sounds like a bad injury he has, and we don't need to take crocks on anymore.

What I have heard:

 

-Dickson WILL sign but we have to go through tribunal because he is under 24 and out of contract.

 

- We have had approaches for Schneiderlin but ALL have been turned down.

 

- The new kit is based on England's shirt and is definitely RETRO- Tailored by Umbro etc

 

- Saints are talking to Reading about a loan move for Antonio or a permanent deal

 

- We have made approaches for a couple of CM's but are waiting on the situation at palace- possibly bidding for Danns?

 

- Calderon deal IS still on but talks are slow

 

- Danny Coid at Blackpool (back-up right-back there) is in talks with us.

 

- We have contacted Benfica about Adu ,we are trying to get him on loan with an option to buy.

 

From a very good source-I am passing on information from someone who knows that source (source- player at saints apparently)

Vassell = 29 and released on a free from some sh*te Greek side that I, and most probably nobody else, have never heard of! Sh*t finishing, not much skill, and is losing his pace rapidly! As for his England caps, as stated before, Heskey (the carthorse) has many England caps to his name and he is utter sh*t too!

 

I think we are gonna have to agree to disagree on the subject of Vassell Mikey!

 

AP has got it dead right in my opinion in looking to sign players with experience of the league we are playing in! Add some top players from the Championship like Jose Fonte (who is so far above the level he is playing at at the moment it isn't funny!) and you have the makings of a team that will walk league 1 next season and push for promotion from the championship the following season! Throw in a potential young Premiership reserve with something to prove (i.e Gael Kakuta from Chelsea) and that would be quality!

Ankaragacu are a respectable, top division Turkish side, kind of like a turkish version of Spurs or Everton. He was released on a free because he had trouble settling into the area and culture, which is fair enough considering he had lived all of his life in England beforehand. It's a big switch. It would also be unfair to say he's losing it as well, unless of course you're out there watching Ankaragacu play every week, in which case i'll let you off!

 

Simeon Jackson has 10 caps for Canada and 1 goal.

Darius Vassell has 22 caps for England and 6 goals.

 

England play against some of the biggest footballing nations in the world on a regular basis, potentially facing the likes of Spain, France, Italy etc in tournament qualifying. Canada play against the likes of Antigua, Bermuda and Barbados in qualifying.

 

But yes, we'll put it to bed now as we'll probably never agree on the subject! You think Jackson, I think Vassell, and that's done! :D

Apart from one decent start of a season Jackson has done nothing to convince me he should pull on the shirt.

 

Lambert, Barnard and Connelly are better. I'd take Vassell like a shot. And calling Heskey Sh*te is madness to, i'm guessing you don't get what he brings to the side ?

The Calderon point wasn't. We pulled out ages ago.

 

The adu point is also false as there has been zero contact.

actually he joined them adn then five minutes later they hit massive financial problems. He stayed despite not being paid for months and the fans loved him, but there is only so long you can play for a team without getting paid.

 

How do you know he is losing his pace?

This, massively overrated because defenders didn't realise how much pace he had at the start of the season. He soon got figured out and did sod all for the rest of it.

We have spoken to Adu but talks a couple of weeks ago were at the negotiating a fee stage.

 

On Calderon, contract talks broke down and I've also heard that Cortese wasn't sure on him- similar to the Ward deal.

If he were fit, yes good backup. But .... out injured, having surgery ... maybe not. They need to be fit and ready to play. No passengers or walking wounded this season.

To clarify, I do know what Heskey brings to the team! He is the guy that holds the ball up upfront allowing all the other players to join the attack . He is almost like a battering ram that shields the ball from the opposition's defenders and helps us to keep possession of the ball.

 

This said I still do not rate him because he is injury prone, can't get a regular place in the Villa team and he can never stay on his feet long enough to hold the ball up. The main reason he is in the England starting Xi is because Wayne Rooney likes to play upfront with him! Probably because he knocks a few of the opposition's defenders out of the way meaning Wayne doesn't need to beat as many players!

Regarding Vassell, sure HCDAJFU but he's never been prolific, even at his best with Villa he was only a one in three man but then he has played all of his football at the top flight. He has struggled in Turkey last season (not Greece) but as someone stated that was largely due to financial problems at the club.

Still, I'll laugh if the Brighton OS runs the headline "Poke the new seagulls keeper": they'll have a queue 5x round their sh1tty sportstrack stadium!

There is more to Jackson than just pace SC. Early on he was scoring from all sorts of positions. I think his head dropped when they held on to him in January as he feels that he wanted to ply his trade at a higher level and wanted the pay packet to match. Imho he will not start for them come the start of the season, AH will want to dabble in the transfer market sooner rather than later and prove his worth. Jacko didn;t keep them up proving that keeping hold of him was a bad judgement in hindsight ...just (down on goal difference).

Yep. I can only assume that the players we are tracking are too busy playing in the World Cup to finalise their new Saints contracts now.

Don't worry chaps, I'm off on holiday today and not sure if I'll have internet connection! My recent impatience re: a lack of signings will be punished by a glut of transfer activity whilst I'm away, no doubt...!

Right back - ???????

Centre Mid - Mullins/ Danns

Right Mid - Antonio/ Adu

Large Striker -Adeobola/ Akinfenwa

Speedy Striker - McClean/ Jackson

Adebola is a large striker but Akinfenwa is XXL. I'd like to see Adomah from Barnet who I remember reading Saints are interested in to increase our mobility and Harper from Reading would liven up the midfield. We need another CB too after Perry's retirement.
