The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

Well AP said it would be "touch and go" whether the new face(s) would be in before the big kick-off and he's not wrong with any deals needing to be done by tomorrow lunch time in order to play! Really thought we'd have had someone in today.

On the plus side, Plymouth have loaned out Damien Johnson to Huddersfield for the season. Good news for Saturday but 'Udders are continuing to strengthen with decent players, which is a concern.

Although, if we only announce a signing tomorrow night or Saturday morning, Plymouth have no chance to plan for their inclusion...

Jidda are after Craig Dawson the centre back not Stephen Dawson the midfielder - who has already signed for Leyton Orient. I don't think we need another centre back anyway really

I'm not sure where all this confidence in Seabourne and Martin has come from. Seabourne has been pretty shaky and Martin has played two games. I hope they turn out to be top notch, but if we could get Craig Dawson then I'd feel more confident personally. Can't see that happening though as it looks like he can get a move to the championship if the buyer ups their offer.

Frank Danquah and Wesley Ngo-Baheng

Source?

Seems both are strikers, Danquah gpt released at end of last season and has trialled at Bmth during last season. The other guy looks a good prospect, imagine he would be with a view to loan maybe.

Agree, think Martin will be good but thunk Seabourne is at his level, i.e. average league one.

An exciting prospect like Craig Dawson would be ideal. Him and Martin as back up would be good.

First of all i just want to say i am very excited about the new season. Dare i say of all seasons i can remember this is one where we are favourites and should do well.

On thing is worring me is Huddersfield, who i expect to go up with us. I see they have signed Damien Johnson to go along with about 10 pretty good signings.

As things stand our first 11 is excellent but the lack of depth in certain areas worries me, particularly centre mid. Surely no one beleives Wotton should be anywhere near our first team, im dissapointed he wasn't let go as we could get a lot better cover elswhere.

Still the number 8 and 11 shirts are still vacant so signings will be imminent, lets just pray nothing happens to Hammond or Schneiderlin

Gauthier Mahoto and his agent are in Southampton today. He is 18/19 yes old, plays in midfield, was on Pompeys books until about Feb this year. Don't know why he's here but his agent said he was visiting Pompey, Southampton and Birmingham!
From that reliable source Wikipedia..... Mahoto signed a 2-and-a-half-year contract with French club SC Bastia.[3] Yet more clearance issues seem to have appeared, with rumour that a clause in his contract upon leaving Le Havre meant he could not play competitively in France for the next three years. Suspicion has also been cast onto his release from Portsmouth - in which he may have forced through the transfer. Another theory is that administrative service at Portsmouth are poorly communicating with Bastia due to the club being put into administration.

Haha Matthew Le God would love that one!

I was manager of Dorchester in FM2009, I managed to get Gauthier Mahoto on a season long loan from Pompey & he won BSS player of the season

Mahoto is still a skate, although Pompey are currently negotiating his release. He was sold in January to Bastia, but the deal fell through. It's on the News website today.

The Benjani rumour won't go away, apparently he was at St. Marys over the weekend having a medical. Most likely bull**** but so have most rumours so far.

Not the first person I've heard that from, but i suspect it was just someone that looked similar. There is no chance we'd get him at this level.

'Southampton to spend money on new players in the next two weeks after a disappointing loss to Plymouth Argyle.

Expect signings next week.

SFC_RED_BOY'

Any idea who we are going to sign or who we are interested in?

---------------------------------------------------

Matt Phillips should sign this week, for around £600,000.

Saints are looking Andros Townsend.

Saints are re-thinking a move for last seasons loan Papa Waigo N'Diaye. Probably another Season's Loan with option for Permanent.

Saints are to sign a Striker in the next two weeks. No information about who we're trying to sign.

Southampton may get a Couple of loans in this week. a CM and winger.

Southampton to sign Ian Thomas Moore on a two year deal. Expected to be announced tommorow/ tuesday. He will be back up for Lee Barnard and star striker Rickie Lambert. He will also be ahead of David Connolly in the pecking order at St. Mary's.

Latest rumours from Football Rumours to keep us ticking over...

Interestingly, they include a rumour that Benjani is off to Bristol City too. That's that ruled out then. Welcome to Southampton Mr Mwaruwari! Although, would he still get a work permit? Does he still play for Zimbabwe? Haven't checked out their world ranking recently.

Think you might be right, SC.

Frank Danquah would appear to do a reasonable Benjani impression...
