'Tottenham's teenage midfielder John Bostock believes his progress is being damaged by foreign players in the English game. The 18-year-old' date=' who was on loan at Brentford last season, wants another loan move as he has only made three substitute appearances for Spurs in two years.'[/quote']

Should have thought of that before he left Palace then. F*cking idiot.

Anyone up for a bit of forgive-and-forget?

Marlon King's just been released from jail and the stigma around him may put off a fair few bigger clubs. I quite honestly don't give a **** about his misdemeanours and would sign him in a heartbeat. Would run riot in this league.

Sorry the bloke is just pure scum. He has shown no remorse for sexually assaulting that student & then punching her when she told him where to go, and the fact that he is a repeat offender just shows he can't & won't learn. Can't believe for one minute Markus would allow someone like that our club but if he did come, that would be it for me until he left. Rasiak-9-, have you seen how many convictions this guy has got? Frankly football should just ban him.

Not sure football should ban him, due to complex rehabilitation of offender debate - but don't think any club should answer the phone to the agent of this scum.

Put it this way, if we signed him, it was 0-0 with minute to go in FA Cup final, we get a penalty, I would hope he misses rather than celebrate him.

Does anybody else think that we are delaying the announcement of any signings so they can be exclusively revealed to the crowd before the mouth watering clash with Reading? Maybe they will leak something on the OS today to encourage a big walk up tommorow?

Okay guys, i think it is safe to assume Tyson is not signing and to be honest and knowing our regime, he probabaly never was on the cards anyway.

So assuming we are going to sign 3 players, who would you like to sign before Plymouth

Here is my list (one of)

Striker - Jason Scotland/ Aaron McClean or Tom Eaves

Right Winger - Michail Antonio/ Gael Kakuta/ Andros Townsend

Centre Midfield - Neil Danns/ Owen Garvan/ Hayden Mullins

Thoughts please.......

I would sign...

Tom Eaves - Young and would be able to learn from Lambert and Connolly etc. Already seems to show great quality and would be more than adequate back up for Lambert

Michail Antonio - Already know what he can do and wanted to come back here this season so shows his commitment to the club. Also cover for striker

Darren Carter - Just seems to be a great chance of getting in a strong Championship player on small fee. Would provide great cover / competition and would push Hammond and Schneiderlin to their max. Also could cover the wings if necessary.

Itchen Dan - I agree with you on Eaves, at 6ft 3in and 18 years old he is young enough to learn from Ricky and develop into a really good player. I like the idea of getting a young player who can come on with enthusiasm and change games.

Also agree on Antonio, however in terms of the midfield Garvan who is being touted by Palace for 150k would be great value. I would like to think that despite Palace being a division ahead we can still offer a better financial package.

Was kind of hoping one of the deals AP was talking about would be done prior to the Reading game, to add a bit of interest and so they'd have the opportunity to play with the first team before the League season kicks off, next week. I guess that's not likely, now, although there are 10 more hours to go before it's 11.30pm...

Interesting to hear Brian Hughes last night on the radio. He's on trial at Huddersfield after getting his fitness back at Cardiff, and sounded as though he was going to sign for them if nothing better came along. Both him and Carter were at brum, who I used to watch a fair bit. I saw a lot more of Hughes than Carter, some of the time int he CCC. Hughes was always a decent ball player with a slightly lethargic style. He still put his foot in, but he was never flashy.

Carter impressed me less when I saw him, though he came into the side when Brum were in the top flight so had much tougher opposition. Really hard to compare him with Hughes due to the change in league. IMO He never got hold of the ball or did enough in games. He lacks that pace across the ground and I never got the feeling he was fit enough. He has certainly filled out since his early Brum days.

Hughes lasted about a season in the Prem before they offloaded him to Charlton. Carter lasted an extra season (worked out to be about the same amount of games as Hughes in total) before he was sold to WBA (also in Prem at time). Brum felt both were not good enough for that level. League 1 is a long old drop from that level so I would imgine both would look handy. It be interesting to see how both fair as obviously Pardew has the chance to get either.

Started the 2010/11 campaign back at Reading and scored the winner in our pre-season friendly victory over Wolves - from Readings OS dont think they will be letting go of him now :( Shame

he's their captain. Seems a strange guy to go for. A 32 year old, in contract. This supposed transfer doesn't feel right.

I think he's 31 and he's out of contract and already making noises about leaving Empoli (who don't seem to want to offer him a decent new contract). He says he's prepared to move abroad. Incidentally Empoli are Italian 2nd division but a decent side. I'm sure he'd appreciate playing in front of decent crowds, though!

Likes fishing and seems like a nice family guy.

Bit of a playmaking mid-fielder btw, and he's not 6'1"

Well Freddy Adu definitely seems available if clubs want him. Swiss side Sion have just turned him down after he was on trial there for the past week.

And his Twitter says: "Guys I will let everyone know what I decide to do. I havnt decided anything yet. Lots to think about. Hopefully some good news in the next couple days. I know I'm going to be praying. Until then I will be incognito. Ill keep you updated."

Garvan is a good shout, but i'd be worried about his motivation as it was only 18 months ago he was thinking about quitting football because it bored him....

for a player of that age to have thoughts like that is quite worrying....but he has talent.

Must be something in the water up in East Anglia - Didn't their young keeper Shane Supple quit football because he 'fell out of love with the game?'

Agree about Garvan too - Hell of a player for this level.

Never understood that

Agent - 'hi son, fancy getting a good wage to stay in shape, have quite a lot of time off, minor celeb status, play football a couple of times ? Btw, if you don't play or are injured you'll still be paid ??

Player - 'No thanks, know if any decent call centre jobs are available ?'

I think it was more of a case of Garvan getting home sick and wanting to move back home to his farm with his family. Which is understandable to an extent as he was only a young lad at the time.

Someone who speaks to a Reading player with the initials BH ;) down the Gym (private one in the bitterne area) says he told him that Reading are not allowed to arrive at the ground 2moro until after 1.30, Normally when he has played here he said he would turn up early to see old faces and catch up.

BH reckons it COULD be to show off a singing .....COULD.

Then again I doubt any of you will believe me...

I can see the "Lambden Out" chants coming already :hunt:

Why would showing off a signing delay the arrival of the away team?

Saint_Lamden,

Just think it through yourself, it makes no sense...

Why does it matter if the away team are at the stadium or not before 1:30pm? Most away teams turn up at that sort of time anyway.

Kick off is at 3pm. Gates will probably open at 1:30pm. The attendance tomorrow won't be large and most won't be in the bowl until 2:30pm or later.

Any player unveilings would be in the last 20 minutes before the game starts. If Reading are warming up it doesn't matter. All it takes is the player, match announcer and a guy with a camera on some part of the pitch.

If a player does sign and appear on the pitch tomorrow this also doesn't make you right. Throw enough vague rumours around and some will "happen".
