Only if you were a little bit racist...;)

Benjani is 11 years older with a completely different skin tone and they don't look alike.

Being of mixed race origin myself, I doubt I'd be going down the race route!!

To be fair, I did only say "reasonable" and it was entirely based on the pic I found using google. It's their fault.

At the south bound Winchester service station on the M3 this morning, there was a a Lamborghini Gallardo, number plate V4 SSE being driven by Darius Vassell. I didn't speak to him, he was getting in his car and driving away as I was filling up across the forecourt. There may be hundreds of reasons why he was there....just sharing what I saw. Anyone else on here see him/speak to him??

Gallardo's are so 2006.....

Same could be said of Darius Vassell... :-)

Ha funnily enough I saw a Gallardo on Saturday eve about 8pm, it was at the lights about to turn left outside the Lucius pun in Ocean Village, so going to be heading towards the Itchen Bridge or go straight over and head towards the Stadium way. Didn't take in the number plate so could be anyone, just remember seeing it and saying to the wife "Nice Lamborghini there."

I didn't see the number plate or who was in it so it seriously could be anyone but the story fitted in well here. :)

Maybe we could get in with this? Come on blackpool hardly a bigger club then us

Have you forgotten that Blackpool will be playing Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City this season and Saints are playing Rochdale, Dag & Redbridge, Hartlepool, Exeter and Yeovil?

Can anyone please tell me who the big Eastern European looking bloke who trained with the team pre-game Saturday was? He was wearing No. 40 on his shorts.

That was Ivan Toosignforyoo, he's a CM from Macedonia. Held in quite high esteem over there apparently.

Our old friend Pele is now in this league, he's joined MK Dons

he'd have done a job for us in midfield tbh, as a squad player

I always rated him so biased, but IMO he'd of been perfect in that role, allowing Morgan and Hammond to push on without having to worry whats behind them

But if that happens' date=' Football Rumours will have got a rumour right! This must be stopped...[/quote']

I for one don't think its us, it hardly narrows it down saying that its a team thats offered him better wages than Tranmere.

Im sorry but signing some 33 year old is not the answer

a/ he is too old

b/ he is not tall enough to be a Lambert replacement - 5ft 10....

c/ he does not have the quality

i really would have to question our ambition if that is the best we could come up with.

I didn't say we were signing him. If you read my post after that.

But, to be fair, how do we sell: "would you like to come and be Rickie Lambert's back up" to the type of striker we'd ideally like to sign? Might be a decent enough stop-gap/emergency player until we get ourselves promoted?

I had hoped we'd moved away from the like of 'signing back up'. Signings should be looking to improve the team and make existing players backup. A Lambert understudy won't be anywhere near as good so it should be a plan B player, like Waigo who offers something different and can play with Rickie, but also help out when he's unavailable.

We need a CM to make sure Wotton is just backup, not back up to Wotton. Likewise, someone to really compete with Puncheon, not someone who might do an ok job when he's injured.

This is true, but I'm beginning to wonder whether Pardew has a different game plan except hit it long to the strikers.

Which would be crazy, given that Morgan, Lallana, Puncheon and Lambert are all very good with the ball at their feet. When we passed it and played with width and pace we looked very good. When we hit it long for 90 minutes we rely on crap defending to win it seems.

This being why I was, and still very much am, seriously peeved about Saturday. When we get it down and keep possesion, we grow in confidence and look like one hell of an outfit. Then Jaidi gets the ball and hoofs it and we ending up watching 22 men play oversized tennis for half hour, until someone has the balls to keep hold of the ball for longer than 3 seconds.

These were AP's comments 2 weeks ago, saying he still wanted a couple more players. Then, I seem to recall him saying he hoped he'd have 1 or 2 more in before the season started but that it'd be close. Now he's being far more coy about transfers and not really discussing them at all. And there are not even any rumours flying around. It makes me concerned that it's less about player availability and more about spending on targets not being sanctioned.

I have a feeling you are probably right. we will not sign any more players on any permanent contracts, more likely the transfer window will come and go. Then we will loan some players in. I get the feeling that NC doesn't want to spend big on players. If we were going to spend big we would already have our transfer targets in our squad.
