Jilly, have you tried Soda Crystals yet, very cheap and very effective a t most stain removal.

Failing that, and if you can bear the smell for a couple of days, then white vinegar is tops.

Vinegar fact 1:

Vinegar offers effective relief from BOTH dhiarrhoea AND constipation. (Just a mouthful and hey presto).

What will happen if you take it if you have neither?

Jill darling, try soaking the stain with cold water and rub rock salt into the blood stain, then rinse the salt out. I have lots of experience regarding blood. Oh, and next time you're getting pussy pumped when the big red rooster is a crowing, lay a old bath towel down first.

You will get both.

Vinegar has many health giving properties, many people drink it daily to stave off illnesses. Vinegar is my second favourite Super Food, tomatoe ketchup being number One (contains vinegar) as it tastes of tomatoes.

There is a great little book available (101 uses of Vinegar) which I recommend people read from cover to cover.

At the same time? HOw does that work?

Every heard of Tubgirl? If not, please don't Google it.

I am very disappointed that Jaffa Cakes only come third in this list. :(

Would an internet thread count as evidence in a court of law? :D

Well the SNP guy got fired for slagging people off on twitter.

Jaffa cakes WILL NOT remove ANY stains in ANY material. FACT

Whereas ketchup and vinegar will. FACT

Jilly, come on lass, from whence did the blood come?

Oh yes. And be careful what you Google, especially '100 ways to get rid of a dead body' or 'how to cheat at insurance fraud'. Internet searches histories have been used as evidence of intent.

Hmmm! I think people were drinking wine for health reasons before they ever got around to vinegar. It's your choice though. I'd prefer a nice glass of wine.

I've always used salt to soften up dried blood on material, clothes etc. Sprinkle on the stain, and pour water onto it. Better is in you can soak the area in salty water. Then use some mild detergent once the stain pales.

I'm an expert at dealing with dried homosapien blood, but as this is being used in a court of law as evidence then I won't tell you.

Vinegar is fantastic, especially when it has chillies in it. Spiced up pickling vinegar 2nd.

Jilly hun - I googled it to see if I could find some advice for you but there's so many entries!

Google it and see - seems to be bicarb is the most popular answer.

Is there really that much interest in how to get blood out of sofas?! I worry...
