dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Anyone else going to be listening to the game on saintsplayer? I will be, c'mon Oldham.:smt071
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 after tonight we can either hold onto the hope for a bit longer....or finally start preparing for next season in L1.
ludgershallsaint Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 after tonight we can either hold onto the hope for a bit longer....or finally start preparing for next season in L1. Au contraire. I find it difficult to believe that Huddersfield will calmly stroll through their last 7 games with automatic promotion form gaining at least 14 points. The best prepartion for next season is winning as many as possible in this season.
beatlesaint Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 On paper this is probably Huddersfield's easiest game. They wont lose tonight, we need to look elsewhere for them to slip up.
John B Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 after tonight we can either hold onto the hope for a bit longer....or finally start preparing for next season in L1. Even if they win tonight does not mean they will get more points than us but a draw or a loss would be ideal
itchen Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 True. But matches aren't played on paper. On paper we should have cruised past Orient but it made hard work of it. It's not inconceivable that Oldham will put in great performance. Well, I can dream can't I?
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 On paper this is probably Huddersfield's easiest game. They wont lose tonight, we need to look elsewhere for them to slip up. Oldham won at the weekend and lost narrowly (3-2) away at Brentford the match before. I don't think it'll be an easy game for Huddersfield and if the nerves are starting to jangle then who knows.
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Oh dear, both the Huddersfield and the Oldham commentators are shocking. Why do Northerners sound so bloody miserable?
krissyboy31 Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 On paper this is probably Huddersfield's easiest game. They wont lose tonight, we need to look elsewhere for them to slip up. Oldham will be bang up for this tonight. Huddersfield is a derby game (only 20 miles apart) for them, even more so because it's Lancs/Yorkshire.
farawaysaint Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Oh dear, both the Huddersfield and the Oldham commentators are shocking. Why do Northerners sound so bloody miserable? You've been up north surely
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Oldham will be bang up for this tonight. Huddersfield is a derby game (only 20 miles apart) for them, even more so because it's Lancs/Yorkshire. Correct. Pigeon fancying, whippets and the war of the roses IS THE NORTH.
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Oldham are on top at the minute, the locals shout OUT OUT OUT.
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 oldham dominating by the sounds of this, locals are getting restless.
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 LOL, Huddersfield have a squeeky Dave Merrington.
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 trotman is still a saint, sounds like he's having a mare so far.
itchen Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 LOL, Huddersfield have a squeeky Dave Merrington. Has he said "What they don't want to do, Chris, is to concede a goal"?
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Oldham are the better side so far. 61% possession!
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Squeeky "Oldham making all the passes and playing all the football"
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Squueky " Trottman not comfortable on the ball and can't pass the ball from the back"
Stu Man Do Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Just noticed that the lad in Oldhams goal is Daryl Flahavan ex southampton keeper hopefully he'll make his most important performance for us tonight and shut out 'uddersfield!
S-Clarke Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 ******s huddersfield score, they have been completely dicked for 40mins
SuperMikey Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 On a side note, Messi is tearing Arsenal a new asshole. First half hat-trick! 3-1 after 43 minutes.
Saintandy666 Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 **** sake, a draw would be alright tonight tbh, if hudders win, I think it is over.
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 They still have to play colchester.... If things stay as they are huddersfield will be on 68 points with 6 to play. I feel the most we can get is 74 points so it's not looking good for us.
Andy_Porter Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 You lot really should be watching the Arsenal - Barca game rather than clinging onto the feint hopes of a play off spot.
Stepgar Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Udders have had 1 shot and scored from it. Typical!!
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Switch to the Oldham commentary. Oldham uv sturted where they left off from fust half.
Appy Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Switch to the Oldham commentary. Oldham uv sturted where they left off from fust half. Does that mean they have let another goal in?
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Does that mean they have let another goal in? nah, stil 1-0. It's difficult to judge how exciting the game is because of the monotone northern accent.
yorkie Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Think Oldham are far from out of it loking at stats on BBC... Come on Oldham get the equaliser FFS - then go and get a winner!
dune Posted 6 April, 2010 Author Posted 6 April, 2010 Oldham are enjoying most of the play, but they don't seem to be threatening much.
Ponty Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 I hate to say I told you so..... Boll*cks. You love it.
Saint J 77 Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 I'll say this purely because I am hoping for the opposite effect but.. it looks like the dream is over for this season now ...
Tom8558 Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 We all expected Huddersfield to win this game comfortably and they're only winning it 1 - 0. If they play this badly against some of their other fixtures then the play-off hopes are still there.
benjii Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Well, if there is a positive it's that Huddersfield are making hard work of this. As did we, to a certain extent yesterday. I'm sure they will drop some points, but will it be enough! It's a cliche but there's nothing we can do so I just hope the lads can finish this season on a high.
StuRomseySaint Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 (edited) We all expected Huddersfield to win this game comfortably and they're only winning it 1 - 0. If they play this badly against some of their other fixtures then the play-off hopes are still there. It's like watching a kid see his beloved dog being put down and watch him trying to convince his mummy that Fido is still alive. Edited 6 April, 2010 by StuRomseySaint
saint_bert Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 In public I've been saying it's over Deep down I've had hope Sadly that's fading
ludgershallsaint Posted 6 April, 2010 Posted 6 April, 2010 Huddersfield will not get 79 points. I reckon they get 4 or 5 from the next 3 after tonight.
