chrisobee Posted 9 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 9 April, 2010 From notnowcato on the National thread: Really fancy Noble Alan in the 2m Nov Chase (2.15). Very pleasing on the eye, former Sweaty Champion Hurdle winner and leps beautifully. Big step up in class here.
saintkiptanui Posted 9 April, 2010 Share Posted 9 April, 2010 2.50 - Kyber kim. Can't see why it's 2nd favourite, has the beating of Zaynar. 3.25 - Seven is my number. I like the number 5.00 - Caraval. I like the colours 5.35 - Rupert lamb. I like the name. Kyber kim is the Nap of the day, anything over 5/2 and snap it up. 1.45 - Duke of lucca. 2.15 - Bergo. Just to go against chrisofthebees. How about a tipping contest tomorrow at Aintree??? all 7 races, everyone has a fictional £100 and each race you must bet at least £10. Come on Chris, start a thread for tomorrow.

frankie Posted 10 April, 2010 Share Posted 10 April, 2010 Off to the game soon..yep I know its early but I travel from the Isle of Wight and like a bloody good pint before the game :-) OK my selections plus the fictional £100 bets 1.45 I would like to see Peddlers Cross win as he has had a great season, and was also one of my rare Cheltenham winners, but he is no value so I go for Duke of Lucca, Hobbs is a good trainer and if he settles (he didnt in his bumper run) he could well be an improving sort. Selection:Duke of Lucca (£10.00 win) 2.15 A really tricky contest with many unexposed improving types.. I always say go with a horse if it is unbeaten and Bergo fits the bill, he has won 6 out of 6 chases, the drying ground should help and as long as he can overcome any traffic problems (he has only contested in small fields) he could give a good account against some of the bigger stables. Selction:Bergo(£10 win) 2.50 I like Quwetwo but all of his form has come on softer ground..there are question marks against all of these so I am going to go with an outsider. Henderson saddles Zaynar, but he also has Petit Robin, who has been chasing recently, back over hurdles (he has run twice over hurdles winning once at this distance) he could prove a good each way bet. Selection: Petit Robin (£10.00 win) 3.25 I really fancy Wogan in this, he is unexposed and has improved with each run...my only concern is that stable jockey Barry Geraghty is on Au Courant, so I will be having a few quid on him as well at a bigger price. Selections: Wogan (£20.00 win) Au Courant (£10.00 win) 4.15 Grand National...My Will...third last year, a few pounds better off this year (a lottery) Selections: My Will (£10.00 win) 5.00 A horse that I follow regularly is running in this race..Issaquah, he has been poor this season until a change of tactics saw him make all at Market Rasen where he won easily, this I believe is how he needs to be ridden, he has ability and if makes all then he will have a good chance, if he is held up then tear up your slip straight away.(he finished second in this race last year) Selection: Issaquah (£20.00 win) 5.35 Rupert Lamb...because I like the name :-) Selection: Rupert Lamb (£10.00 Win) Good luck all and well done guys for at least proving we know something about horses..not alot but something Frankie
Percysaint Posted 10 April, 2010 Share Posted 10 April, 2010 13:45 £10 win Peddlers Cross: Can continue the fine form of Cheltenham winners at Aintree this week 14:50 £5 win Kyber Kim and £2.50 e/w Celestial Hero 15:25 £5e/w Wogan, just because I had a bet on him last time he won, although he didn't impress much betting has to have some superstitions involoved 16:15: £1 e/w Hello Bud, Snowy morning, Ballyfitz, Backstage and The package 17:00: £5e/w Issaquah 9lb more than last year but shouldn't cause it to many problems (what do I know) 17:35 Using Kip's tried and tested way to loose money £5 e/w on Tale Of Tanganyika as I like the name
chrisobee Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 April, 2010 So far : Aintree 1.45 Peddlers Cross: Trained by Donald McCain Junior and ridden by Jason Maguire this five year old gelding has swept all before him so far winning all of his five starts including last time out at Cheltenham. He can win again. Aintree 2.15 Osana : Front runner, rejuvenated under Eddie O'Grady. 2nd in 2008 Champion Hurdle, 3rd in 2010 Arkle where he seemed to appreciate the better ground and ran a very sound race. Improving all the time over fences ( which means it's certain he'll fall!) he has run well here on 2 previous outings and should enjoy the faster ground. French Opera was one I was considering but is now a non runner. Aintree 2.50 Zaynar : Ran a cracker at Cheltenham down over 17f in ultra competitive race. The ground has come good for him and with Khyber Kim not sure to get the trip ( and reportedly essential to catch fresh) and now on level weights with Quwetwo must have a very live chance. Aintree: 3.25 Wogan : Young improving sort, not much to chose between him and Carlitos. However, the latter is inexperienced and never gone well at a sharp track. Wogan took a big rise in the weights after Doncaster but pulled a long way clear and will love the ground and is a past course winner here over fences. Aintree 4.15 The Package : Not a race I'm going to get involved with at all, not going to break the habit of a lifetime. However, The Package should have won IMO at Cheltenham and would love to see him get compensation today.

