itchen_dan Posted 18 August, 2010 Share Posted 18 August, 2010 To be honest, Pitman signing for Blackpool is no different to Swindon signing Charlie Austin. Austin was unproven but Swindon gambled and he made the jump easily. Blackpool could've made a very good, clever signing there.

Clifford Nelson Posted 19 August, 2010 Share Posted 19 August, 2010 The world never stands still. Since then we have gotten rid of 13 who where never going to play first team football hear. Sadly we also lost Antonio, who gave us speed and unpredictability and Waigo who also gave us goals and the possibility to play up front, and we have replaced these attacking options with two right backs and a left back. That's the situation we're in now, which looks in need of new attacking alternatives. A back-up for Lambert and an additional centre midfielder have been discussed for months. I don't feel convinced that a promotion is certain before we have dealt with these issues. Then, later on, things will change again and we will need other players to keep progressing. Hopefully we will not then have the reserves full of players that nobody wants to buy, or even taking on a free.
Bailey Posted 19 August, 2010 Share Posted 19 August, 2010 Slightly off topic I know, but did we ever get to the bottom of Pulis' contract situation? SFKA South Woodford Posted 20 August, 2010 Share Posted 20 August, 2010 solent saying he is back with Bournemouth today due to turmoil at Blackpool. The accepted bid was £600,000. Well, for once i can say that I am in the know on this one, as heard it from Mr Pitmans mouth. I was just sitting on a cross country train just behind him, and his mates including a Saints player (Lallana?) kept phoning him to see what was happening, he said that at the moment it looks like he will join Brizzle City on Sunday evening, but that the skates were also interested in talking to him and had made a decent offer, but he's unsure of whether they have the cash to back it up. Also said that Brizzle had made a good offer but that with add ons it was a very good offer. Shows he made the right choice where Blackpool were concerned if they made him go home on the train. Holloway throwing a strop perhaps!
