Badger Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Now he's off to skatesville!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Koren BBC (Mail) say he's off to Hull.
thorpie the sinner Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Leicester also interested, think we may need to forget this one!
Window Cleaner Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 That was my point earlier, never accept anything on wiki, i updated this and the Matt Phillips page a little while back saying he had been offered a cornetto and a packet of crisps, though i expect some people will believe it we must have upped our offer then, it was half a Cornetto and a packet of crisps when I saw it.
S-Clarke Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1301997/Robert-Koren-set-snub-Blackpool-Leicester-join-Hull.html Koren has offers from Blackpool, Leicester and Hull and will choose Hull.....apparently Blackpool are making me laugh, being rejected left/right/centre by all these ''championship'' standard players. Apparentley they are keeping a 10k p/w wage cap. derby's record to be beaten?

Apparentley they are keeping a 10k p/w wage cap. derby's record to be beaten? Am I the only one that thinks Blackpool will surprise the rest of the Premiership by winning........ at least a point somewhere? haha I saw The managers comments last week where he said 'I looked at the fixtures and I'm struggling to see where we will get a point from?' He's a funny guy!

Apparentley they are keeping a 10k p/w wage cap. derby's record to be beaten? it's not funny. We all whine about overpaid players and half the posts on the Portsmouth takeover thread point to them cheating by spending more than they have, so Blackpool should be applauded for trying to keep a lid on their wage bill. The fact Harewood or anyone else would turn them down for just a few quid more just shows players up for the mone grabbing bastards they are.
Saint_Ash Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 "Blackpool sign Craig Cathcart, Malaury Martin, Ludovic Sylvestre, Elliot Grandin and Mlada Boleslav" They'll be fine, they've bought a load of players today, whoever they are!

And if they do get relegated they will have 1 years premiership money and 4 years parachute payments to spend (if they are sensible) on the infrastructure of the club. Something Pimpley didn't spend a penny on. I think Burnley have done something like this, fair play to them.

Exactly, and in the not-too-distant future it may well be where we have to place ourselves. Certainly nothing to be scoffed at. The up-down-up for good (a la Sunderland) is probably the best way to approach promotion in the long-run - although naturally its fantastic if you can stay up for good.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Infrastructure of the club. Something Pimpley didn't spend a penny on. Pompey put a roof on the away end with their seven years of Premier League money.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Harewood is in talks with Huddersfield. £8k a week apparently. We need to be getting in on these deals.
SaintNeil90 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 We need to be getting in on these deals. I wouldnt pay 8k a week for a player who wouldnt be guranteed a starting place and would think he was billy big b*ll*cks playing for a team in this league.
sdeery Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I wouldnt pay 8k a week for a player who wouldnt be guranteed a starting place and would think he was billy big b*ll*cks playing for a team in this league. so your saying if we were to sign harewood he would sit behind barnard on the bench? this is a guy who is a proven force in the championship! he would get in over barnard for me!
SuperMikey Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I'd pay 8k for Harewood FWIW... -----------------Davis--------------- Butterfield---Fonte---Martin---Harding --------------Schneiderlin------------ ---------Hammond---Lallana---------- Harewood------Lambert-----Barnard--
saint_stevo Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 11 Aug 2010 10:29:34 Craig Bellamy will quit Man City for Southampton if he is not included in the 25man squad at Eastlands Hypo's favourite site..........

I would snap his hand off
Andy_Porter Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Harewood and Lambert would be quite some strike force in this league.
latter day saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Harewood and Lambert would be quite some strike force in this league. i would cream my boxers if we sign him up!

SuperMikey Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Harewood and Lambert would be a brilliant strikeforce in the Championship!
ohwhenthesaints Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 I fully expect a Championship side to snap Harewood up. Would be an absolute beast down here in L1 though!
derry Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 harewood would dominate this league and is exactly what we are looking for. I would snap his hand off It's his knob that needs snapping off. I don't want the arrogant tosser at this club, as if Cortese would sign him.
Saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Wayne Thomas has signed for Doncaster, SSN ticker saying.
Smirking_Saint Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 It's his knob that needs snapping off. I don't want the arrogant tosser at this club, as if Cortese would sign him. Harewood ?? Do you mean King ?
itchen_dan Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_6306259,00.html Not going to 'uddersfield then, opens the door for us to make a move? I'd love him here, he'd be a fantastic signing for us in this league and leagues above. Also it would add plenty of options to the squad. Could cover for Rickie, play alongside him, has plenty of pace. Seems the sort of player that we are crying out for IMO.
saint_stevo Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Ipswich have bid accepted for Roberts and in talks with Ross McCormack
MarkSFC Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Ipswich have bid accepted for Roberts and in talks with Ross McCormack Jason Scotland according to SSN not Roberts.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Bristol City bid for Matt Phillips http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6306475,00.html Doh.

We must have some quality targets lined up if we can afford to let all these top players (i.e. Vokes, Jackson, Garvan, etc) join other clubs without us making an offer Given the choice, I would rather sign Roberts than Harewood! However, I think Harewood is the more realistic target!

Perhaps we could take Campbell-Ryce off their hands, if they get Phillips? Bit of pace, bit of skill and can whip a decent ball in, IIRC.

SaintNeil90 Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 Im beyond caring about who we get... I just want a couple of half decent squad signings.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 August, 2010 Posted 11 August, 2010 without us making an offer! And how do you know that?
markr27 Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Oldham's Tom Eaves has just signed for Bolton for £200,000 according to SSN... however, he may be ripe for a loan deal following the League Cup game?

SaintRichmond Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Who we sign doesn't matter right now.... I'm afraid it does Even at this tragic time, I don't think even Markus would want Saints to miss out on any opportunities to strengthen HIS Team He would want "Business as usual" I'm sure

itchen_dan Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Ok, I know its 606 and RocketSwanie but if it was in the paper, he isn't making it up this time Svetoslav Todorov linked - http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A72896106 I think he'd do a good job tbh. At 32, would surely be more than happy to sit on the bench. Also Pardew signed him before whilst at Charlton.
Hatch Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 Probably been mentioned before on this thread, but David Healy at Sunderland has probably about a zero chance of playing for them this season. Would he nice to see him down here.
SuperMikey Posted 12 August, 2010 Posted 12 August, 2010 He's had worse luck injury-wise than Connolly. No thanks.
