ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Team Davis; Otsemobor, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding; Antonio, Wotton, Hammond, Puncheon, Lallana; Lambert. Subs: Bialkowski, James, Barnard, Seabourne, Perry, Papa Waigo, Mills. Nicked from Window cleaners post;)
VectisSaint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Team Davis; Otsemobor, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding; Antonio, Wotton, Hammond, Puncheon, Lallana; Lambert. Subs: Bialkowski, James, Barnard, Seabourne, Perry, Papa Waigo, Mills. Nicked from Window cleaners post;) Seems a bit defensive to me, especially with Barnard on the bench. Thought we had to win. No Connolly either.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Seems a bit defensive to me, especially with Barnard on the bench. Thought we had to win. No Connolly either. It's a very flexible line up though with Lallana, Puncheon and Antonio all capable of swapping positions and supporting Lambert up front. I'm pretty happy with that team.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 It's a team well capable of winning. Coyr!
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 "What Saints players would you have named after stands?" The pundits on Solent can't even speak English properly.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Seems a bit defensive to me, especially with Barnard on the bench. Thought we had to win. No Connolly either. Seems ok offensively to me Punch Lallana Antonio lambert All attacking players with Harding and Ostemobor on the overlap 3-1 Saints
Legod Third Coming Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 "What Saints players would you have named after stands?" The pundits on Solent can't even speak English properly. Freddie Northam maybe?
VectisSaint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Seems ok offensively to me Punch Lallana Antonio lambert All attacking players with Harding and Ostemobor on the overlap 3-1 Saints But look at the bench, Mills, Perry, Seaborne, James. Would have preferred to see Barnard playing, after all he is the league's second highest scorer!! Its not too bad, just the initial view I had, we should be going for a win if we really believe we can make the playoffs (not that I do)
alpine_saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Can anyone comment on what our formation looks like yet ?
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Can anyone comment on what our formation looks like yet ? It kicked off literally 44 seconds ago.....
Dr Who? Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 We seem to struggle in recent years against Brighton.... Head Draw Heart - Win
farawaysaint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Not convinced by a 4-5-1 but all of those midfielders bar Wotton who's a DM can be dangerous going forward, should be exciting I feel bad Papa's lost his place though after the JPT but considering Antonio's performance he was never going to be dropped. Would have liked to see him ahead of Puncheon though.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 It kicked off literally 44 seconds ago..... are we winning yet?
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 are we winning yet? No, maybe we should get a new manager in before half time.
S-Clarke Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 No, maybe we should get a new manager in before half time. scrap that, we need to replace him during the first half if we are to have any chance. alpine is my shout.
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Eurgh, i'd forgotten about that hideous "seagulls" chant.
alpine_saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 FFS, whats with all the sarcasm ? We must win this game, and it appears we have a defensive line-up. Whats wrong with being exasperated ?
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 oooooooh, lambert looking sharp is he wearing his new 'cup final' suit?
Window Cleaner Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Brighton have a chance but it goes over the bar
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 FFS, whats with all the sarcasm ? We must win this game, and it appears we have a defensive line-up. Whats wrong with being exasperated ? Fonte, Jaidi, Wotton, Davis as defensive players. Hammond at a stretch. Lallana, Antonio, Puncheon, Harding, Otsemobor, Lambert as attacking.
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Seb Carole, who was once on trial with us, is causing a few problems so far.
Saint_lambden Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Lee Hendrie on the bench for them- completely forgot he played football.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 And the fact that, defensive line up or not (not) we should beat Brighton
VectisSaint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Fonte, Jaidi, Wotton, Davis as defensive players. Hammond at a stretch. Lallana, Antonio, Puncheon, Harding, Otsemobor, Lambert as attacking. Happen to agree with Alps, 1 striker, league's 2nd highest scorer on the bench and Connolly not even in the squad. I agree its not totally defensive but neither is it the team you would expect if you were looking to win. Why such a defensive bench? Not really bothered, sure AP knows what he's about.
St Landrew Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 FFS, whats with all the sarcasm ? We must win this game, and it appears we have a defensive line-up. Whats wrong with being exasperated ? Patience Alps. 5 mins in. Last week we were 4-3-3 until Hartlepool scored.
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Calderon (Diego?) down the right, ball played in and spooned over the bar by Murray.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Another chance for Brighton, over the bar again Dave says they should be 1 up.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 Before anyone gets overly concerned, It's 0-0 in the Chile Vs Venezuela match....
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 FFS, whats with all the sarcasm ? We must win this game, and it appears we have a defensive line-up. Whats wrong with being exasperated ? 10 mins gone, that is whats wrong.
St Landrew Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Um, woot? Still too early? Yes. You get that one for free.
Saint_clark Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Another chance for Brighton, over the bar again Dave says they should be 1 up. Another? It was the first chance of the match. :smt119
SO16_Saint Posted 1 April, 2010 Author Posted 1 April, 2010 Europa League Macca: "Also in action tonight are Brighton and Southampton, who have qualified for the Europa League quarter-finals through their mid-table status in League One. Not really. They've just kicked off though. "
Window Cleaner Posted 1 April, 2010 Posted 1 April, 2010 Before anyone gets overly concerned, It's 0-0 in the Chile Vs Venezuela match.... I really needed to know that, mind you I do have a great uncle who played for Chile in 1962
