Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Wasn't it Feeney who signed for Oldham?
SaintRichmond Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Jacob mellis again? How about Rowan Vine? Or Rowan Atkinson ??
Gorgiesaint Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Wasn't it Feeney who signed for Oldham? Correct - Warren Feeney has just signed for Oldham, David Healy is still with Sunderland at the moment.
Gorgiesaint Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Lee Hendrie looks like he's on his way to Aberdeen according to Sky Sports http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_6270245,00.html (so no loss there then)
thornhill_saints Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Breaking news elokobi is moving to southampton between £1m–£1.5m details being discussed today. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/

MarkSFC Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Breaking news elokobi is moving to southampton between £1m–£1.5m details being discussed today. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/ he's a left-back so very unlikely!!

Saint Garrett Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 It's football-rumours.co.uk so probably bull.

Would love it if we signed Waigo, my kids proper love him. They sing their own song for him to the tune of Papparazzi.

You've mentioned a load of players that we're meant to be looking at/might sign from your ITK player. Have any of them signed yet? The ones we have signed so far haven't been said by you yet. I'm not sure if your ITK mate actually knows what's going on. I'll be happy to be proved wrong though.
S-Clarke Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Breaking news elokobi is moving to southampton between £1m–£1.5m details being discussed today. http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/ don't believe anything on that website. I've sent crap to that site before just to see, and low and behold it was published within 24 hours you can send them anything. It's like an internet based transfer window for football manager.
Gordon Mockles Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 I'd love to see Papa Waigo back but sadly can't see it. We won't get a player like him in again. Has anyone confirmed this rumour of Papa coming back or being with the squad in Switzerland or is it just another made up internet rumour?
ottery st mary Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 We luv Papa and want him back in the squad...Please... Sorted asap pleeeeese.
Crouchie Crouchie Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Someone's changed Elokobi's Wiki page and apparently he's signing tommorow. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Elokobi Total bull obviously.
S-Clarke Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 This is what was on there - ''On 21 july 2010 Elokobi signed for league 1 side southampton for an undisclosed fee believe to be between £1m- £1.5 milion pounds after turning down local rivals Portsmouth on the grounds that he wanted to make a protest against that clubs criminal abuse of its creditors trust.'' made me lol

Has anyone confirmed this rumour of Papa coming back or being with the squad in Switzerland or is it just another made up internet rumour? I heard a taxi rumour that he didn't get on at all with Pardew, that was from a taxi driver who 'drove the players every now and again' So pinch of salt is possibly required
thornhill_saints Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 20 Jul 2010 15:10:14 Southampton have told Rochdale to name their price for sought after defender Craig Dawson. Despite interest from Middlesbrough, Dawson would move to Saints as he sees their future as a very bright one thanks to the investment from billionaire owner Markus Liebherr. Alan Pardew has said he will match any bid put on the table. Dale however have told Southampton they will not tell them how much they want so it will be up to Southampton to bid what they think the player is worth. Boro have already had a £400,000 bid turned down, a bid of over £500,000 should be enough. It is believed that Alan Pardew sees him as a replacement for veteran defender Radhi Jaidi

We're not crying out for another centre half and the lad, according to the BBC, wants to join Middlesbrough. I reckon someone has made this up or at best it's his agent trying to generate some interest.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6271300,00.html Charlton and Huddersfield are after David Mooney, who's been told he'll not be featuring in the Reading first team. Would be a useful addition as the additional striker we need, IMO, if we were after him too. Nothing to suggest we are after him, just a thought.
Chez Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 (edited) shame because he (Dawson) is a decent player with great potential as well. I'm far from convinced by Seaborne or Martin so personally I'd welcome another CB signing and he's the crop of the league 2 players thats for sure. Edited 20 July, 2010 by Chez

Have you seen Martin play for reserves/easleigh/salisbury? I ask as he has only featured for the first team twice. I didnt make it to Gillingham away, but against Southend he looked pretty comfortable. He is very young and to me seems like a very good prospect. As for Seabourne... I feel a warm gloopy substance trickling down the back of my legs every time the ball goes within 20 yards of him.
Smirking_Saint Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 Essruu? Dunno, i don't know who Essruu is, but unless he is a tallish dark haired 50ish year old with a beard i doubt it.
Mr Saints Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 I know nothing concrete has linked us with him but apparently Dawson has handed in another transfer request (first one was turned down). Would be a cracking signing for any Championship side, let alone league 1.
Smirking_Saint Posted 20 July, 2010 Posted 20 July, 2010 What about young Le Fondre whilst we are at it ?

Would be a cracking signing for any Championship side, let alone league 1. You only need to read the quotes from the Rochdale manager to see it is because of the Middlesborough interest. http://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10441~2097147,00.html
Wycombe Saint Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Couldnt be bothered to look through all 42 pages, however not sure if anyone has mentioned this guy. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12955_6261779,00.html Anyone know if he is any good

I feel a warm gloopy substance trickling down the back of my legs every time the ball goes within 20 yards of him. I've not seen him in the reserves or for Eastleigh (not that either is a great place to judge him) - how has he looked? In the Gillingham game I thought he looked poor, extremely nervous (which is understandable), poor on the ball, slow to turn and not at all dominating in the air. Not every Saint felt that way though. I was one of the few non drinkers that day I might add. I'm sure he will improve and I'm not judging him on those couple of games I'm just stating what I saw. Seaborne does not dominate in the air, that is his biggest problem. He is reasonably quick and not too bad on the ball, but if you don't win headers at this level you get caught - as we did for a couple of years with the likes of Perry and Thomas (neither ever good enough in the air IMO). Funnily enough he looked quite good at Gillingham, but that was in comparison with Fonte who had an asbsolute shocker. Of all the positions you'd think CB would be Pardews area of expertise. Jahdi and Fonte have been tremendous signings, maybe in time the other two lads will be great as well. Time will tell.

Tac-tics Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_6272455,00.html typical, we have 0 recognised RB's, then 3 come along at once all joking aside, possibly one for the future
Saint_clark Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Not working at the training ground this summer Tac-tics?
Tac-tics Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Nooo, we was shipped out of there back March, we only stored our equipment at Staplewood while we was doing the Southampton/New Forrest route.
Saint_clark Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Nevermind eh, the Lambert/Boro saga that morning was the most tense couple of hours of my life.
Tac-tics Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Most bizaree couple hours of mine, would'nt of recognised him had I not read the echo's website and the urgency they all walked through the office!
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 Saw the Matt Phillips rumours... His Dad works with my brother - apparently there is interest from Champ clubs and league 1 clubs but nothing confirmed..He looks a good prospect and according to his dad, Southampton would be an ideal club for him ! Make of that what you will!
Saints foreva Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 http://www.examiner.co.uk/huddersfield-town-fc/huddersfield-town-news/2010/07/21/nottingham-forest-striker-joe-garner-joins-huddersfield-town-86081-26901560/ Huddersfield have signed Joe Garner on loan. Great signing that.
Smirking_Saint Posted 21 July, 2010 Posted 21 July, 2010 What about Pittman ?? I know he isn't that great but he has the Lambert mould and a cheapish fee and some SFC nurturing he could be good ??
