saintjay77 Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 I think you might end up very surprised. I would imagine the fence shakers will get that, the stone throwers will get a couple of months inside of massive community orders and the punch throwers will get 2 years... IF the police push for custodials. And whats wrong with that? If the targeted "Risk" element knew it wasnt worth getting involved in front of a shed load of Police surly the face painted mongs who have never been involved in this type of thing before should have known better? ecuk268 Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 I think that the authorities need to come down hard on these people. There's far too much fence shaking going on these days. It would never have happened when I was a boy. Next thing you know, they'll be knocking on peoples doors and running away.

sandwichsaint Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGH You are naive... have you not listened to anything I said? The people arrested were not known trouble-makers, not a single one of them. NONE of them had been involved in football disorder before... they were Saints fans who got involved as an opportunist... walking out the stadium and joined in with a large crowd. If the skates had been kept in they wouldn't have even gone in the Freeborn garage and would have walked home. If they had kept the skates in after the game then there would have been very minimal trouble and NONE outside the stadium. You are stupidly naive... let me tell you how it is normally done by every other police force in the land ( including ours up till this game ) - Away fans kept in for about 30 mins ( or however long it takes till the stadium area is clear ) - Coaches are escorted out away from the main crowds. - Foot fans are escorted as one group directly to the train station. - Away fans are escorted all the way back on the train to stop them coming back. THIS is the process every constabulary follows as a minimum, with some having 'bubble games' . Why didn't ours? You are naive. Stu, you're always mildly entertaining but you do your case a grave diservice with your hyperbole on this one; are you still in the 70's and 80's? I've seen about 10 homes and 10 aways this season and I've not seen any of the procedures that you claim that 'every constabulary follows as a minimum'. We're Cat C innit? (or A, I forget which one is the hardest ...) and I've seen Millwall H and A, Leeds A, Gills H, Charlton H and A, Pompey H, etc ... hang on a minute ... we did have your 'routine' procedures at Millwall A as I should imagine does every other team, but the days of lock-ins and mass marchings-to-the-station are (thankfully) long gone. Green Street-ers might wish it was different but the reality is that the 'ordinary fan' can travel H and A with minimal interference and inconvinience. Doesn't alter the fact that it was a monumental (deliberate?) boob by the OB to let P fans out at the final whistle but that in itself no way absolves our brave boys for taking responsibility for their own actions and let's hope that anybody who was silly enough to be filmed rattling fences and throwing windscreen wipers gets a sensible and proportinate sentence. PS Stu, why don't you bring your lads to the Gillingham game? How old are they? I'm sure they'd love it and we'd have another 2? introduced/indoctrinated into the faith; go on, you know want to. Could not care less what some moron does after a game or before a game or what ever. If people want to act the big man behind a fence then cry when the full force of the law comes down in them. Then good for them It will not effect my day an I won't lose any sleep if they go down. Even if it means for their own utter stupidity Me. I go to watch the football then go home. But if I was brain dead enough to give it te big one and act like a complete moron imj front of police with CCTV then I know I would take my punishment in the chin Delldays, by the amount of posts you post, do you have a life outside this forum? Errrrr... the days of lock-ins and marching to the stations are NOT long gone! Did you go to Millwall away? Are you sure? Any Saints fans not in colours were greeted by at least 50 met police at Waterloo, held in a pub whilst the other trains come in, marched from Waterloo with a tube train cleared for them, escorted on to an empty overland train and into the ground. Pretty much every London game Saints fans are escorted, Bristol, Yeovil, Leicester, Birmingham, Southend, Brighton, Bournemouth, Derby, Reading etc etc... you might not see it, but most games South of Birmingham the police round up Saints fans and do not allow them to walk free. My kids are 9 and 11 by the way and are not allowed to go to games because they support Liverpool
Sour Mash Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 yeah ok. Ive never been in enough trouble to make it to court so my understanding is pretty good. You see I know when I am doing something wrong and if I dont want to get arrested or fined I stop. Simple tac-tics that work. The people going to court didnt think about there actions at the time and continued to do them in front of a couple hundred police with video camera's. maybe you should point out to them the way our judicial system works as it seems they are the ones that need to read up on it. Now if the procecution are going to stand there and tell the court that these mongs are here cause they shook a fence do you really think the sentance will be up to 5 years? If that really happens then I will join the army of "lads" and protest at the inijustice too. For these people to be convicted of anything that deems a stretch inside the procecution will have to have evidence to prove they were doing more than shaking a fence. The police seemed pretty specific when they released pictures of who they want to speak too so I would have thought they believe they were worth getting hold of rather then a couple of idiots who thought it was a good idea to shake a fence. Well stop commenting then, as you don't have a clue. It is very possible (although not definite) that someone could quite realistically get something like 12-14 months jail time for shaking a fence. That is why people are annoyed. Everyone agrees that these people should have behaved and walked away. What gets me extremely frustrated is the level of resources put into to prosecuting these people and the hugely disproportionate punishments they will be given for thier crimes, especially considered in relation to so many other things that go on in our society. The vast majority wouldn't have expected to be facing the sentences that they will get, I guess they were naive and stupid.

