Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Southampton: Kelvin Davis, Jon Otsemobor, Aaron Martin, Jose Fonte, Jospeh Mills, Dean Hammond, Lloyd James, Adam Lallana, Jason Puncheon, Lee Barnard, David Connolly We can still win. And win well.
saint lard Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 A few changes made, hopefully should still have enough to come away with something. Going to be tough i suspect as Gillingham have alot to play for. Pre season starts here, imo. COYS
latter day saint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Ricky gets a rest a last! might as well now.hope Aaron Martin has a good game. COYS!!
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Great atmosphere from both sets of fans by the sounds of it.
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Connolly on the edge of the penalty area, volleys it just wide.
St Landrew Posted 1 May, 2010 Author Posted 1 May, 2010 Gillingham very awake. Saints with the usual slumbers. Saying that, Connolly nearly volleys home.
saint lard Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Connolly shot just goes wide. Exciting start by both sides apparently.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Gills penalty shouts turned down. Commentator gave it though, fortunately for us the ref didn't.
Minty Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Everything points towards this being a cracker. 0-0 result then...
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Indeed. Martin is "hesistant". To be expected really.
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Do-or-die match for James IMO. Disagree, I think he's near guaranteed to stay as back up.
benjii Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Disagree, I think he's near guaranteed to stay as back up. For what position though? CM? I sincerely hope we're signing another CM so he would be fourth or fifith choice if that's the case. At RB we currently have three better options, although admittedly Murty might deceide to hang up the boots. I think a move would be good for him.
latter day saint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Lots of pressure down Sem's side.no surprise there.
Danish Saint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Would rather call it a do-or-die match for Wotton (if he comes on), Otsemobor and Connolly. They are all playing for a new contract.
farawaysaint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Disagree, I think he's near guaranteed to stay as back up. Earlier in the season Pardew was singing his praises and going on about his potential. I'm sure he'll be around.
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Earlier in the season Pardew was singing his praises and going on about his potential. I'm sure he'll be around. Indeed, I seem to remember an interview where he said James was one of the best passers of the ball he'd worked with.

Not sure that it's the case for Wotton (or James for that matter) Think they're both here next year unless they get another club.
dubai_phil Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 If you get booked yoo've goort to be careful or you could get booked again Thanks Dave service as usual then :-)
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 what did you expect. Davis and Fonte made the mistakes, not one of the players brought in.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 get those errors out of your system now Fonte... Probably didn't even want to play today, he's on a lot of matches this season as well,
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Davis and Fonte made the mistakes, not one of the players brought in. that's not the point, it's a weak defence, adds pressure to the better elements. As I said a ridiculous side fielded by a manager who spielged about "no let up". Doesn't matter really but if you're going to play a weakened side then don't blow your trumpet in the preceding days.
LGTL Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 I hate this time of the season, espicially when we have nothing to play for. Thank god for the World Cup. Roll on August.

It's not ridiculous at all.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 It's not ridiculous at all. If you say so, it's a nothing match anyway.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 If you say so, it's a nothing match anyway. Not for Gillingham it isn't
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Oh, f*ck off commentator. Report us to the FA then. I'm sure Pardew can easily justify each of the changes.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Not for Gillingham it isn't which is what I said in the pre-match, we have deliberately fielded a weakened side in a match affecting relegation. Commentator now picking up on this point. Now saying Fonté is less comfortable on his wrong side.
saintalan Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Am I missing the GOAL POST? I assume as SSN say Gillingham have scored!
Window Cleaner Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Am I missing the GOAL POST? I assume as SSN say Gillingham have scored! yes, totally expected of course so no one bothered to be precise about it.
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Yeah, sorry. Goal, f*ck, Gillingham 1-0. Pardew out FFS.
Born In The 80s Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Don't be a div Window Cleaner. It the penultimate game of the season and we have nothing to play for. I'm glad Pardew has made a few changes. Frankly, we know what Lambo, Harding etc, can do, they've had a hell of a long season, so it's a great chance to try a few new things, give some youngsters a chance and give some fringe players a real chance to show that they deserve a place in the squad next season. Football is a squad game. If we lose today i couldn't give a ****, it's all about next season.
Micky Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Am I missing the GOAL POST? I assume as SSN say Gillingham have scored! Ummm I just saw that too - is anybody local ITK....??? Edit: Ahhh right - 1 nil to them then - shall we sack somebody...???
Saint J 77 Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Am I missing the GOAL POST? I assume as SSN say Gillingham have scored! Thats what I thought... 1-0 down according to the BBC as well
Saint_clark Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Should take Fonte off at half time. He hasn't settled at all.
