surely we can get this?

There are not many foreign players, male, not ginger and over 30?

:-)

We know the followin:

He has never played in England.

He is not ginger.

He is not under 30.

He looks good on youtube.

He has only represented his country at U21 level.

He currently plays for a second tier side.

Did I miss anything?

If we had a country he was playing in and a nationality I reckon we would get there.

How exciting, better not be dissapointted if we actually sign anyone. Although Pardew has done well so far. Think the days of the ITK'ers is over, shame cause I like all the speculation, but recent events have shown you can't trust these so called sources anymore.

A player agent contacts AP 'We have a player interested.'

Contese contacts the club 'We will offer XYZ.'

The other club 'Yes agreed.'

The player with agent meet Cortese 'I will sign as I like that deal.'

Cortese 'You tell anyone and I will pull out.'

Where does any of the above say 'Contact the press or even a friend, supporter, current Saints player to let them know and spill the deal.

They don't and they won't.

That's why the next players in will be a total surprise to us all and that all ITK and the speculation in the Echo, Mail, and forums etc should be ignored as it's all pants.

Where has this greogry vignal rumour popped up from? i've seen it come up on some other forums now as well.

Why would we want another LB?

Worryingly, some of these sources are suggesting that Forest want Dan Harding as part of the NT deal, even suggesting we give them DH + 100k for Tyson. It appears they may have missed out on Nicky Shorey and want a LB.

Hope this not true as would be crazy to do this deal and replace DH with Vignal.

Ask yourself, Would AP be happy with the deal?

If yes then let's do it, If no because AP knows we have the money and he does not want to lose Harding then don't worry.

Forget what other people think as they don't know what's going on like the rest of us.

Sounds like a brilliant deal to me. Vignal and Tyson for 100K plus Dan Harding. Lets not forget the very capable LB we have just signed as well.

TBF that is a very good deal, but i'd miss harding. One of my favourite players last year, i can only really remember him having 1 or 2 poor games. A complete steady eady.

So would I, but really LB is our strongest area. If his sale allows us to bring in a player who is really needed then it's worth it. Would just need a CM and a Lambert replacement and we are set!

Wouldn't be crazy at all. Harding is very good and I like him, but Vignal is a championship player so we'd have a good replacement, and have Dickson too, but have Tyson.

..and mills...and even young Reeves who has had a great pre-season apparentley! LB is one of the area's we could afford to lose one player.

Would be a great shame to lose Harding as he was excellent last season, but Dickson is also a very good player (albeit an injured very good player at the moment) and we have young Fish waiting in the wings, as well as Reeves.

Vignal always looked decent when I saw him, only issue was his passing which was often very dodgy. Would be good at L1 level though.

'Tottenham's teenage midfielder John Bostock believes his progress is being damaged by foreign players in the English game. The 18-year-old' date=' who was on loan at Brentford last season, wants another loan move as he has only made three substitute appearances for Spurs in two years.'[/quote']

read his interview in the Sun today & was impressed with how he conducted himself. no idea if he is any good though :?

think we could be in for a few loans from the premiership.hope they will be a bit more consistent then Mellis was.

He scored an absolute gem of a goal for England under 19s the other day. If I remember right he did pretty well for brentford when he went on loan there. I really hope the rumours about lallana to wolves or hull aren't true

Bostock is wrong, if he decided to stay at Palace a couple of years ago he would be a far better player now rather than going for the big money to soon. I don't see how when Spurs have several excellent english midfielders in their squad and players like Palacios, Kranjcar, (the other croatian, can't think of his name) are good quality players not holding him back.

I wouldn't want him on loan, I think their are better options available.

Vignal used to run forward with the ball 20 or 30 yards and then long ball it diagonally to nowhere time after time!

he was quite vicious in the tackle though!

Wouldn't really want him back - Harding is far better - and I trust Dickson is too!

A Spurs fan who lives locally said to me today that all the Saints fans he's spokent to seem very downbeat about the new season at the moment - I had to agree with him and said its probably because we haven't made the kind of signings we were expecting as yet - and have no illusions that anything other than promotion this season will be a failure - and that its not going to be as easy as we hoped with Sheff Weds, Plymouth, Peterborough and Huddersfield in the division!

I think we need to see a marquee signing to give us all a boost in the next couple of days - and see first teamers like Morgan, Lallana and Puncheon on the pitch against Reading or Eastliegh so we know they're not going anywhere are going start the season!

Downbeat? all of my southampton supporting friends can't wait for the season to kick off again. We have replaced Ostemebor with Richardson which is a huge improvement, Lloyd James with Butterfirld which gives us a far more experienced utility player and we've bought in Dickson to give Harding and Lallana competition, all of this on top of what looked like a side that could hold it's own at the top end of the CCC.

Signing players for the sake of it will only lead to players getting ****ed off, not being able to gel properly and all the **** that goes with it. Settled teams win leagues.

What about Waigo and Antonio Andy Porter???????????

We may have a slight upgrade defensively but we are massively weakened offensively. The starting line up may be strong but we have no depth and no pace in the team...

Lets hope this is addressed pronto

I agree we can lack a couple of attacking players, getting those two back would be perfect. I am hoping Oxlade-Chamberlain will step up this season but we could still do with one more wide player and a midfielder probably Carter.

Just had a conversation with my mate about our strength compared to last season and we completely echoed the fact that we need an exciting signing. As the above posts say, we are defensively solid now, but Waigo and Antonio were big players for us last season. Now we know what they're all about, I would class them as big time signings. Desperately want a really decent winger and centre mid. Still optimistic about the season, but not AS optimistic as I was or should be!

Back to the questions.

How many times has he played for his country at U21 level?

16

Erm, if it is I'd be amazed as he's pretty good, but Andrea Gasbaronni. Decent winger/attacking midfielder.

'fraid not.

To be honest it's all gone a bit quiet now. I'll chuck you the fact that he's Italian.

Ighli Vannucchi?

He was the only one I could find with 16 u-21 caps.

Roberto Baronio is ginger - but he's got 25 or so u-21 caps, as stack of other age group caps & 1 full Italian cap. FFS can't be that many ginger Itai's :o

Blake chastised him in the recent U19 tournement for a poor attitude - primarly for taking one game lightly - and was subbed in that game. Brentford sent him back early. He started well there, but they moved him out wide and he struggled. Arry quite clearly doesn't fancy him and has damned him with feignt praise. He clearly needs to be handled right to get the best out of him.
