It happened in 2008 due to lack of interest in the competition and may well happen again this year. 2008 was the first time the FA felt it neccessary to cancel the event since World War 2. I saw a picture of the trophy the other day and seeing the words 'CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF INTEREST' engraved next to 2008 just didn't look right. It's a shame as I like the FA Cup, but when nobody is interested you can understand why the FA scrap it.

I think you will find they are 9/2 to get to the final and 9/1 (10/1 in places) on 90 minutes play, which is a "three horse race" - 1, X or 2. Though I understand the sentiment and they do seem long odds.

You can't ban Redknapp's face, he's a great point for debate on a forum like this. Love him or hate him he's about to redeem at least one positive point! I agree with you though, once his unprofessional atitude finally surfaced he was certainly not for us. Still, working for a foolish chairman and a rugby coach was never going to enthuse ol' saggy chops regardless of whether his heart was in it or not. Still... I wish him the best today! Skates dont desrve to be in the cup with all the players they were allowed to by and those held back from playing in the leaque games. Also Skates have probally the worst support in the country only turning up for the big games and even then they cant sell out allocation. Glory hunters will dissapear in thier 1,000s next season. Oh and lets hope skates get stuck in traffic

Very ordinary match though. Why on earth the players can't find a stud or blade that stops them slipping up, is beyond me.
