I will be amazed if Zola is their manager come the first game of next season

I agree Sullivan and Gold will be sharpening their knives as we speak.

I dont dislike WH per say but Id love them to go down...probably due to those two who now own them. Trying to bend rukes to help Pompey so they wouldnt lose points gained

About four weeks ago, I predicted that this would happen as Zola is bound to get the boot under their new owners and Pards was the best manager they ever had and is a ****ney throug and through. I think he'll be asked even if they stay up. Still, what does 'old' Charlie know! Double his pay and he's gone! ANd he'll take a few with him... Lallana, Schneiderlin, Hammond and Lambert for sure.

Lets face it he's not always seen eye-to-eye with Cortese especially as Pards 'wanted' only cups this season whilst Cortese wanted the CCC!

Lallana, Schneiderlin, Hammond and Lambert for sure. Well if they are paying PL fees then so be it. Thank heavens he wouldnt take Fonte in your book. he is the player above all of them who will be the hardest to replace.

West Ham look like they will stay up, so your saying those four are Premiership players. Lallana & Schneiderlin maybe have the potential but no way is Lambert a Prem striker and Hammond is barely good enough for the Championship. Pardew will not be going back to West Ham,

I think West Ham are staying up. Zola will stay and next season they will qualify for Europe. That's how strange football is...

Guess you haven't seen West Ham this season, my 5-a-side team would have put up more fight against Liverpool.

The only reason they will stay up is because Hull and Burnley are terrible with very poor managers.

The teams are so poor that even Sir Alex or Wenger couldn't do much with them. Poor players cannot be turned into world beaters by even the best managers.

If you haven't got the cash to survive or raw talent that can be perfected best stay out of the EPL.

Hull have something like the 9th highest wage bill in the league and Burnley where doing fine before Coyle left.

Is there really that much difference between Hull, Burnley and Wolves? The only difference over the last few weeks has been the form of Kevin Doyle a 5m pound striker anyone in that league could have bought.

It was obviously a WUM post. Best ignore it.

im happy wolves are staying up...2 fingers to all the dicks in the press having a right pop at mick mccarthy for doing what he did at old trafford.

regardless that the likes of man u etc have been fielding weak teams when it suits them for years..and in Man U's case, did not bother entering the FA cup one season

I don't really agree with what he done at Old Trafford because I think he could have got something from the game... the fine from the FA was ridiculous though would never have happened with any "bigger" club.

yes..agree with you there...

another one that peed me off was West Ham complaining about fulham..i mean, west ham complaining about what players another team fields..not as if they dont have previous with that..

IMO, fulham deserve every single bit of credit they get and hodgsom should win manager of the season without question..but we all know it will go to fergie/ancelotti as per normal

Just been on SSN that Pardews being lined up for a return to West Ham if they get relegated.

In tomorrows Express apparently

This is another of those "domino stories "...one paper publishes it and then other journos read it and re-write it themselves... as if they had an exclusive source.... Bu**sh*t. I say

how would going to your "beloved" club be going backwards..they have england internationals ffs

They won't have next season if they get relegated. We should not worry too much if AP was to go to West Ham I am confident that NC would have replacements lined up quickly and decisively to continue to move us forward.

I don't want us to lose AP by the way just saying it isn't the end for us if he was to leave for a club in a higher league.

I remember the "get cosy at home" story going round the red tops like wildfire...

If West Ham do go down, they'll be skint, and the prospect of working with Sullivan and Gold will put many decent managers off - constantly being criticised personally in all the tabloids and SKY. Their budget will be cut substantially - it will just be as attractive as managing us once we got relegated to the Championship. Even with the increased parachute payments, the debt is still enormous.

By the way, Alan Pardew is from Wimbledon -he's not a ****ney and was not a West Ham supporter - where have some of you got this from?

I've read he was a Fulham supporter.

He did however speak warmly about WHU in an interview earlier in the season - Times cSeptember or October - where it came across that he felt there was 'unfinished business' there.

I was talking to a Hammers fan earlier in the week who said many there rated Pardew - and still do- whether the Sullivan-Gold board do is another matter. My guess is that they would try for a name without any previous 'damage' attached to it, Hughes,McLaren etc before AP became a serious contender.

I can quite imagine the picture Gold and Sullivan will paint of a high-flying club in a brand new post-Olympic stadium (which I suspect is half why they're involved) in a bid to lure someone cheap to give them stability, like Pardew.

but it's a 5 year plan...

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN..!!!!111

This was asked at the time in this thread:

http://saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=14989&highlight=pardew+named+manager

17-7-09: We were told there is a five year plan to get to the Prem and AP has a three year contract so there is an to change manager for a 'big prem name' when we get nearer to there. The option to keep AP on, of course, remains if he is keeping up with the expectations of the management (and the fans!). There is a 'break clause' after three years if we need it without incurring massive financial penalties. However, AP knows that if he delivers on the plan then he will have tremendous rewards. This is his big chance just as it is ours.

Anyway, as others have said, this is a good appointment and it shows ambition, not lack of, to get someone of AP's credentials. He obviously has the courage and determination to succeed otherwise he would not even consider taking over what we currently have. He also knows there are tremendous expectations of him from everyone but that has probably just inspired him rather than deterred him.

It is also interesting that the management team said they would time but that they would have someone in place by the end of the week and they do it. These guys mean what they say and do what they mean and that, for me, is refreshing.

This is a very good move, I am beginning to like Fridays again - roll on next week, what will that bring! Oh, and by the way, KK and WGS were never realistic options were they?

Very interesting some of the comments on there!

This article refers to a club spokesman,Jordan Sibley...

WHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO?

Have to say I thought the same when reading this article:

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2031405,00.html

"Our task remains the same, to win our remaining fixtures," explained Club spokesman, Jordan Sibley. "Three wins from three games could still get us into the play-offs and as we all know we have the ability to do that."

Lol, we all have the odd heart bet my friend. ;)

I am still counting the profit of 13/2 JPT winners so don't fret for the kids school fees just yet...

saints winning the league with a pompey relegation would be a good one for next year IMO

I think they call it "printing money"
