He was brilliant. Helped no end by us playing with width and Hammond having a storming game.

When we give Morgan time on the ball and have players making runs into the right areas he thrives and we become a different team.

Loved the goal too. Hard to tell how far out it was from our end, but it had to be at least what, 65 yards?

Sadly not there, but got up at 4:45am to be on the forum when it happened. Was there when Franny scored and that is enough for me for one lifetime.

Ditto! Got up same time to listen to Solent! Must say i got a little over excited when Morgan scored!

Same here, landed in Sydney at 8pm yesterday! Had a ticket for the game too and was a little bit ****ed off when the company sent me out here... I knew it would be one I didn't want to miss!!!

Remember him hitting the bar with a similar shot in one of his first games at SMS? At that point I thought we had a proven midfield goalscorer on our books :s

A brilliant goal and did anyone else notice that he had different boots on tonight not his usual red ones.

Well of course... and his usual ones (at least for the last few matches) aren't "red", they're black Nike CTR360s with a red heel.

He was wearing very plain black adidas adipure IIs with gold stripes at the start of the season, dunno why the change in manufacturer, maybe he didn't like the adipure IIIs.

Pretty sure he shinned the goal anyway, so not sure why we're discussing his boots :D

PS yeah I was there.

Regardless of the goal, I thought it was the best game I've seen him have for Saints.

If he be more consistent then he should have an awesome season next year.

Could this be the start of new goal scoring Morgan ?

That's a good shout. He gets in good shooting positions but most of the time he would pass instead. Maybe lacking the confidence to shoot. If he starts adding vital goals we will be even stronger. what a great goal for your first!

Absolutely gutted that I wasn't there when he scored his first goal. I try to make every game but couldn't afford this one and just knew that he'd bloody score.

might be good if you hop over the Yeovil game, too then ...or ?

and it might be his ONLY... ...(no, no perhaps not-)

It was only Claus and Frannie who ended up with just ONE career goal.

Thought Claus got 2 in the end but I maybe wrong.

One against Wolves, one against Cardiff. Both against Dave Jones.

I h ate to say I told you so BUT at the begining of the season when I was a lone voice in the wilderness telling most of you that he would be a hero by the end of the season I was not believed especially by someone who posts a lot and lives up a mountain. I am thrilled he has come on so well and even more thrilled that most of the fans have also got behind him. He is a gem we must keep him. Well played Morgan, keep it up.

There is a piece about him in the "Latest News from Alsace" today (or maybe yesterday) Says he wants to play in the EPL but by participating in our drive upwards. Even talks about the "Arsenal interest". Says that being interested in something and actually buying it are two different things. Also says that if you reallyu want something then you buy it.

It's a paying article so won't post a link but if you fancy giving your French a whirl it's up on the RC Strasbourg forum.