influx Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 I don't think 5 years is long enough for this sort of scum. People might not think they've done a great deal wrong, but the truth of the matter is these people, if out in society, will reoffend like the habitual criminals they are. Society would be a better place if they were sent away for as long as possible. Whilst they are in prison we will also benefit by them not being able to reproduce and have kids who would undoubtedly grow up to be trouble makers themselves. With such poor role models as parents, these offspring would be the sort to cause triuble at school, intimidate elderly people and rob shops to buy money for drugs. The world will be a better place without the children of these scum polluting the planet and ruining it for the rest of us. The law breakers who are going to get sent down deserve their punishment and should just accept it like men, not start whining and crying for their mummies. If they can't handle prison then they should think carefully before breaking the law. And if they can't control their idiotic behaviour, then, returning to my origianl point, maybe it would be best for everyone involved, them, their families and society as w whole, if they just topped themselves whilst in prison. haha, what a prat. The police this season have not been preventing trouble, they have been actively encouraging it in the hope of arrests and justifying their presence. It seems to me Stu that if what your saying is correct then the police have changed tactics for a reason. Hooliganism has blighted football in this country for over 30 years with not a great deal changing other than cctv in the grounds. If the long term strategy is to get those who cause trouble out of the equation then surely what the police do now is a brilliant plan from thier point of view. As others have said on this thread, it's really not that hard to go to a game of football and come home without having been arrested or filmed commiting an offence. Pomey games or not. SaintSi Posted 23 April, 2010 Share Posted 23 April, 2010 They will never end up in jail, by the time 1st offence/ mitigating circumstances/ fannying around with what they're charged with gets taken into account, They will end up with a banning order, community service, suspended sentence, whatever. Secondly there is no way the police accidently let both sets of fans out at the same time. I agree with Stu's theory on that one. Thirdly, some skate threw a punch at me in the north car park before the game, Guess what? i got over it, i don't wish him five years in jail or some of the other suggestions on here, some of you are pathetic. You can go anywhere in the world, Roma v Lazio, Boca Juniors v river Plate, Inter v AC, Barc v Real Mardrid, Ajax v Feyenoord, i could go on and you'll get both sets of fans hating each other and wanting a row, thats football, its tribal, is passionate and at times is hostile and violent, its might not be right but that is how it is and that is what makes football the worlds greatest game. Say all you like about people having the choice to do what they want and take responsibilty for their actions etc and yes they do, but if any of you self rigteous cu*ts slating have lot have ever been to a football match and not shown any amount of passion, vitrol or aggression towards the away fans, players or referee especially in a game that means alot, then you are not a proper football fan. Yes the ones that throw things, or did what ever they did may have overstepped the mark, but did they do any worse than you or I wanted to do that day? did they ****, i think some people need to get off their high horse and see the legal system for what it is, a ****ing disgrace that is more interested in headline news than catching real criminals, lets face it, if we hadn't had anyone nicked for events on the 13th of Feb, if there had been no TV programme, echo headlines on no less thean 5 occasions would we still be talking about it? Of course we ****ing wouldn't, thats how much in the public interest this whole farcial affair is, iy sells papers, it makes good TV, it get people talking and it its gets the OB slapping themselves on the back with what a good job they are doing, meanwhile, nonces are roaming the streets, people are being stabbed every weekend and if you haven't been burgeled then you are one of the lucky ones, the legal system in this country is a ****ing joke. doddisalegend Posted 25 April, 2010 Share Posted 25 April, 2010 The amount of Pious, self righteous ****s on here never ceases to amaze me. My god you actually believe all that. Biggest pile of crock I've ever read. There's a difference between showing passion and a bit of banter and trying to attack someone over a game of football. Of couse if people didn't think violence at football matches was acceptable the police wouldn't be required and would have more resources and time to catch sex offenders and burglers. How many other criminals were getting away with it on that day becuase all those police we're required to watch over a bunch of grown men who couldn't be trusted not to have a ruck over a game of football. It's quite clear several posters feel a punch up at football is acceptable or even cool fine that's your right. Personally it doesn't turn me on and I can't have an sympathy for those involved if that makes me a self rightous **** I'll live with it.
Norm Posted 25 April, 2010 Share Posted 25 April, 2010 I didn't say they should be given war medals. A Blue Peter badge maybe? Perhaps a 'I'm a stupid little boy and need to grow up' badge? Build more prisons. Any political party have that in their manifesto?
Big John Posted 25 April, 2010 Share Posted 25 April, 2010 Against Swindon not only did they march their risk past the Plume on more than one occasion, they also failed to catch up with 20 of their casuals who managed to run away from the police at the turnstiles at SMS all the way to the Plume, have a fight with Saints fans for a few minutes BEFORE the police intervened... The police this season have not been preventing trouble, they have been actively encouraging it in the hope of arrests and justifying their presence. You are without a shadow of doubt an intelligent man, but alas you are also extremly stupid with it, a dangerous but thankfully a rare combination in todays society. Thedelldays Posted 25 April, 2010 Share Posted 25 April, 2010 A lot of sad little wannabes on this thread. Go to a boxing club or something. A lot of them were secretly grateful the police were there because they knew it couldn't properly kick off. They would have **** themselves otherwise. no fence here... All the fault of the police of course.. My neighbour got burgled only last week, he caught the girl who did it and very sensibly waited for the local PCSO to turn up, whacked the officer over the head with:confused: a 9 iron and buried the body under his patio. He won't be free to roam the streets anymore encouraging people to break the law and hopefully this will reduce the number of break-ins in my area. In fact I reckon that with LESS police officers on our streets the crime figures will go down and the prisons will have more room for real crims like those scary fraudsters and people who don't pay their taxis. Lees coppers = less crime?
