fareham saint phil Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Oh yeah the hottest summer ever, remember it so well, dont remember the ladybirds just bloody wasps!! Summers day at Wembley, best footballing memory ever, what a day what an occasion, young and happy, cant ask for more RIP Bobby and Ossie, sure there will be loads of Saints fans saluting you both today. Happiest and saddest Bobby memory was meeting and chatting to him in that poxy cafe on portsmouth harbour, so happy to see him but so sad as well.
saintkiptanui Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 I haven't seen one ladybird TBHYou don't clean windows in the countryside, millions of the little buggers, Lord Sainsburys (name dropping) windows were a sea of red and black
Cricketphilly Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Lovely summer for a eleven year old by the sea in Milton though!
chrisobee Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 You don't clean windows in the countryside, millions of the little buggers, Lord Sainsburys (name dropping) windows were a sea of red and black Well by the looks of things you don't clean many windows either !! Should the ladybirds not be red and white in keeping with the tenous Saints connection ?
saintkiptanui Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Well by the looks of things you don't clean many windows either !! Should the ladybirds not be red and white in keeping with the tenous Saints connection ?They can be but these were red and black.
Cricketphilly Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 And I was born the day after... Don't remember much of it then?
ART Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 RIP Bobby Stokes, Peter Osgood. For me Saints greatest hour was last year when Marcus Lieber was announced as saviour of our club. No other event in the clubs history will top that for me. On the field however, Saints greatest hour was at Wembley 34 years ago.
Arizona Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 RIP Bobby, Ossy... and Ayrton Senna. Lets hope we don't have to wait too long for another final.
VectisSaint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 I looked on here earlier and wondered if everyyone had forgotten. Still seems odd to me after 34 years knowing exactly where you were all those years ago. Still the best day of my life (don't tell the missus). Last month was pretty good, but FA Cup v Manure will always be better.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Here's to Bobby, gone but never forgotten, and the next cup win.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 Thanks to all those players for one of my life's greatest memories. Still proud to be a Saint. R.I.P. Ossie and (Viva!) Bobby Stokes.
rick1976.4.38 Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 bobby stokes.4.38 legend,never forgotten.ossie rip the two of you.
Golactico Posted 1 May, 2010 Posted 1 May, 2010 I was 7 and was sat on the bog when Bobby scored. My brother's mate was going mental banging on the toilet door - neither he nor my brother even liked football. That's what the FA Cup meant in those days.......
