Crowds flock to Fr@tton P@rk

More than enough evidence? A separate poster using the same IP address and with similar views as myself? Is it one username per household from now on then Steve?

I would be interested to hear on what grounds you wish to get rid of me as well? Posting a valid alternative opinion? Not all Saint's fans start frothing at the mouth at the mere mention of Portsmouth and some just appreciate the much needed rivalry they provide.

We are no better then Portsmouth when it comes down to filling our ground and so a thread based on some misdirected oneupmanship I think it should be challenged. Yes we have a bigger fan base allegedly, although how that can be proved I am not sure and yes we had 50k at Wembley but they sold out their FA Cup Final tickets didn't they and in any event where are all our supporters red and blue now? Not even 50% of our Wembley turnout bothered to come along and greet the team at the first home match since that win.

Remember, I am an old school football fan and was bought up in a family who followed both red and blue for many years and still enjoy seeing both clubs do well. In my case I am a completely committed Saints fan but at the same time respect the role Portsmouth have played in our history and one I hope they continue to do so in the future.

Or are you simply prejudiced against allegedly retarded c u n t s or posters who report such ignorant abuse?

If you consider removing me perhaps you should consider dropping 'forum' from the title although you seem happy to let Portsmouth fans post their views or perhaps your particular branch of prejudice runs a little deeper?

so it was you then

Do you remember 'Eyeskate' (or something) from a while ago? He loved percentages when glossing over their sh*t crowds.

Should just point out that in their (first) short "Golden Era" they never filled fartton park, they got a couple of crowds just over 50k (thanks to many Saints fans and servicemen boosting their gates) but was generally well short of the 58k capacity. That's at best around 85%, most weeks considerably less.

However, 19c (self-confessed Leeds/Charlton/Saints/skate fan) and Corpy surely can't be serious defending their shocking home crowds as a Premier League club.

Oh yes, nearly forgot......CHEATS.

If you don't wish to respond privately to the email I sent you then fine, I'll post on here instead.

I've given you more than enough opportunities to stop being a complete and utter **** on here. Every single post is made with an angle with comments made designed to wind people up and generate a flamed response. I've done my best to give you a chance to post without getting retaliatory responses, but if you won't help yourself then I can't be arsed to waste my time anymore. You should be aware that I'm the only one out of all of the admin team who has been willing to give you any sort of a chance, but as I said, yesterday's antics were the final straw for me. I can't go on defending the indefensible.

I'm sure you'll register another load of usernames, and rest assured, when we find them, they'll be banned as well.

I have no issue with you holding an opinion. That's what a forum is for, and I've defended your right to hold those opinions more times than I care to remember on here. What I'm not prepared to defend is the clear way in which you post those opinions to generate vitriol in response so you can then report the perpetrators in some sort of mock indignation that people might not like the way you act on here.

As it goes, as a result of your post, I've just made my decision.

Cheerio.

Amen to that.

They are now trying to desperately get rid of FA CUP SEMI FINAL tickets by giving them to anyone and everyone who is on the database... and still not selling them. 32,000 as well.

Now here we can draw a comparison... we took 51,000 to a paint pot trophy against Carlisle, they are struggling to get 30k to and FA Cup Semi-Final against Spurs.

How many tickets could we sell in the same situation? At least double imo.

Is that an official figure - I thought we only had 44K tickets...??

We were given extra and also Club Wembley ( which was almost exclusively SFC ) ... A Wembley spokesman said the official figure was something like 51,148 ( there is a link somewhere )

Also, if you look at the segregation, it's easy to see we had more than half of the 90k capacity stadium.

My point just now was that I (and presumably the other admins) was completely unaware of it until I just happened to notice the comment I highlighted above, not sure which threads he'd posted in previously but they'd obviously slipped under the radar.

It goes without saying that while we attempt to keep up with everything that's going on, we do all have our own jobs to do outside of the forum so can't always read every single post and thread, which is where we rely on the diligence of everyone else to report anything suspicious :)

I'm not being funny but you lot let Scooby post for ages despite it being obvious that he was just a plonker on a wind-up who enjoyed ruining threads. I reported it loads of times and I expect others did too. The biggest WUM by far and you let him post for months.

So at least they're being consistent.

Ummmm you could well be right - took this on the day and we do appear to have filled over half of the stadium by some way.

