equalizer Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/south_east/7632930.stm And they still have to face each other twice more! That reporter sounds like he's on 40 fags a day ffs!
scott_saints Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 Did Swansea celebrate by smashing up their city? That's what real fans do.
saint boggy Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 dunno if it's just me, but when the Cardiff coach started pulling away the reporter sounded a bit like Stuart Hall (?) doing It's A Knockout!!! what is it with the Cardiff/Swansea fans,eh?? mind you , i too would have a lot of pent up aggression if i was Welsh !!:chain:
equalizer Posted 24 September, 2008 Author Posted 24 September, 2008 Did Swansea celebrate by smashing up their city? That's what real fans do. Now what bunch of inbred mutants would smash up their own town after winning a football match 1-0?
swastika eyes Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 It always annoys me when the media or old ladies in the street come out with phrases like "you can't call people like this football fans ". Of course they are football fans. Just because they like a bit of a tear up doesn't make them any less of a football fan, it just means they behave in different manner to others.
Robsk II Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 Well - it is arguable that a fan would not do something to the detriment of his club, but I guess it's one of those subjective things. Some would say a fan is just following a team, or liking the game itself, regardless of anything else.
scott_saints Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 A fan is someone who supports their team or "follows" their team. You can be the biggest thug or hooligan in the world. Doesn't mean you're not a fan.
Eyes k8 Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 Ah yes 2004 civil disorder, God sending torrential rain on you lot and a humbling defeat for you. Who would have thought it would be such an enjoyable day for you lot compared to your next and final visit to Fratton Park?
Tac-tics Posted 24 September, 2008 Posted 24 September, 2008 this is what happened a many time you lot meet us.
jawillwill Posted 27 September, 2008 Posted 27 September, 2008 I was at the game the other night and think all these reports of violence were blown out of proportion. I didn't see anything you wouldn't expect from a big derby cup match. After the game there was some inevitable taunting done by the Swansea fans from behind police lines, but no violence compared to the likes of Saints/Pompey. Apparently there were 7 arrests during the course of the evening. This includes before, during and after the match both in town and at the stadium. Its really not many in the big scheme of things. Twas a great atmosphere there though!
equalizer Posted 27 September, 2008 Author Posted 27 September, 2008 Did the Cardiff fans jump into the sea this time?
jawillwill Posted 27 September, 2008 Posted 27 September, 2008 Did the Cardiff fans jump into the sea this time? Alas no, the Liberty stadium is a bit further from the sea than the Vetch is. There were some nice, long chants of swim away though. The long rendition of it before kick-off is arguably one of the best sites I've seen at a football match.
