their grounds to Property Developers.

That starts the disconnect with the local community.

from that moment it is but one more step for the displaced clubs to become Franchises being sold to the highest bidders in Asia IPL style.

All the teams allocated by Demographics rather than history, lots of platitudes that no fan is ever more than 1 hour's drive from PL football, a Dual League Conference style system with Playoffs, a SuperBowl, draft picks and no relegation, just more and more MONEY MONEY MONEY.

The (Former) Directors of PCFC won't be the last lunatics proven to have been running the Asylum

Talk of investment?? Thats what we said 3 years ago - remember Paul Allen gate. We are in a different league from SWFC in terms of ££

This season weve had Norwich, Leeds and Charlton to contend with, and lets face it they could all go up. Replace them with Plymouth, Posh, and SWFC and weve got far less competitors.

Saints never start well but by October/November we'll be top and thats where we'll stay.

Clever tactics by AP !!