chrisobee Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 April, 2010 5p stakes, need to find a banker, Peddlars cross in the 1st?? help me. Bankers ? No such thing except in a one horse race preferably on the flat and running as short a distance as possible! Peddlers Cross is indeed my pick but Bygones of Brid presents a live threat, hope that helps ! Hugh Taylor has gone for Wogan so I'd be inclined to NAP that one. chrisobee Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 April, 2010 HT in full, I'm looking closely at Rookery Rebel in the 5.00 since I can't seem to find anything to unlock this very trappy contest. 2.15 AINTREE 1pt win NOBLE ALAN (6-1 Bet365, 11-2 general) 3.25 AINTREE2pts win WOGAN (11-2 Sportingbet, 5-1 general) 4.15 AINTREE1pt each way ERIC'S CHARM (50-1 general - Bet365 are 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5) 5.00 AINTREE 2pts each way ROOKERY REBEL (50-1 Bet365, Victor Chandler, Bluesquare)
chrisobee Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 April, 2010 Ok, the final 2 races which must be just want punters need after the Grand National ! Anyway, after much deliberation and soul searching I'm going to plump for these little beauties: Aintree 5.00 BallyBriggan -Win. Available at 12/1 (General)/Thumbs Up - e/w. Available at 20/1 (General) : This race was won by a real trend buster last season and now that it has been downgraded to an Amateur/Conditional race the a few more trends may fly out of the window. Plenty of these hold chances as befits a market which goes 12/1 bar a favourite trading at around 13/2. Ballybrigan is an improving Novice hurdler who gets into this race on a decent looking mark of 123. His four races over hurdles have come at 19/20 furlongs but he gives the impression he would be just as effective over two miles off a decent gallop. Both his hurdle win and Bumper victory came on good ground so the drying conditions are in his favour. Thumbs Up produced a better performance last time out after two disappointing runs. He is a keen going sort so he could be suited by a race run at a decent gallop and he gets faster ground for the first time since his reappearance. C/D winner last season he has a good turn of foot when on song and, although yet to win a handicap, he looks weighted to do so. I wouldn't discount the Hugh Taylor tipped Rookery Rebel though TBH for a small ew punt. Aintree 5.35 Rebel Rebellion – e/w. Available at 20/1 (Sportingbet) : Not a race usually to get too involved in from a form perspective, with so many unexposed types. However, the word is that Charlie Mann’s horse Rebel Rebellion is a lot better than his price suggests, and he warrants a small E/W investment. chrisobee Posted 10 April, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 April, 2010 ATR tipping challenge, slightly different from my TSF tipping challenge tips which only shows how undecided I am ! 1.45 Duke of Lucca £15 2.15 Osana £20 2.50 Celestial Halo £15 3.25 Wogan £15 4.15 The Package £10 5.00 Ballybriggan £15 5.35 Royal Rebellion £
