SaintBobby Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 trying to do the maths. let's assume we win all 5 remaining games. we need Huddersfield to go W 2 D 1 L 1 or worse, right?
Plumstead_Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 (edited) Fantastic performance tonight, by the sounds of it. Brilliant to see Morgan FINALLY get a goal after 79 appearances and untold goal line clearances. Let the flood gates open? Confidence levels should be soaring after this result. Keep the faith boys! Bring on Yeovil [after Millwall thrash hudders]. I'll bet Huddersfield are ****ting it when they hear how we did tonight. Edited 13 April, 2010 by Plumstead_Saint
teamsaint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 without the -10 we would still have a chance of automatic promotion...................................cheers rupes.
nickfinks Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Hudersfield could easily drop points to colchester, millwall or exeter... COYR great win
Legod Third Coming Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 By 20th April we could be 2 points behind with 2 to play. I'd take that.
WGC Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 That result makes me feel so much better after trecking to St Marys in September to watch them snatch a late win against us on my boys 13th birthday. Gutted about Huddersfield score though. It was looking very good for a short while. Still you never know.... COYR's.
S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 trying to do the maths. let's assume we win all 5 remaining games. we need Huddersfield to go W 2 D 1 L 1 or worse, right? thats about right, yep. then we get in on GD.
SaintRobbie Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 What a brilliant night of mixed emotions, got a feeling this is going to go to the last game of the season with the game against Southend being a real nail biter as they used to be at the Dell but this time for a different reason! I agree... let's get this team supported at home like never before!!!! Tell you what... if next season in League 1 is like this every week... bring it on!!!!
dune Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Proud of the team. Just stay focussed on our results, I have a feeling it will all come good. I don't i'm sad to say, Huddersfield will claw their way to the play-offs. They only need 8 points from 4 games to make it mathematically impossible for us. For us to win the next 4 is a big big ask and even then i doubt it'd be enough. That last minute winner for Hudds ended our season i'm afraid.
S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 without the -10 we would still have a chance of automatic promotion...................................cheers rupes. with the start we had to the season, that is a bloody amazing achievement tbh.
SaintRobbie Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 By 20th April we could be 2 points behind with 2 to play. I'd take that. Yeah - good point as usual me old co(ker!! I think we're ****ing brilliant!!!
alpine_saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Colchester and Huddersfield could possibly eliminate each other. Its down to us now. We can do this.
SNSUN Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 We will loose at Yovil - unfortunatly - thats saints! Apparently Yeovil played very well tonight, could be a toughy, although that's what I thought tonight's game would be and it proved not to be.
Ricky Redstripe Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 whats the matter with everyone, we won Colchester lost and Huddersfield could pick up another 7 points and we'd still top them on goal difference!
aintforever Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Great result, our season hinges on Millwall winning on Friday now.
InvictaSaint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Random comment, but anybody else think Paul Merson's speech is slurred on SSN? He seems very odd to me.
Thedelldays Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Just in the car Oh my god Unbelievable game Saints were on a different league attacking Fuking awesome
dubai_phil Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Had to go out for a business meeting. Sat in the Exec Lounge at the Intercon Hotel. He didn't bat an eyelid when I asked if I could sign in to Saints player on his laptop while we talked. Did get a reaction when Lambo scored, and even the waiters came out to see what the noise was about when the 3rd went in. Then the taxi ride home, 4 & 5 go in, Walsall go ahead, I pay the taxi and Udders score two. Maybe have to spend the rest of the season in taxis. Fine result, sounded like an awesome performance. After the Tranmere & Swindon results all we can keep doing is our best.
Saint_clark Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Colchester and Huddersfield could possibly eliminate each other. Its down to us now. We can do this. It's not really in our hands though, is it.
Toomer Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 (edited) All we can do is win our games and hope that Huddersfield get beat in two of theirs. Edited 13 April, 2010 by Toomer

That would put all the pressure on them and we would have been on a run the like of which has never been seen at this club before. That would put all the momentum with us.
monkadill Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 All my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as though they're here to stay.... LOL - Sorry - drunken happiness!
saint boggy Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 what a rollercoaster of an evening that was!! must say though that the feeling of ever-so-slightly stunned pride is overshadowed by bitter disappointment at our friends from Poland........ but heyho, onwards and (hopefully) upwards!!! \\:D/
positivepete Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Great result after being one nil down. Millwall equalised in the 93rd minute, it wont be easy at Yeovil, or at Gillingham who have the best "goals conceded at home" record. But the show is still on the road.