Me too. I like his contrarian views , I dont always agree with them but so what ? Who cares if he upsets some of the bed-wetters on here ?

His views are not and never were the issue. As I mentioned in a previous post, I actually agreed with a lot of them. However, the manner in which he posted (particularly yesterday) made it very clear that he was posting with the intention (note: not an acceptance of them because of holding a minority view, the intention so he could then report them) of getting flamed responses.

He then made the schoolboy error of making it obvious to people that he was posting from multiple usernames, which is a banning offence on its own.

As many know, he often got a reaction from me, but I will miss the enjoyment of the cut and thrust that answering his posts and dissecting them or debunking them involved.

I'm sure he'll be back under yet another new name!

But 19 insists that as the IP address was the same and that it is a possibility that the user names referred to either other members of a family, or other occupants of the same address, which one or more of them will it be?

Of course, the other possibility is that it was just one individual with multiple personalities, as Um Pahars insisted. I must confess that I miss his contributions too.

I'm reliably informed that UP may be returning in the not-too-distant future after today's developments.

I agree that Granty defended 19thc from many who wanted him out, and has been very fair. I haven't seen what 9teen did yesterday but it must have been pretty bad. I do hope it is not a case of appeasement to get former memebers back on. 19c gave a good account lots of times.

I hope he gets another user name and stops the snipes at MLT etc which does irritate many who then retaliate.

This is, unfortunately, completely and utterly untrue. The cheapest adult tickets are for two small sections in the Milton (away) end and the North stand at £20 a time. All the other sections are around £38 for adults minimum. I've posted the link below so you can check it out for yourselves

if we are talking about inaccuracies, half of the Apollo stand (1500), both wings of the North stand (1000) and the family section as well (500???) - that's quite a few seats available cheaper than the quite ludicrous £38.

And that argument of C*rpys doesn't stand up either... if it was down to price of tickets, then surely the £20 tickets would all be sold out???? Hmmm I am sure I see them areas of the ground week in, week out.

They had a problem earlier in the season where fans didn't bother trying to get tickets in these areas simply because they were not well publicised and people didn't know or expect them to be available. In recent times these areas are pretty much sold out and everywhere else is empty so ticket price does have a considerable bearing.

That said a few skate mates and former season ticket holders just can't be bothered to get tickets these days. Once you are out of the habit (they stopped because the £650+ ST price was "beyond a joke") it is hard to start forking out again, especially when you tend to lose week in week out. Even so I still thought they'd get a semi final ticket. I mean they might win, you never know. How bad would you feel if you missed out? After a terrible season I'd lap up a game like this.

Still plenty of tickets left!

MASSIVE support.

I can't wait to hear C*rpys excuse on not being able to shift 30k Wembley tickets... we could have sold 70-75k Wembley tickets for our tinpot trophy day.

Why the feck do they always reiterate that they are a 'true footballing city' ?

lmao...

this would be funny if it wasn't for the fact you can guarantee the tv commentators will w&nk about how amazing their support is on Sunday.

Hope Spurs embarrass them, 5-0 up by half time.

...they have finished selling to season ticket holders, members and anyone on the database.

The ticket office is opening on Saturday, with tickets on general sale - no previous buying needed - have at least 2,000 left to sell

Thats the thing, other neutral football fans won't see any empty seats and the media will tell anyone listening how wonderful they are, it will make me sick, it will also make me sick to see bagpuss celebrating getting to Wembley, think I'll give it a miss.

Like I've said before though, if the commentators ever give our fans the same compliments as they do with Pompey fans, you'd know what a joke of a club we are.

Looks like they might sell them all then, there will just be a large amount of fans in their end with no colours on with slightly more convincing mockney accents.

You really shouldn't feel the need to defend them in any way, as Avram told us all they've got "250,000 fans" and should really be able to fill a little ground each home game between them. It's just that most of them are always doing something else on matchdays.

They struggled to sell their Wembley tickets a couple of years ago too.

In 1992 I qualified for a voucher to buy a semi-final ticket for their match against Liverpool (when they'd only spent one season in the top flight in over 30 years) by virtue of pitching up on spec at Fratton to watch them play Millwall as I was bored. First time I'd ever been, made the mistake of going in the stand with that bell-end in it.

Some things never change.
