farawaysaint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 I miss when we dominated games Think the last game we walked was the JPT
Thedelldays Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 very happy....sounded a tight game..proper end to end..the ref sounded like he lost the plot for both teams very happy I have got my rovers ticket on order
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 8 points off and a game in hand! Bring on Bristol Rovers!
ericofarabia Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 That glimmer of hope just won't die. The agony continues .... LOL at the huge cheers at the final scores being read out at SMS.
Leicestersaint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 The impossible dream lives on (just about).
ericofarabia Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 New balls please!! New ring piece please
Ponty Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Posted 10 April, 2010 The teams above us will definitely be getting nervous now. No doubt about it. We only need to win our game in hand and close up by a point per game to snatch this.
B Rabbit Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Bristol Rovers suddenly becomes an even more important game....WOW! Imagine if we win that.. 5 points... 5 to go?
Psycrow Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 great result, great results. 8 points out with a game in hand? Sweeeeet
Thedelldays Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 The teams above us will definitely be getting nervous now. No doubt about it. We only need to win our game in hand and close up by a point per game to snatch this. yep...after tuesday, we have (on paper) a pretty easy run in
alpine_saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Superb set of results (a small pity Colchester hammered Swindon) Great result for us in particular. The dream lives for another day. LET's DO IT...
bender Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 If we can just make up another 2 points during next weeks two games, that would make us 6 points off going into our easy game in hand. Could then be 3 off with 3 to go. Coommmon!!
Cascadia Saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 8 points off 6th with a game in hand against oldham... Nice.
Johnny Shearer Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Yes! I'd take a 1-0 shut out if it means winning every time.
LGTL Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 With our goal difference we are only 7 points off with a game in hand.
B Rabbit Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 How ridiculous is our goal difference compared to Bristol Rovers above us? seriously.... Tuesday's game is MASSIVE
ART Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 A really vital win. As it stands, if we win every remaining game we are within reach of all teams out of the top two. The pressure is on them and they will have bigger jitters than us. Go for it Saints. Looking to the past Saints and Norwich have been promoted and relegated together several times. The omens are good. It may come down to goal difference. On that score we've nothing to be scared of. Go for it Saints. It's yours for the taking.:smt008
Ponty Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Posted 10 April, 2010 Is this the first time we've been closer to automatic promotion than to relegation all season?
B Rabbit Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 With our goal difference we are only 7 points off with a game in hand. That is a VERY good point
paris Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 "What was that about the Fat Lady" ? " I can't hear her singing" ..... COYR......
Saint 76er Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Still hanging in there! Well done today Saints, in a tight tussle. Despite the doubts, Pardew appears to have got it right as (a) we won, and (b) Antonio scored the vital goal...
ericofarabia Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 "What was that about the Fat Lady" ? " I can't hear her singing" ..... COYR...... Shes doing a gig down at Notarf Krap :supz:
Psycrow Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 With our goal difference we are only 7 points off with a game in hand. Don't think it quite works like that... If we only make up 7 points, goal difference don't really matter...
Saint Without a Halo Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Suddenly for the first time this season we are in the same 10 points as the play offs i.e the 60's we are on 60 points and Huddersfield and Colchester are on 68! makes it somehow seem that little bit closer! That game in hand is now so so crucial
ericofarabia Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Added bonus for me a nice little 10 pointer for me in the prediction league:supz:
SO16_Saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Don't think it quite works like that... If we only make up 7 points, goal difference don't really matter... it does because if were level on points we will be the higher placed team
norwaysaint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Well, we know we probably need to win the next 6 in a row, which is possible if unlikely, but now all we need, if we manage that, is for Colchester and Huddersfield to get at least one loss and one draw each. Hopefully they'll draw against each other.
Psycrow Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 it does because if were level on points we will be the higher placed team Yeah, but if we only make up 7 points, we won't be level, that's my point. anyway, today isn't a day for arguing
NY Saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Saints, Oldham and Brentford winning were great results for us, as obviously was the West Ham result Its going to make an exciting end to the season in a positive way. Even if we don't make it up this season, and assuming we can hangon to the current squad, I'm excited about next year. The foundations are in place and we're contenders. What was up with the drop "Barnard for Puncheon" move today - very brave or a little negative? I thought Puncheon was a winger? Was it meant to bring Antonio through the center more?
SO16_Saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Yeah, but if we only make up 7 points, we won't be level, that's my point. anyway, today isn't a day for arguing exactamundo - woohoo!!
LGTL Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Yeah, but if we only make up 7 points, we won't be level, that's my point. anyway, today isn't a day for arguing I think you're right, my brains hurts. Anyway, a great win today.
Dr Who? Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 it does because if were level on points we will be the higher placed team But we are 8 points off 6th, not 7!!!
SO16_Saint Posted 10 April, 2010 Posted 10 April, 2010 Yeah, but if we only make up 7 points, we won't be level, that's my point. anyway, today isn't a day for arguing I see what you mean now, and youre right. 8 points made up - in play offs because of GD 7 points made up - 1 point short
