Etienne Esajas on trial?

Where did you hear/see that?

It makes sense, particularly as AP has said wide areas are a concern. I think Charlton have plumped for another left winger, Kyel Reid, instead because he was on loan there last year and then was released by Sheff Utd. Maybe we should go for a 6 month deal and see if he can cut over a reasonable period?

I can't believe people want us to just cast off Wotton. Very short sighted IMO.

As a starter... no, obviously not. But if we're 1 goal up with a few minutes left he is the perfect guy to stick on and give the centre backs a bit of shielding from the hoofs upfield that will be heading our way. I doubt the midfielder we all aspire to sign would offer that attribute; we're really after someone with a bit more attacking instinct.

Wotton should not be in the starting eleven but he has an important role to play as a senior squad member.

Would rather play with 10 than have that useless moron on the pitch

mmm im guessing the Benjani one is based on anther rumour elsewhere. Tyson could well be a target but surely not both?

The mail paper is the only one that I would half believe a rumour.

Interesting but I can't see Benny coming as he would want one last pay day, if he wants Tyson then we will get him in the end, depending if he will come to us.

Where does that leave Barnard and Connolly?

Interesting indeed!

If Tyso did come, surely he would be our speed option! Fantastic for 20 mins to go!!! Alternatively, Conny and Barney coulp both provide a spark from bench!! Really think we need strength in depth this season, we are not just going for playoffs, it is top 2 or bust! We have to be prepared

Benjani is not the type of player AP would sign IMO so I don't believe that one. Tyson is a possibility, although like Pilchards I cannot see him coming here to warm the bench. He might be a good alternative to Lambo and might strike up a great partnership with Connolly or Barnie, but frankly I would be concerned with upsetting the status quo. Having said that, competition is not a bad thing even for the likes of Lambo who might find himself having a bit of a slow season.

Although Tyson does fit the bill for both additional striker and pacy winger as he can play both roles. Slap another £100k on top Markus, and they'll probably do business!

Tyson would be a great addition.

He can also play as a wide man, from either the left or the right hand side...so would add compeititon/options to the 3 areas pard's has so far stated he's worried about.

As someone has said, if he's someone Pard's really wants we'll get him. I think Forest want to make sure they get who they want first, before letting anyone else go.

...that's why i think our moves may come towards the end of the window.

I think that Lisbie could do a very good job for us, either deputising for Lambert or playing alongside him, as he has both the power and pace that we need and since Keane doesn't seem to want to give him a chance at Ipswich, he could be a bargain to be had. He had a good season at Colchester last year, 13 goals in a team that didn't create half the amount of chances we did. Couple him and Lambert with a pacy winger and combative mifielder and I think we'd be unstoppable.

Power? I thought he was small and quick?

Yep agreed it would seem that Garvan would be an excellent addition. Highly rated a few years ago and slightly lost his way, however a full international and the kind of combative midfielder we are looking for.

Garvan and Tyson are very plausable and would both be great buys, with the ability to be first team players.

Perfect friday scenario -

Saints double signing of Garvan and Tyson, then Pulis being let go. I would even allow myself a jubilant dance on the spot...

That IMO is the sort of signing we should be looking at for our 4th striker, not automatically him but a young up and coming player that may wish to progress his career at an upwardly mobile club (hopefully) we have a good set up, money, stability and a sound future ATM in that respect i would imagine we would be a good side for youngsters such as him to learn his trade.

If we added Tyson,Garvan,Boyd and Dawson to our squad we would then have the team and squad to destroy this league imo.

They are affordable as we have not spent much this summer and have a rumoured transfer budget available of £5million plus.

Tyson would give us the pace upfront. Will probably cost about £600,000

Noone has moved for George Boyd from Peterborough yet and we could probably get him at £1.25 million

Surely we are a better bet than Crystal Palace who are meant to be after Owen Garvan.Would probably cost about £500,000

Dawson wants to leave Rochdale will probably end up at Middlesborough but would be a great capture to really give some competition in the centre back positions. Will probably cost about £500,000.

With these players or similar added I would be extremely confident of us winning the league. At the moment I am hopeful but don't think we are much infront of Sheff Wed , Huddersfield and Peterborough if at all.I'm sure ML & NC will make sure the odds are more firmly in our favour come the 31st August with a much stronger squad than we have now.I may be wrong but reading between the lines of what NC says I think some major signings are still likely.

All the players above would be capable of stepping up if we get promoted this season.

There are posts on the Nottingham Forest forum saying that the club is in financial trouble! This surely puts Saints in the better bargaining position when it comes to negotiating a fee for Nathan Tyson. I reckon a bid of £525K will secure the signing of Tyson!

So you want us to spend £2.8million on four players?

Nigel Doughty is worth around £140m. I'm not sure how they could be in financial trouble. Unless they sign Wittingham Tyson won't be allowed to leave. They had six strikers last year and Billy Davis wanted them all. They won't allow players to leave unless the squad is topped up. He cost them about £700,000 I think, and they will probably want their money back. Is i8t a buyers market, I'm not sure.

quality not quantity. Not sure if we have a chance of any of them. Boyd just signed a new deal at the Posh, and the others want to play in the Championship.

I know alot of you slag him rotten, bit RocketSwanie is on 606 saying Nathan Tyson is ours, unveiled on OS by Tuesday.

£530,000 plus add-ons?

ahhh good old Rocket ;)

tbf this story has been gathering momentum and what with him being left out of their friendly...2+2=...

But pard's has been monitoring Tyson for a while and i said in another thread, i'd heard that we tried to get him in the jan. window.

does this potentially make me ITK? ;)

Add a CM and your right

If Rocket's 2nd' snippet is to be believed, we've put another bid in for Danns - but it's been rejected again, apparently Palace have said they will not sell their stars for less than £4m???? I've heard they've been rescued, but i didn't think they were in that strong a financial position.

From a forest fan -

''

Tyson met with Southampton gaffer today

They met today to discuss the move, i really hope he stays having that pace to come on off the bench is a real asset.

He has never reached his potential at forest, mainly, as i've stated before, hes never been given his true role upfront next to a big man like adebola or blackstock that his pace would thrive off, i remember his only good run of games up front was a year or two ago on his own or with earnie and he had to win the knock ons, then chase after them!

This has come from a good source, i know its not ground breaking, but i had doubts over the truth id heard in this move before as i think he could play at a lot higher standard.

Always a legend in my eyes for Flag Day, which was the playing equivelent of the sheeps heads through the derby pub window!

Good luck if he does go, cant believe the a.p would consider it now were down to blackstock, earnie and adebola - whos playing with a hole in his sack!''

Some Forest fan on 606 is saying we're getting Tyson for cash plus a player...

I hope that player isn't anyone we need. Pulis or Wotton hopefully!

Possibly Gobern, it's one of our kids we're shipping out. It won't be a lambo swap!!
