I have inside information from Portsmouth football club that we are going to sign Paul Wotton on a season long loan from our rivals Southampton with view to a permanent deal. Trust me, this is looking very likely at the moment, I work within the club which is how I know!

I was thinking earlier that it wouldn't surprise me if we got another laon from Italy a la Waigo fairly late in the day. Maybe this is it.

General, fixtures, personel, transfers, a bit strange. I will give it time though.

 

Can't say I'm that bothered TBH. I've been through too many pre seasons to be in any way concerned. Hope Adam and a few others are fit soon though.

The players dont know anything about transfers, unless they know the player personally. I was told this today, by a player. So I think your full of sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeite. IMO.

On another point - read the newspapers tomorrow , dozens of rumours and at most about 2 or 3 will come true ...but do you write into them the next day saying they are "full of sh*[eeeeee" when the majority don't come true?

I want players to sign as much as you and everybody else on here does- but I wouldn't make up a load of bull just to get the jolly's out of watching everyone get excited.

 

Maybe Tyson has agreed a deal? ....maybe it's fallen through? ......maybe they are waiting on other deals? ...... maybe they are trying to sort out Tyson's image rights? ......

 

This player who talks to the 1976 site often has a general idea what is going on but it's not going to be perfect information is it?

 

The 1976 site has been right about alot of things , they just haven't necessarily been posted on here (A.K.A the retro kits being tried on at the training ground- "tailored by England range" was quoted and was correct , Calderon deal falling through )

 

And the Adu deal DID originally come from RSwanie on 606 , but then the player informed us of talks breaking down due to Adu asking for in the region of up to 20k a week and there were image rights problems.

With them getting a crowd of 7k for last seasons champions league semi finalists, nearly anything above 5k for Reading on saturday would be very good.

1) "New kits tried on at the training ground" is hardly uncommon for football teams.

2) All Umbro club kits are from the tailored range this season.

3) No evidence Saints even made a bid for Calderon apart from his agent. In fact the Saints OS pretty much denied it. If discussions did take place there are only two outcomes, either he signs or he doesn't. So to claim he hasn't signed isn't really much of a punt.

MK Dons got 12k for a friendly against West Ham tonight. Which is 2,000 more than their average attendance last season.

When you predict a signing lambden and it happens, then maybe I will sit up and take notice. You have to say from our point of view, we haven't seen a shred of evidence for any of your predictions so far.

I know it's frustrating for everyone including me.

 

Without a deal happening and without me telling you who this player is and giving you his phone number I can't prove the information.

 

That's why it's hard to believe from where you're sitting.

 

The only quote I could find was from http://www.givemefootball.com/league-one/seagulls-fight-off-saints-to-keep-spaniard :

I do think the wording is important here! Everyone loves the gossip, but statements like 'he has 100% signed' and ' he will get number 8 shirt' are quite frankly wrong, so in that sense, we should the bloody messenger!!!!!!!!! 'We are hoping......' would be better all round

Exactly. People lose credibility when they say: "It's a done deal" when they really mean: "Player X told friend Y who told me that he saw Player Z popping into the SMS medical centre"

 

Change the language to match the situation and, hey presto, credibility restored.
