I can't remember 1 single poster supporting his appointment

I'm delighted to say that I was championing his cause at the time, tbf. :D

Nobody looked beyond his time at Blackburn where things didn't go well, ignoring the fact that he'd done well at Inter Milan in the past - you don't get that job without being a pretty decent manager.

Brilliant - good mate of mine is a Fulham fan so I've seen them a few times down the years, even when they were back in the 3rd tier. It really is a fairytale for him, he's been to every round home and away, its cost him an absolute fortune, and he couldn't care less...

And a team built without a shedload of money despite Al Fayed's riches, they've done it fair and square and beaten some European giants on the way.

Top marks to Fulham, they really deserve it. They've been an absolutely revelation in Europe this season, and Roy Hodgson definitely deserves the Manager of the Season award, although it'll inevitably go to whoever wins the title as it always does. Looking meaty between Liverpool and Madrid...

Well Done Fulham, its good to see proper football fans get a bit of glory.

Don't know why they are complaining about their 12,500 allocation for the final though, I'm sure that will be more than enough.

They average 24,000 this season, and given this sort of occasion is highly unlikely to happen ever again, I'm not surprised they're complaining.

The ground holds 47,000 as an all-seater venue (increases to 57,000 for league games with the safe standing conversion), which means that nearly 50% of the tickets don't go to fans of the two clubs.

I have mixed feelings on this. It's nice to see a smaller club do well, but Fulham have always struck me as one of the most 'false' clubs. They are the only club I've ever known who have a 'neutral' stand. It could be argued that they started the whole process of clubs being bankrolled to a position they don't deserve (since followed by Wigan, Portsmouth and others).

I was more so referring to their away support, which numbers about 48 plus the bus driver normally.

to be fair, we wanted more than 45k for wembley...then could barely muster 20k for the next game

I see Burnley are in line to potentially qualify for Europe through the fair play league should Fulham actually win the cup in a couple of weeks (Fulham will qualify for it if they don't win).

I would have lol'd big time if Pompey were next in line and still couldn't play in Europe.

So Fulham are in Europe next year whatever happens , (unless they murder a referee or something)

I don't think so, no. I never really understand how it works but was always under the impression that the leaders of the fair play leagues from each of the "big" countries in Europe go into some sort of draw to qualify for Europe. So I think it could effectively come down to luck if they qualify through the fair play league or not. I'm sure someone on here will correct me though.

Good on them to be honest.

Woy has quietly and unspectacularly gone about doing a very good job at Fulham. Built a decent, well organised TEAM, should serve as an example to many other clubs (I think ourselves included) what decent management can achieve

I feel dirty and ashamed for posting this, and never thought I'd say it, but "great article in the Daily Mail"

This is what it means to all the little teams, and a cracking photo of Zoltan (who sounds like he should be in Battle of the Planets) to boot.

  • 2 weeks later...
i for one will be wishing them success tonight. What are other people's thoughts on this?

Absolutely with you on that. We can't see it here as it is on a channel only available in pubs & we have a dinner party tonight

But I'll be running upstairs to check. Stuff the cheats down the road, THIS is the Footballing fairy tale of the decade and let's hope they can keep it up for another 90 minutes
