How many of you use Twitter?

I think everyone knows of Twitter, but are you like me and didn't really know all it entails? Till about a month ago when I signed up via my computer, I'd thought it was only available for texting on mobile phones. Not so. Indeed I'm beginning to find it's far more fun than MSN, Yahoo Messenger or even Facebook and MySpace.

I'm amazed all it involves, what a useful free commercial tool it can be and enable to contact clients, as well as people you admire or would like to learn more about.

I see a number of footballers tweet regularly as well as some coaches and managers. Do any of our Saints players have a Twitter account? Anyone know.

They have over 70 million members worldwide and run all sorts of things including monthly polls for best actor, actress, sportsman, etc. The candidates have to be twitter members, hence me asking if any Saints players have any account.

Would be interested to read of what others think, of their experiences, bad experiences as well as good. Over to you.

TBH I wasn't certain at first, but now I love Twitter.

Takes a while to get used to, but it's more fun than Facebook...which seems to have slid into a nosey b@stard's paradise.

Have got two accounts, one for me and one for my business.

I agree that it's far better than Facebook which is as Channon's Sideburns says a nosey b@stard's paradise. I've tried Facebook a couple of times but deleted both accounts. Twitter on the other hand has a lot of potential and that is why I thought it could make supporting Saints even better. I'm amazed after folk get used to you how they follow you or enjoy a chat.

I use it to follow some motorsport teams and drivers, its cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at things (Toby Moody and Jake Humphries are the best for that) along with things previously mentioned.

I thought it was the region between the tw*t and the sh*tter.

I actually signed up a while ago, when Gervais created an account (as his blog is always worth a read) but he only made 6 tweets before declaring it sh*t and closing the account. I haven't bothered with it since.

It is quite useful if you follow the right people, Saints release stuff about announcements etc on there before anywhere else as well it seems, and Solent are on there.....

Very good tool for IT workers as well, if you know who to follow you can get some real insights and put some questions into the open

I have to say I've been using it for the lone purpose of being nosey about people I don't really care about but who can be entertaining, and things I DO care about which I can't really be bothered to seek out information on. Like new football kits and the like.

I never EVER engage in any kind of conversation on there because the interface is useless and things like RT are just... lame... but it IS nice to know occasional snippets of information from certain organisations more immediately than any media other than (expensive) texts, and I use it to update my Facebook and keep me even slightly brief.

But @ messaging me on Twitter just annoys me, that's what FB is for.

Not me. I am also the only humanoid life form on the planet who has never even been on the Facebook website, let alone use it.

I might hang out on this forum every now and again but other than that I use computers to earn a living so I can go and meet my friends face to face. Personally I think people who use twitter, facebook and other so-called 'social networking' sites must be pretty sad individuals. A bit like using a dating-site. How sad!

Signed up a little while ago - use it on match day to get instant texts from SaintsWeb and SaintsFC re: the game - find it great for the game at Brighton when it they scored down the other end and it's a case of "Wonder who scored that?". Beep beep, beep beep a few seconds later and there was the answer :)

That's all I use it for TBH, although I do follow David Bumble Lloyd, his tweets are always good for a laugh!
