PMSL. Is this another one of those attendance threads that I'm always accused of starting? (even though I can't start threads).

Love the way you girls always conveniently forget the times you couldn't sell out the massive 15,000 capacity Dell. Still, let's not let that detract from Stuey's ****athon eh?

PS: Loving the "Lambert for England" thread on the main board too.

You have absolutely nothing to laugh at us about

Lambert is far better than all your strikers, by the way.

You have a point Corp in that some Saints fans are disturbingly obsessed with Pompey and their attendances.

Regarding the Dell, we used to see that out pretty regularly. The Empty seats were only there when ST holders were on holiday.

Lambert for England is a bit tongue in cheek, but more entertaining than the "Belhadj for Algeria" thread I'm guessing they have on PO.

Nice to see you still laughing when you could be about to be relegated in the first weekend of April.

TBF I think that this is purely because we are always having it rammed down our throat that they are "The Bestest Fans in the World™" by the pikeys AND the meeja, when quite patently they are not. They are not even the "Bestest Fans in Hampshire™"

Lol, Corpy, think you'll find we pretty much sold out the Dell every time when it was 15,000. Every now and then official attendance might slip into 14,000 something but using your mathematical argument, that is still over 90% (or thereabouts etc)

after Hillsborough Bradford Heysel and pre the PL hype all clubs faced reduction on crowds.

You are going back 20 years, to a time when we had a 15,000 capacity stadium and for a couple of games there was a boycott... apart from them few games you couldn't get into The Dell for toffee... infact there was a waiting list just to be a member.

You cannot defend it in this day and age... 16k... AND once again you were giving tickets away just to get it up to that number.

LMFAO

You have to be a special kind of **** to keep up such a ridiculous smug veneer in the prevailing circumstances.

Really, I bet he is disliked by just about everyone who knows him. An absolute ****, disliked by colleagues and acquaintances alike, with very few genuine friends.

What a tosser.

SRS?

Bit of a standing joke in our house at the time -

- guess the attendance ...err 15,252. I was usually 5 or 10 out but knew we were selling out most weeks. Now our attendances are a bit more realistic, in excess of 20k, occasionaly 30k.

And thats in the third division ffs!!

haha!!!

You are in deep financial trouble, fighting for your premier lives and yet you cant sell out yet another prem game! You all go around with the notion that you are the bet fans in the world and yet, when it comes down to it, you dont give a ****!

When were these times that we didnt sell out the Dell? Waiting list for season tickets, waiting lists for memberships! And as someone else said above...we had more for a L1 game v Hartlepool midweek!

Enjoy your relegation party next week...once the league get hold of you watch the points and punishments come think and fast!

The point is Crabby, your fans on here are telling me that there was a huge waiting list for tickets at The Dell. That's apparently not the case because even a brief glance at Soccerbase

http://www.soccerbase.com/results2.sd

shows that there were more than the odd occasion when your crowds dipped below the 15,000 capacity of the Dell. League cup crowds of 10 - 11,000 against PL opposition, plenty of times when the crowd was 13 - 14K (and I just looked at the 98/ 99 and 99/ 00 seasons). Now, that may be around 90% of capacity but the point is you couldn't even sell out 15,000 on a pretty regular basis. So quite why you lot this obsession about Pompey's crowds when they're considerably above that figure is laughable.

As for the "bestest fans in the world" thing, there may be a few Pompey fans who think that's the case, just as there are at most clubs (your own included - I know because I've seen it written on here). But you're right, there are plenty in the media who regularly write that our fans are very vocal and I suspect that rankles because I very rarely see them write anything like that about you lot. And it seems to hurt you lot.

Oh, I forgot to mention - I think your crowds this year have been pretty impressive. However, I also think it's fair to point out that you have been offering special deals like the £5 offer for the Hartlepool game recently so I wouldn't crow about it too much. With the exception of two small areas in the Milton End and the North Stand we're still being asked to pay £30 - £40 a ticket to watch a team that was effectively relegated before a ball was kicked and is having any money we paid sip[honed off to Chainrai's BVI bank acount. I'm surprised the crowds have been as high as they have been in the circumstances

If it's the ticket pricing that's the problem, can you answer why it is your 'offer areas' like the Milton and North Stand which are the ones which have the empty seats? Surely if your excuse stands up then it would be the expensive seats which were not sold out and not the cheap seats?

You have been GIVING AWAY tickets... I am not talking small amounts... my old mans firm gets AT LEAST 20 pairs of tickets for every game, and that's only one business!!!

Corpy... there was just under 2000 away tickets in the East Stand at The Dell... these could not be segregated. There was a waiting list just for the memberships and the Season Tickets were capped... and full EVERY season. So if an away team brings 500 fans down, the 'sell-out' attendance immediately drops to 13,700... do you not get this?

Put your hands up and admit your support is pathetic... Wigan of the South.

Be interesting to see how many of your 'support' turn up next season.

Just out of interest how many fans do you think have deliberately boycotted going as they were making a protest against the plethora of owners and the money laundry regime versus those who could not be bothered?

98/99

14,762 - 500 under capacity against Nottingham Forest, could be fair to say this was away fans... even if it wasn't, it is the only fixture apart from Wimbledon which was not a complete sellout.

14,354 - 800 under capacity against Wimbledon - I think it would be fair to say this would have been Wimbledon not selling their allocation, wouldn't you?

99/2000

14,207 - Derby, fair to say they would have bought 1,000 down for a midweeker? Which takes care of the 1,000 empty seats... every single other league game was a complete sellout... if you are honestly going to say that because the attendance fluctuates by 100 or so it's not a sellout then you are clueless.

I hope this has pwned you enough.

Deal with it Corpy, your support is sh!te.

So both clubs do deals to draw the punters in - you'll probably find that 95 percent of clubs in the football league do likewise. Therefore let's just cut to the chase and discuss current fan figures - yours are absolute poo, while we continue to put most CCC and some Prem clubs to shame. They are the facts.

Is that all...pfffff.

For the Birmingham game recently, Mrs B Rabbit's school was given 200 tickets...and they aren't even in Portsmouth....more Fareham way......and that's just one school in the region, i'm sure plenty more were given out......18,460 for that game.

Did you find any more straws to grasp at yet?

Idiot. It was indeed impossible to get into the dell most of the time. And concerning your expert research, did you consider away fans while you were devising your cunning argument?

Give up. Go home. You have no excuse for not selling out that shed.

Considerably less than those fans of ours who chose to stay away last season and run the risks Pompey fans now face. It makes of laugh that at times some posters can be so delusional it beggars belief. Perhaps i was one of the 11k at the Sheff Utd game last season who still can remember asking the question where have all the so called supporters gone ?

16k in relative terms dwarfs our efforts when the chips were down and we couldn t even deliver a coherent supporters association let alone a plan. Time to reign our thick necks in a touch ?

Never really get why the media ****s over your support. All the times you've come to Southampton it has been nothing but ****e. Especially in the cup game this season, didn't sing until the 80th minute.

The difference is Numpteen, that when we went into administration and got rid of your buddies from destroying the club, more and more people came back to support the team and attendances shot up, or have you conveniently forgotten this?

Since Pompey went into admin their attendances have continued to drop. Perhaps their holding a boycott over the administrator??
