Robert Pires: 'I can play in the Premier League but the challenge of getting a team like Leicester promoted is very appealing.'

So if he would go to Leicester, then maybe here if we offer him enough.

Not sure I could forgive him after scoring the winner in the FA Cup Final in 2003 :(

Yeah i agree Harper would be a massive coup, not sure if he would drop. Also would be delighted with Austin, although half the league has been linked and Adamoah looks a shrewd buy.

Not loving Parkin however

No no no Harper would not be a massive coup. I watched him in nearly every game he played at Brammall Lane and he was absolutely shocking. There is a reason Reading were so willing to let him go and a reason why he was then released by Sheffield United!

So we missed out on Freddie Adu and Nicky Bailey....so what. Robert Pires is coming. :-)

Yeah bad day yesterday and a little OTT. Just sometimes, some of the rumours on here become ridiculous and not worth reading...I know its a HCDAJFU thread but surely they have to be at least half realistic.

Really? What have you heard?

Hey a bit of fun and dreaming never hurt anyone though I agree rumours are a pain when there's no foundation. THis was just a claim that HCDAJFU. No harm in that.

Besides, as I say, stranger things have happened...http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/the-most-shocking-transfer-deals-in-history-1715310.html?action=Popup&ino=1

And let's face it, the south coast has got to be better than Leicestershire, he could become a hero here for eternity if he saw us into the PL, we've got the money so long as he doesn't go mad with his demands, AP has form buying players at the end of their careers - in a lot less better condition than Pires I hasten to ad, it's the kind of signing that will put Saints back on the back pages where we belong, he could put bums on seats.

Nothing like dreaming eh? Come to think of it, an Arsenal double through the middle with Sol might be worth considering.

Doh. Norwich planning swoop for Simeon Jackson...

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6212800,00.html

This would be a big miss for us if we didn't even try to sign Jackson! I know some people on this forum don't rate Simeon Jackson and some do, but for me he would give us that asset that is so dearly missing from our team and that is pace!

I personally think that Simeon Jackson would be a good signing because he will provide us with some much needed pace in attack which would be a major asset in away games on the counter attack! Rickie, Barnard and Connolly are all top strikers, but none of them are blessed with the sort of pace that Simeon Jackson could provide!

i trust AP to get it right in the transfer market! He hasn't made any mistakes so far IMO!

Earlier this month, football league clubs voted in favour of new rules restricting clubs' first team squads to 25 players over the age of 21, of which ten must be 'home grown' (registered in domestic football for three seasons before their 21st birthday). There will be no restriction on players under the age of 21.

Our current squad has 18 players over the age of 21 I think, so no more than 7 new signings to come

1. Kelvin Davis*

2. Dan Harding*

3.

4. Jason Puncheon*

5.

6. Rahdi Jaidi*

7. Rickie Lambert*

8.

9.

10. Paul Wotton*

11. Lee Holmes*

12. Jose Fonte*

13. Tommy Forecast*

14. Dean Hammond*

15.

16.

17. Lee Barnard*

18. Joseph Mills

19. Morgan Schneiderlin

20. Adam Lallana*

21. Anthony Pulis*

22. Lee Molyneux*

-

28. Bartosz Bialkowski*

29. Oscar Gobern

31. Ryan Doble

32. Andrei Pernecky

33. Jack Saville

34. Callum McNish

35. Danny Seaborne*

36. Garyn Preen

38. David Connolly* - Negotiating new contract

39. Aaron Martin

41. Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain

42. Ben Reeves

Ryan Dickson*

Chris Wood from WBA as Rickie's back up, only seen him put himself against Cannavaro and doing well.

Would need to see more

Chris Wood would be an excellent signing, he's a big lad and has a really bright future ahead of him. Can't see him being cheap though.

I'm not an idiot' date=' thanks.[/quote']

You got the paperwork to back that up? ;)

I once knew someone who had an official document to say he was sane. Now if you need a piece of paper to say that then.........

I have nothing whatsoever to add in the way of 'concrete rumours' of incoming players though, except to say that a friend who is part of the Green Army has heard a whisper that we are interested in Rory Fallon.

Sounds like the Gills are doing their best to get a best price for Simeon Jackson by saying they are in no pressure to sell. Personally i think he is exactly what we need.

If we sign 2 strikers, him and another like for like for Lambert, we would have 4 excellent options up front. I think we lack a bit of pace and Jackson would give us this and genuine goal threat.

Connelly is injury prone, old and maybe too similar to Barnard so i would prefer to sign Jackson than keep him.

Im sure a bid of around £500,000 would be enough for Jackson and whats more it would be an excellent addition, thoughts??

No thanks, assuming I have correct Fallon, he was the bar steward that finally crocked Marion in a preseason friendly a few seasons back. Never forgive him for that. [if not him, then sure would be a good signing, lets get him in].

Supposedly we have made offer for Chris Lines and it has been accepted - £400K or something like that. Its on one of the transfer runours sites so its probably a load of rubbish - but Lines has been linked with us by quite a few people on here so you never know.

I worked with a Kiwi who played in the same team as Fallon back in NZ as a teenager - he was amazed Fallon was now a professional footballer over here as he thought he was sh*te as a youngster. Saying that my workmate was pretty good at football and had played at a high level in NZ. He probably would have made it as a professional himself if he'd grown up over here.

Well, AP is apparently friendly with the Gills chairman, I think they may be Pards local club to where he lives. Certainly Gills are talking down the Norwich interest and, who knows, something may have been arranged by us on the quiet. AP has long spoken glowingly of Jackson and if he has contacts at Gillingham we may find an announcement after 1st July. If so, strangely, I think Jacko will not be the first Canadian international we have signed in recent years...

Agreed. SSN reporting Norwich have had a bid of 500k rejected.
