The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread

We NEED a stand-in for Morgan. Look at the stats over the last 2 seasons. We're a different team when he's not playing (or a bit off-form).

.

Stand in or replacement? depends if he catches recruiters eyes at Toulon I guess.

Toulon is well known as being a market place for young football talent.

I think Pericard got signed by Juventus because he scored a shedload of goals there.

I see Lee Hendrie has been released by Derby County. He is only 32 and with a good pre season training under his belt i think could do a very good job for us.

I'd rather have Matthew Oakley back - who is the same age and a better player - and if rumours our correct could be leaving Leicester this summer.

He might come back just to get his testimonial - he was here for 12 years or something like that!

I noticed he was on the bench for the play off first leg,and omitted for the second leg.

Difficulty being how to accomodate him,Hammond and Schneiderlin..or just permetate two from three.

Has everybody forgotten about Brian Stock from Doncaster Rovers? AP wanted him during the January transfer window but NC couldn't see the point in paying around £800K for a player that we could get for free during the summer (I believe he is out of contract in the summer).

I also think that AP will buy a couple of players from whichever teams don't get promoted from the playoffs. Paynter and Austin (from Swindon) and mayber Rhodes and Pilkington (form Huddersfield). Morrison looks a good striker at Millwall and Racon from Charlton too. All players who have done it in this league. Simeon Jackson from relegated Gillingham would be another top piece of business!

I saw that as well, he seemed such a good player and do not quite understand why he has fallen from grace. Did he have a bad injury that kept him out of the game for a while? But with Derby letting him go tells me that he will not be right for us, especialy when you consider we are looking to win the league one title next season

Hendrie had a bad injury at Villa. They released him, he went to Sheffield Utd, got another injury and ended up at Derby, who have now released him. There are better options out there, definitely.

What about Michael Tonge from Stoke? Was very highly rated at Sheffield Utd, but hasn't made an impact at Stoke and has been largely a reserve player. He'd certainly boost our midfield options, he can play on the left or in the middle, and is still pretty young too. Whether or not he'd drop down 2 divisions though is another question.

3) Brian Stock

4) Craig David (CDAJFU as the new announcer; "Can I get a reeeeeewiiind St. Mary's?")

Well we seem to be linked to everyone outside the premiership at present but certain names seem to keep coming up.

Stock

Arfield

Mullins

Oakley

Danns

(Midfield)

Ward

Hunt

Spurr

Calderon

(Defence)

Jackson

O'Donovan

Paynter

(Strikers)

would be some good signings there if we landed a few of them

Giggs and Scholes - a nice south coast semi-retirement project for them.

Don't laugh - Our past is littered with classy former internationals who did agjfu-Remember the div2 promotion team from the late 70's? - Ball, Osgood, Mccalliog.

Then later there was Charlie George, Franky Worthington, and the returning Channon.

Then there was Jimmy Case ...

In that case, let's add Beckham to the list! (assuming he gets over his achilles injury) lol

Straight swap for Pulis jr. Done deal:)

Surely Oakley would be the cover for Schneiderlin that we lack so badly - and a replacement for Hammond if we want to sit on a lead

as for signing Saints fans - it's a good idea - as least we know they will want to play for the shirt!

its worth remembering that both Hudderfield and Swindon have wealthy owners - not in Liebherrs bracket - but still wealthy - and both clubs have spent quite a lot of money over the last few season for this division.

I can only see players leaving those two clubs for clubs in the CCC - and mostly because Swindon and Hudds wont and dont need to sell to a promotion rival - sorry!

After reading Jaidi's article about young Aaron Martin it confirms my belief that the kid could have moved ahead of Seaborne and will be pushing for a place in our first team this coming season. I would be very surprised if we spend much on a centre back.

That said we need a right back and mdfield strong man.

Agreed.

Fonte, Jaidi, Martin, Seaborne, Perry. CB = sorted.

My take on centre-back's is that it'll be Jaidi/Fonte with Seabourne/Martin as cover. Perry won't be around IMO. Jaidi / Fonte are championship class, so i'd only sign up another one if one became available in the Jaidi / Fonte bracket of class.

Four CBs isn't enough. Perry still does a job when he comes in.

Agree mate. Just think Perry will go. My point was, if we only have the 4 DC's left, it's only worth bringing another one in if he's as good as either Jaidi or Fonte IMO.

Just had a look at the BBC sport page and looked at some of the League 1 players being replaced. Lubor Michalik and Joe Anisayah (spelling) would make good squad players IMO

EDIT: Also Simon Francis is looking to leave Southend ( I think a few people who went to the game on Saturday rated him?)
