landford.saint Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Time after time on here I hear a small but vocal minority on this forum who seem intent on undermining Alan Pardew. With comments about some supposed bust-up with Cortesse, or misquoting some dodgy peice of journalism. So far this season (league wise) we have lost 8 matches. So in your eyes AP must go. So far this season (in fewer matches played) Manure have lost 6 matches and Aresnal have lost 5. Are you sugesting Ferguson and Wenger must go. Norwich (6 defeats) and Leeds (7) both in automatic promotion spots have lost only 1 and 2 less than us respectively. We had virtually no pre-season. Have had almost a total change of personnel (with all the team bonding problems that brings), and the first 10 matches with alot of the dregs from last years squad was at best described as cr@p. What is it with some of you guys? Do you take some perverted pleasure in winding people up, or do you really believe some of the venomous drivel that you write on here some times. At the beginning of the season we would all have been happy with a mid-table finish. With 9 games to go we have already achieved that. We have had a good day out at the JPT and brought back the first bit of silver in decades. And there is even a very, very remote chance if everything falls our way of making the playoffs. Pardew out? You must be acomplete and utter zoomer
Huffton Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 How dare you make such a reasonable, balanced post as that.
NorthamSteve Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Now I've polished my eyes, I would say that it's people winding others up. It's worked. Nevermind.
trousers Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 I've just done a search and couldn't see any "pardew out" quotes (apart from those done in jest) Apologies if there are some examples and I missed them
Turkish Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 FFS dont start using the no preseason excuse again. Everyone knows that winning our first trophy in 34 years and an upper mid table finish with a team constructed during the season is not acceptable.
Legod Third Coming Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Calm down, calm down dear. It's just a commercial. We can all spot a berk from a mile off. Just take a wide berth.

You must be acomplete and utter zoomer Whilst I have no particular preference whether AP stays or goes your argument is flawed. Our problem isn't with matches lost it's with matches not won. You compare losses and then don't mention that Man Ure have only drawn 3, whereas we have drawn 12.
Saint_Jonny Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Best off trying to ignore the WUMS, which is rich coming from me because I always bite!

Our problem isn't with matches lost it's with matches not won. You compare losses and then don't mention that Man Ure have only drawn 3, whereas we have drawn 12. I think the comparison is flawed because Alex has been at United for 43 years and is a f u cking God. Oh and has spent in excess of £600m on players during that period. But hey, otherwise perfect comparison.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 To be fair, I have complained of this previously, BUT, even the most vocal have calmed down recently. Either way, let's hope we still make the playoffs. Even if we lose, that is fine, as the target was just to make them. COYR

The argument is based on comparing chalk and cheese and it went over my head a bit. 23 years by the way.
Dalek2003 Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 The same ones that forced Sturrock on us after they undermined the re-appointment of Hoddle in 2004. They nearly succeeded in bringing the club to its knees once and are obviously intent on doing it again.

The argument is based on comparing chalk and cheese and it went over my head a bit. 23 years by the way. Is that true?? Feck me... There are two management Gods and I hope they end up playing each other in a few weeks. If Pardew could end up being half the manager, we would be blessed indeed.
niceandfriendly Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 After I watched the Swindon away game, I admit to doubting Alan Pardew. What a fool I was. This season has been great fun, and it's an unexpected surprise to be so close to the play offs (not to mention a Wembley victory). We're lucky to have a manager like AP.
niceandfriendly Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Pardew Out No. That's an extremely personal and difficult decision and we shouldn't force him to tell anyone if he doesn't want to.

You must be acomplete and utter zoomer I would of happily taken mid table at the start of the season and most certainly after the first 10 games but now we have the awful wembley trip and cup to bring home and possibility of the play offs, that certainly wasn't in my predictions, Pardew out.
70's Mike Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 not sure but is it moaners = non regular attendees at games satisfied = regular attendess over last 5 seasons
niceandfriendly Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 not sure but is it moaners = non regular attendees at games satisfied = regular attendess over last 5 seasons I think this is very close to the truth.
docker-p Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 I think the original poster is mixing up talk about AP's relationship with NC, which there has been a fair bit about, and talk of whether AP should be removed at the end of the season, which there hasn't. For what is worth, and I've said this plenty of times, if Saints are within 10 points of 6th place his job is secure, if Saints are outside that, expect a new manager next season. And before anyone jumps down my throught, that is what i think will happen, not what i want to happen. And as i think we will be comfortably within 10 points of 6th place, AP can relax and book his summer holidays.

An awful lot of posters regularly come up with stuff like "AP should have done much better this season" and "Midtable is simply not good enough". I think that's what the OP is referring to. They're welcome to their opinion of course, but most people tend to agree that AP has done a good job this season.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 AP has done a good job so far. Peoples should just support the club ffs
Badger Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Pardew is great... end of those who disagree can **** off

saint_stevo Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 yawn. No pre season, lucky to have a club etc
chrisobee Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 yawn. No pre season, lucky to have a club etc Yep, reasonable, true points aren't really controversial are they Stevo ?

View From The Top Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 not sure but is it moaners = non regular attendees at games satisfied = regular attendess over last 5 seasons Unless you are called Weston or Derry where you want Pardew out as you don't rate his tactical nouse and don't hide the fact.
alpine_saint Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 not sure but is it moaners = non regular attendees at games satisfied = regular attendess over last 5 seasons Nope, just you starting yet another p*ssing contest it seems. I see enough variation on the "just back from the game" threads to know that if somebody is either stupid or just doesnt get the sport, it doesnt matter if they attend every game and the training sessions.
saint_stevo Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 not sure but is it moaners = non regular attendees at games satisfied = regular attendess over last 5 seasons No. it isn't

I see enough variation on the "just back from the game" threads to know that if somebody is either stupid or just doesnt get the sport, it doesnt matter if they attend every game and the training sessions. The fact remains Alpine that not one person who regularly attends the game thinks we aren't making acceptable progress.

I'll let you work it out...
saint_stevo Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 The fact remains Alpine that not one person who regularly attends the game thinks we aren't making acceptable progress. I go regularly, and think we should be doing better in the league.

AndyNorthernSaints Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 I go regularly, and think we should be doing better in the league. but you don't rate any Saints players and think every player is crap.
saint_stevo Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 but you don't rate any Saints players and think every player is crap. I think Wotton is crap. It is also my belief that Antonio needs more time in the reserves/lower leagues before being first choice on the wing. His final ball is often poor. that is all

You must have told everyone that Antonio is crap at least a hundred times even though he is a young player not long out of non league football and man of match away to Franchise in JPT and pretty good at wembley.

Most of the team? Really.......... i say it as it is. Antonio scored a good goal away v MK no doubt, but his distribution was poor, and generally his crossing is below the required standard. Good at wembley, hold my hands up, even mentioned he was my MoM on the MoM thread.........
View From The Top Posted 31 March, 2010 Posted 31 March, 2010 Great reply. It happens to be the truth. He's been loaned to us by Reading so he can get experience for them by playing in the lower leagues.

Maybe the enforced cuptied changes made a difference and the system suited his style of play better, who knows, but I thought he was great on the day.
