not to wish to cast a damper on this...but you mean watched live...not just watched.

I doubt the international Tv rights for Sunday were worth tens of millions.

Still amazing to have been there though!

More than Bashley vs Farnborough too. Although, to be fair, there were 2 ponies at the Bashley game and none at Wembley (as far as I could tell)

If we take the number of Saints fans at Wembley on Sunday as 51,000, then I suspect this was the largest number of fans of any UK club away from their home venue in the modern era. I doubt if it will be surpassed any time soon.

According to the Telegraph we are record breakers - Come on you reds!!!

An attendance of 73,476 was not only the highest at any football game across Britain this weekend but even surpassed the numbers who watched the equivalent of the FA Cup final last season in Spain, Italy and Holland. With almost a quarter of Southampton’s entire population estimated to have been at Wembley, it was also an occasion that underlined the potential turning of the tide along the Hampshire coast.

I was at the Liverpool v Bruges European Cup Final at the old Wembley

Liverpool must have had 90,000 fans+ in the 100,000 attendance

Same as Man Utd v Benfica in the 60's

Yeah, but many of us who were at Wembley don't live in Southampton - there were plenty of Saints fans passing through Victoria heading off to their homes - but maybe as we're plastic fans they don't count us ?

And through Paddington. Our train up from Swindon had a good number of Saints on there.

Many a tractor travelling up from Devon/Cornwall and a lot of converted Janners carrying their pitchforks with the red and white colours tied thereon......The pitchforks were for use against any stray Pompey supporters....

As I said in an earlier post 'These journo's really do use poetic licenceto the full '. There were hundreds of us from the Midlands area (NOT PLASTICS - just supporters) and ask Yorkie how many came down from the North East? Incidentally 'How much is a quarter of the population of Southampton?' Dibden Purlieu Saint don't live there but he WAS at Wembley! As were many others.Just because we don't live in 'Swampton' for whatever reason don't mean we ain't Saints. COYR

How many did Rangers take to Manchester the other year for the UEFA Cup final, OK , most didn't even have tickets, but wasn't it millions and millions or something.
