.comsaint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 My thoughts exactly. It's almost as if it's Alpine speaking... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2012696,00.html
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 "I had to pick a side that I thought was going to cope with this terrain" We've long since proven that changing our game to suit the opposition/conditions will not work. We need to play OUR game. Sorry AP, but you're wrong here IMO.
John Boy Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Its nice to see that our manager and team still believe that the play offs are still a possibility........................ un like a large number of negative numpties on here who seem to live in a Football world detached from reality: some of them do make you wish that we had gone bust last year just so that you did not have to read the clap trap that gets posted following our most successful season for a few years.
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 "We didn't have David Connolly available unfortunately for personal reasons" Alpine, will you retract your rant at Pardew for dropping Connolly?
Bald Headed Jesus Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 I like AP but I was there and there was no way we bossed that game, that is delusional.
St Landrew Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Well I suppose after reading what Pardew has said, the only thing we can do is back him. There's no point in recriminations now and there is very little room for maneuver, at this stage. The next two homes games have to be won, nothing else can be considered. Then we'll see where we are. It's after games where results haven't gone as well as we'd hoped that we show whether we are Saints supporters or just whingers.

We need to play OUR game. Sorry AP, but you're wrong here IMO. Have to agree, didnt know certain players were suited to certain terrains lol. Soon enough instead of buying a forward or a midfielder, we'll be buying an all round soft ground, preferrably muddy, best in the winter months sorta player
Dalek2003 Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 What kind of terrain was that. I thought we were playing on a football pitch ?
lordswoodsaints Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 The best thing pardew can do now is prepare for next season because he is going to be under intense pressure to deliver.
JustMike Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 he still got it wrong imo by starting 4-5-1. Must have LB and RL up front to stand any slim chance of playoffs
ludgershallsaint Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 I have reassessed last night's result. Could turn out to be a good point. 6th place won't be 80 points, might not even be 78. We're big favourites for Monday (Orient play Saturday) and then we have Charlton. 5 of last 8 at home.
alpine_saint Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 "We didn't have David Connolly available unfortunately for personal reasons" Alpine, will you retract your rant at Pardew for dropping Connolly? Where did I accuse AP of dropping Connolly ?
Guided Missile Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Where did I accuse AP of dropping Connolly ? Dont be silly, I am disappointed that AP has put a strange team out again. Perhaps he didn't have much choice. With a squad like that ? Where the f**k is Connolly ? HTH
alpine_saint Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 HTH So, where did I accuse AP of dropping Connolly ?
Guided Missile Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 So, where did I accuse AP of dropping Connolly ? Obviously when you questioned the fact that Pardew didn't have a choice in who he selected, in particular, Connolly. You really should practice your native language more, Fritz...
alpine_saint Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Obviously when you questioned the fact that Pardew didn't have a choice in who he selected, in particular, Connolly. You really should practice your native language more, Fritz... Nope, thats you putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, I am afraid. I was thinking of Waigo and Barnard when I answered Window Cleaner. Maybe it is you who need more practice, Johnny.
Guided Missile Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Nope, thats you putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, I am afraid. I was thinking of Waigo and Barnard when I answered Window Cleaner. Sorry for that mistake, Fritz. Obviously the name "Connolly" is Austrian German for "Waigo and Barnard". I shall be more careful in the future, on the rare occassions I read your depressing and obviously desparate cries for Anglo-Saxon discourse, that are your posts.
buctootim Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Have to agree, didnt know certain players were suited to certain terrains lol. Singeon Sears Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 I agree that its a good point gained. The problem is we are all in "must win every game" mode, myself included so my initial reaction was anger, but on reflection I think it was a good result. I am frustrated that we seem to keep placing emphasis on the opposition when setting out our tactics, especially away from home, rather than imposing our own game on them
Guided Missile Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Horses for courses....or in the case of Wotton, donkeys...
alpine_saint Posted 2 April, 2010 Posted 2 April, 2010 Sorry for that mistake, Fritz. I shall be more careful in the future. Apology accepted.
