Have you ever wondered where Gordon Brown keeps borrowing the money from? As I understand it the governement issues bonds (gilts) and these are being bought up by China which runs a budget surplus. It's not only the UK that is in China's pocket, it's the whole of the west including the USA.

 

Napoleon Bonaparte once said "Let China sleep for when she awakes, she will shake the world", I think he was right, but it's now too late. It may seem daft to say this but we are all effectively subjects of the Chinese Empire.

 

Can someone please explain in a bit of detail about Government bonds (gilts).

it is only a matter of time before China replace the USA as the worlds power...you know when they are ready for it as they will start with sorting out Taiwan...would be interesting to see if the USA are so eager to go to war then...

If Europe joined together a bit more, and became a lot more co-ordinated, then we could be part of the worlds next superstate.
