You mean like at wembley

playing Carlisle every week are we?

My point is this. James may not have great pace but he certainly has more than Hammomd and Wotton and he is certainly more mobile than the other two. The emphasis of attack from a midfield minus Morgan will come from the wide players. Hammond can't be everywhere at once. Although Wotton will sit, James can run for longer and might even be a bit better at passing.

Wotton is a useful player and has great experience, but instead of faffing with the formation etc, saying we should consider James. who before his injury was improving in CM

Didn't Lambert start his career as a CM player? is James not fit yet? as CM is supposed to be his position we could just play him there.

Jamie White could fill in really well, he is an attacking midfilder really anyway, he scored a hat trick in the first half against Salisbury las week as well; I think AP could be very surprised by his abilities, he has also got two good feet as opposed to one; I will probably geta lot of stick for this but I think he would fit in perfectly.

I think the only way Lambert in midfield would work is if we played a 4-4-2 diamond with Lambert at the peak of the diamond with Connolly and Banard upfront. Still can't see it happening but it would be interesting to see it in action.

Pardew tried the diamond formation three times this season and it hasn't worked once, that would be my major reservation, now its not the time to experiment, not with so much at stake

I agree, I think it will be either Barnard or Wotton in for Schneiderlin, hopefully Barnard with Puncheon through the middle.
