RonManager Posted 12 April, 2010 Posted 12 April, 2010 Weymouth? Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt041:drinkers::supz::prayer::smt038:smt026 Sadly relegated from the Conference South this season.
krissyboy31 Posted 12 April, 2010 Posted 12 April, 2010 Actually, come to think of it, I think it's Elm Park, Reading.
RonManager Posted 12 April, 2010 Posted 12 April, 2010 Actually, come to think of it, I think it's Elm Park, Reading. Seconded.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 12 April, 2010 Posted 12 April, 2010 Tis indeed Elm Park. The only stadium I've ever fell asleep at.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 12 April, 2010 Posted 12 April, 2010 Right, how about some old school Euro grounds?
Gorgiesaint Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 Nice one Oxfordshire Saint, have to say struggling with most of these but I'll take a couple of shot's - one confident, one not so sure: 1) the old Stadium of Light in Lisbon 2) This one I'm fairly sure is De Meer, Ajax's old ground
saintsdan Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 3.) Barcalona's Olympic stadium, home to Espanyol?

oxfordshire_saint Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 3.) Barcalona's Olympic stadium, home to Espanyol? Correct again, only replaced last year. Anyone else for the remaining two? One is a Champions League regular, the other appears now and again but is one of the larger sides in their country.
oxfordshire_saint Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 4. Spartak Moscow? 5. Olympiakos? Nope and nope! The last one is blue, so deffo not Olmpiakos. They're a similar sized club though in their own country.
Townhillsaintsfan Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 is 4 a ground in the czech republic? if it is Ostrava?
oxfordshire_saint Posted 15 April, 2010 Posted 15 April, 2010 is 4 a ground in the czech republic? if it is Ostrava? Tis not. Give you a clue (or two), it's in Germany and it's no longer in use. The other stadium nobody has got is also now defunct. Both belonged to large sides who have sinced moved to state of the art stadiums.
Townhillsaintsfan Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Schalke? Im guessing this is the team that appear now and again in Europe?
Gorgiesaint Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Schalke? Im guessing this is the team that appear now and again in Europe? Think you're right Townhill. Is the last one Porto's old stadium, Das Antas? The giveaway is when they did the last expansion, they dug out the athletics track & dug down so the lowest ring of seats are seperated out as they are the newest seats.

Schalke's old Parkstadion and Porto's Estadio das Antas, since replaced by the impressive Dragao.
The9 Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 (edited) Haven't been on here since I said "Eastville" but l'dol when I saw all the south west grounds listed, cos I've been to most of them ! Ninian, Weston-S-M, Gloucester... weirdly not Twerton though, despite numerous opportunities. And I got Elm Park and thought it was the Olympic Stadium pre-roof, fwiw. :prayer: Edited 16 April, 2010 by The9
stevegrant Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Correct again, only replaced last year. The Montjuic really was a terrible ground, no atmosphere, the stands are miles away from the pitch, no wonder Espanyol still didn't even fill it when they played Barcelona.

Yeah I went there last June, pretty run down place and wasn't surprised that Espanyol moved. Did look quite impressive outside though.
Townhillsaintsfan Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Velodrome Marseille? Not too sure cause I think it might be a little to small to be that.
doubleonothing Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Looks like the one in Cyprus. Name completly escapes me. Limmasol?
oxfordshire_saint Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Looks like the one in Cyprus. Name completly escapes me. Limmasol? Yeah, it's definitely Cyrpus' national stadium, but I have no idea of the name!
oxfordshire_saint Posted 16 April, 2010 Posted 16 April, 2010 Anyone fancy a stab at this one? If you've ever followed England in a tournament, you might have been here
oxfordshire_saint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Anyone know this badboy? One of only two "matchbox" stadiums in Europe (that I am aware of!)
Townhillsaintsfan Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 I think there is something like it in Holland
ben05 Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 Anyone know this badboy? One of only two "matchbox" stadiums in Europe (that I am aware of!) Veltins-Arena ? Gelsenkirchen.
RonManager Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 (edited) Eastville? EDIT - No, it's not. Edited 18 April, 2010 by RonManager
Gorgiesaint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 (edited) Anyone know this badboy? One of only two "matchbox" stadiums in Europe (that I am aware of!) That would be Vitesse Arnhem's Gelredrome. Edited 18 April, 2010 by Gorgiesaint Tsk spelling!!
oxfordshire_saint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 I think there is something like it in Holland Closer than the Veltins Arena guess! (which is the other one I know of)
oxfordshire_saint Posted 18 April, 2010 Posted 18 April, 2010 That would be Vitesse Arnham's Gelredrome. Spot on
Gorgiesaint Posted 19 April, 2010 Posted 19 April, 2010 Gotta say The MC, that one appears to have beaten everyone.
The Majestic Channon Posted 20 April, 2010 Posted 20 April, 2010 Gotta say The MC, that one appears to have beaten everyone. That was a bit hard yeah, anyway it was Lille.
Gorgiesaint Posted 20 April, 2010 Posted 20 April, 2010 (edited) That was a bit hard yeah, anyway it was Lille. Sorry Majestic, can you check that one cos the way the junctions are set up, it must be a UK ground. It certainly isn't Lille's current ground (which has a running track), haven't checked out their old ground. Edited 20 April, 2010 by Gorgiesaint Photo
