Gillingham Away

I think we should dress as one of the players.

Maybe JPT hero Papa Waigo?

That is a great idea, we wouldn't have won the JPT without him that's for sure. Was probably his inclusion that won us the game yesterady.

Would be quite easy to go as Waigo since he's a bit of a character.

Great news. Trains on 1st to 3rd May are diverted from Southampton to Woking via the coast and will take 60 minutes longer. No news yet on connecting services from Winchester and Eastleigh etc.

Yea I popped into local train station and they said engineering works from the 1st May all that weekend between Eastleigh and Basingstoke, hope they are wrong ?

This is a great idea. I think the theme's add to the atmosphere, Antti Niemi day was brilliant! Waigo is by far the biggest character in the team, we could all bring senegal flags and do the waigo dance!

Message from mrs h:

"Gillingham may be a ****ing ****-hole.... but it's my ****ing ****-hole"

I reckon this will end up as unreseved seating on arrival.

As has been said already, not a massive choice of away friendly pubs and I'd expect the local police to have a pretty strict escort straight to the ground down Balmoral Road and into the Gillingham End (home end is The Rainham End btw).

For those driving I'd certainly recomend The Honourable Pilot on Watling Street, especially for those wanting to stay overnight. On previous trips The Livingstone Arms at Livingstone Circus has welcomed away fans, but I would be surprised if they did for Saints. Near the station there is The Southern Belle, but again it's not always open to visiting fans who bring large numbers.

btw, avoid the Blues Cafe ...you will not get in.

Parking is mostly 'on-street' and hence terrible for big games like thisd one.

Whats the best route for the trains? Thinking of driving up, not sure on all this railworks malarky.

I have checked and double checked, the rail works starts on the Sunday 2/05, best route is Soton-Clapham,Clapham-Victoria,Victoria-Gillingham, if you catch the 9.00 from Soton you get into Gillingham 11.40am.

Less than 300 tickets left kids, get in quick if you want one. Wouldn't surprise me if they sell out tonight.

Thanks for that, had been putting off getting my groups last three tickets. All sorted now.

Impressive that we're selling out a big allocation so quickly.

There are a couple of safe car parks not 5 minutes from the ground for those driving.

Only recomended if you're getting there *early('ish) and ideal if you are up for blocking each other in.

PM for map location.

*1 hour + from KO.

Yep bang on Stu.

We got 4 at about 7 last night and the lovely ticket office lady said just over 200 left.

Should all go today hopefully.

Will be a good old fashion pish up then with nothing riding on it result wise

been waiting all season for this, at last ive got a game it will take mr 10 minutes to get to instead of a 2 hour drive or a 3 hour train journey, mates coming from woking and family from croydon to my house for a full english then onto chatham for a beer before heading to the will adams in gillingham for a few summer lightnings before the game

Booked train ticket yesterday, really looking forward to this now even if there is nothing riding on it! Hopefully be as good an atmosphere and performance as Bristol Rovers.

Any ideas on which pub to head to from the train station, where are the majority of fans going?

COYR!

Living in a caravan doesn't make you a gypsie saintkipinanamohaiti.

Specki for me tufter?

My great grandad grew and sold strawberrys and my great uncle sold pegs, my surname is Frankham, the king of the gypsies is called Johnny Frankham, I think I'm a bit gyppo and I have a gap tooth.