S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 All we can do is win our games and hope that Huddersfield get beat on two of theirs. or draw and lose one, which is very possible.

They only need 8 points from 4 games to make it mathematically impossible for us. For us to win the next 4 is a big big ask and even then i doubt it'd be enough. That last minute winner for Hudds ended our season i'm afraid. OR they only need to drop 4 points from 4 games for us to be able to catch them. They weren't playing well tonight, and they'll be crapping themselves when they see our scoreline tonight. This season is very much still alive at the moment.

That would put all the pressure on them and we would have been on a run the like of which has never been seen at this club before. That would put all the momentum with us. I hope you're right. I'm just giving my opinion.
Gigersaint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Got Huddersfield down to lose against Millwall, Draw Colchester, Draw Exeter and hope we can win our remaining games, think we can at least still afford 1 draw if we dont win them all with our better GD finishing on the same 76 points.
ericofarabia Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Colchester and Huddersfield could possibly eliminate each other. Its down to us now. We can do this. Okay .... who's logged into Alps's account Sorry mate couldn't resist it
Nexstar Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Great performance from Saints but Friday is the key - Huddersfield v Millwall. 5 Points behind with 3 to play I don't think we can manage. A draw would mean potentially 3 behind with 3 to play, certainly possible considering our goal difference. And a Millwall win puts us right in it, possibly with 2 points behind and 3 to play. COME ON YOU LIONS!!!
alpine_saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 If Colchester and Huddersfield draw If Milllwall beat Huddersfield If we win all our remaining games ...we get 6th.
CanadaSaint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 We were out of this, dead and buried three weeks ago. And yet we're still very much in it, especially with the others wobbling like drunken sailors. Chins up, folks.
Fan The Flames Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Play-offs ahoy - **** Colchester & Huddersfield they can't hold us.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 That last minute winner for Hudds ended our season i'm afraid. How many times have we heard that ......ended our season. Give it a rest? Maybe we'll finish 7th, but what an exciting way to finish the season. Oh and we're not biting our nails to see if we'll escape relegation for a change
S-Clarke Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 If Colchester and Huddersfield draw If Milllwall beat Huddersfield If we win all our remaining games ...we get 6th. thats how i like to hear it alps
sambosa75 Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 This is not over. We are the form side. Huddersfield are limping to the line and have some tough fixtures remaining. They will be looking over their shoulder at us whilst we can just get our head down and see where 5 more wins in a row takes us...
Sheaf Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 OR they only need to drop 4 points from 4 games for us to be able to catch them. They weren't playing well tonight, and they'll be crapping themselves when they see our scoreline tonight. This season is very much still alive at the moment. After our 5th went in I switched to the Huddersfield commentary. By all accounts they were woeful against 10-men in the second half and loads of fans left after they went 3-2 behind. The final score will give them hope but their form has been poor - they were shocking against a very ordinary Brentford at the weekend. All the momentum is with us I think, but anything less than a win at Yeovil on saturday and it will be all over.
SNSUN Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Random comment, but anybody else think Paul Merson's speech is slurred on SSN? He seems very odd to me. That's not unusual.
Granadino Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 No, we could be 2 behind with 2 to play. That would put all the pressure on them and we would have been on a run the like of which has never been seen at this club before. That would put all the momentum with us. Sorry, where I have got this wrong? Surely it is 2 behind with 3 to play if Hudders lose on Friday?
Legod Third Coming Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 I hope you're right. I'm just giving my opinion. Aye and fair enough it is too but of all people Saints fans should never accept defeat. It's over when it's mathematically over. We wouldn't accept any different attitude from our team.

smithy Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Whatever the other results - We are doing the business and that's all we can do.
Avenue Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 ALHAMDULILLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Absolutely immense result!! Unlucky walsall, valiant efffort from 2 down with 10 COYRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 13 April, 2010 Posted 13 April, 2010 Great result, really great result at Rovers. Well done lads. Brilliant. Colchester got beat too which helps. Shame Walsall couldn't hang on, but Huddersfields confidence will be rattled for sure and they play Millwall Friday who really need the win after only drawing at Yeovil tonight. So all to play for - and a toughie at Yeovil off the back of their draw with Millwall. Still game on, and great for Saints to be extending the excitement........
