Legod Third Coming Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 Good lad, great player. Nice that he is finally making his mark at Spuds. Shame he's playing for them, but good to see the boy doing well anyway.
Thedelldays Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 probably left too early... more like, probably NOT
S-Clarke Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 great goal he just scored. he will be world class
Legod Third Coming Posted 17 April, 2010 Author Posted 17 April, 2010 great goal he just scored. he will be world class What a pity he's Welsh!
Huntingdon Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 I recently saw an interview with Bale where he said he always looks out for Saints results
Window Cleaner Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 probably left too early... more like, probably NOT He left when a decent offer came in for him, to play for a 'big club' that will probably be in the CL next season. He wanted the challenge; moving on isn't just about money.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 spurs sing out song better than us Spurs in "singing about saints shocker":D
Fergie Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 Couple years ago he turned up to my Grandma's house with Totti (former youth player) so i'm putting my grandma's food and hot-dogs on the reason for his recent good form... ...just a claim to fame!! lol

Leicestersaint Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 Gareth Bale is one of the most talented players I have had the pleasure of watching at Saints in the last ten years - if he carries on the current trajectory he culd well be world class. Good luck to him.
benjii Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 I said he was world class years ago. I am proved right yet again. I honestly can't believe the government hasn't called me to ask for advice about football and stuff.

benjii Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 Were you hiding in my house answering my phone then? You should leave a note next time please. Leave it on the piano or the desk by the dining room window. Ta.
RonManager Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 Were you hiding in my house answering my phone then? You should leave a note next time please. Leave it on the piano or the desk by the dining room window. Ta. No, the Government always inform me of all phone calls they make - f*ck knows why, it's really annoying. Bloody Governments.
benjii Posted 17 April, 2010 Posted 17 April, 2010 And all their manifestos are silent on this point too. Makes me mad.

Just how terry can appeal he won that ball is beyond me, c*nt
ten hours ahead Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 In his profile on Soccernet, it says that Saints got 5 million pounds for him which could go to 10m depending on performances. If that info is correct Markus could get back one third of the price he paid for the club.

corsacar saint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 What a terrific player, for whom the sky is surely the limit.
Golden Balls Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Really coming into his own lately. I hear he was MOTM for most people against Pomp*y at Wembley. I thought he left too early but I guess I was wrong. How's Surman getting on at Wolves? Saw him in Orange Rooms last night so assume he didn't play against Fulham?
Dynamo Naive Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Agreed, How a player can run a game from LB was unreal. He really is playing well right now. Just how terry can appeal he won that ball is beyond me, c*nt He really is on fire at the moment, but he's laying LM at Spurs these days, not LB.
Dynamo Naive Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 He really is on fire at the moment, but he's laying LM at Spurs these days, not LB. Er I meant playing LM obviously. What he does in his private life is up to him.
S-Clarke Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 How's Surman getting on at Wolves? Saw him in Orange Rooms last night so assume he didn't play against Fulham? Never gets a game, doesn't even get onto the bench either and with Wolves looking likely to stay up, I'd guess he'll be looking for a move away in the summer. the last time he was involved with the squad was as an 88th min sub back at the start of feb, and he's not even injured at the moment. feel sorry for him.

Wouldn't be a bad option to come in now MS is suspended ;-)
Window Cleaner Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 What a terrific player, for whom the sky is surely the limit. Volcanic ash permitting of course:)
Saint_clark Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Wouldn't be a bad option to come in now MS is suspended ;-) If we could get him for around £500k I would definitely take him back - would probably put him in instead of Hammond.
toofarnorth Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Wouldn't be a bad option to come in now MS is suspended ;-) I would love to have Surman back here. Should try to get him on loan next season.
Window Cleaner Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 I would love to have Surman back here. Should try to get him on loan next season. That won't happen, he'll probably be just fine at Wolves next season, the step up seems to take a while as it did with Baird and to some extent Bale, that's the great advantage of the EPL, with the plethoric squads most sides have there's always a bit of time for the newer players to settle and learn and progress. Wenger says it can take 18 months for the majority of players.A game here,a game there, muscle and stamina building and some serious bench time.
Dig Dig Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 I would love to have Surman back here. Should try to get him on loan next season. Think his wages will be an issue if we wanted him on loan or to get him back permanently. Not that we couldn't afford them but at 16k a week, is he worth it? IMO no.
Smirking_Saint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 He really is on fire at the moment, but he's laying LM at Spurs these days, not LB. I know, was on about his saints days
Dalek2003 Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Mind you, he cannot ever be our Saints manager of the future after what he has done.
