SuperMikey Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Wasn't going to go originally, but after hearing a few weeks ago that Arcade Fire and The Libertines were playing on the same day, I couldn't pass it up. Just secured my day ticket for Saturday at Reading, looking good so far! http://www.readingfestival.com/ Anyone else going?
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Hopefully I'll be getting my Saturday and Sunday tickets as couldn't give a **** about Guns and Roses - I am bored however of reading "Our server is currently down".

Blink 182 and GNR just don't appeal to me in the slightest. Perhaps if it had been 'classic' GNR, then I may have been swayed, but this is just the Axl Rose Experience. Blink have always been sh!t, and will remain so.
saint lard Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Of course, if it had been classic G'n'R that would be a different story as they were iconic in the studio and awsome live....but don't knock the new incarnation. Chinese democracy was a pretty damn fine album, imo.
IamLeGod Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Got myself a Leeds ticket seeing as I look to be based up in this dirty part of the world for the foreseeable future. Quite excited. Never been to Leeds. Did Reading '06 & '07 (still got the '06 wristband on - is it obvious im a student?) All over the Friday (Saturday at Reading) - Modest Mouse, Maccabees, Dizzee Libertines and Arcade Fire sounds pretty great. Also quite excited about Weezer, always been a massive fan - heard they are great live.
SuperMikey Posted 29 March, 2010 Author Posted 29 March, 2010 Interesting, as I thought that Chinese Democracy was absolutely gash. It couldn't really decide what genre to be. Nevertheless, i'm sure they'll put on a good show!
IamLeGod Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 (edited) May find it hard to pass on G'n'R purely because it is them (well maybe not strictly THEM but you know what I mean). Though I have to agree personally Chinese Democracy wasn't for me. Suffered the same fate many other bands do i feel. Write an amazing album (Appetite for Destruction) and, quite rightly, become the focus of much adoration and attention. From this point seemed to struggle to hold themselves together both personally and musically. This is all, of course, my very humble opinion. Though LCD soundsystem were very good when I saw them at Reading '07 Edited 29 March, 2010 by IamLeGod
Saint_Jim Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Got a ticket for Sunday (working Fri and Sat this year) line up is 1000% times better than last year, Friday- Quality main stage would watch all the acts, NME tent that day really not my thing possible Delphic if i had to choose. Saturday- Mainstage would definately see Gaslight Anthem and Dizzee unlike The Libertines and Arcade Fire where i would rather be set on fire. NME tent is good would see all the acts and big fan of Enter Shikari and Pendulum so would spend the later part of the day in there. Sunday- The options are endless Limp Bizkit, Blink, Cypress Hill and Weezer are favs of mine for years and years without seeing them before so will be must sees for me, NME tent would watch Foals, We are Scientists and klaxons (although there **** live) but the main stage means i probally wont get a chance unless one of them clashes with Paramore
Ponty Posted 30 March, 2010 Posted 30 March, 2010 I'd love to go on the Friday to see QOTSA and GNR but my boss already has that day off... I'm weighing up the value of a day's ticket just to rush down for those two bands in the evening. It's either that or Leeds on the Sunday...
Giamlarrahan Posted 30 March, 2010 Posted 30 March, 2010 Got my weekend ticket, couldn't really be happier with the line up. Sunday is just... Fantastic, imo. The Libertines will be amazing and I'm sure Axl and friends will put on a great show as soon as they can be bothered to get on stage.
