Kingsland Red Posted 28 March, 2010 Posted 28 March, 2010 Can't find it posted and just back after a brilliant day - first trophy I've seen Saints win after 22 years ! Thank you Markus, Nicola and Alan. Great moment as AP goes along the 'royal box' platform and hugs NC. Hopefully will now shut the media up and they accept that a CEO is employed to demand results, rather than the media make mischief. Proud of the Saints family.
ottery st mary Posted 28 March, 2010 Posted 28 March, 2010 Totally agreed..Well done Saints... Fantastic result for all of us. COYRs
InvictaSaint Posted 28 March, 2010 Posted 28 March, 2010 Thirded. Top chaps, top day. The first of many, I am sure.
.comsaint Posted 28 March, 2010 Posted 28 March, 2010 Will Markus be paying for the open-top bus trophy parade around the city by any chance?
St Landrew Posted 28 March, 2010 Posted 28 March, 2010 (edited) Will Markus be paying for the open-top bus trophy parade around the city by any chance? I don't know. I don't think it has been arranged, in any case. Mind you, Saints seem to be paying for everything of late. I notice even that Lee Molyneux's loan out to Port Vale has been made possible because Saints are paying all his wages. Port Vale get a free player, and we get a better, match fitter one if, or when, he returns. I suspect the first we'll see of the JPFL Trophy in Southampton will be on the pitch at St Marys. Oops, nearly forgot. Thank you Markus, Nicola, Alan and everyone else responsible for making this season the most enjoyable one at Saints for quite a few years. Edited 28 March, 2010 by St Landrew

Proud of the Saints family. Agreed, barring a few hiccups we've had a great season since AP got his "Winning Mentality" instilled in the team. It's fantastic to think that now , IF we go behind we still believe we can win it, rather than the old mentality which we used to have of , 2 goals ahead , ah we'll draw or lose it then. I love the passion that's now back in the club, reminds me of the 80's / Keegan era.
iansums Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I think we should have a whip round and buy Markus a decent camera.

patred44 Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 A threat to all this unity is looming... News is breaking that Zola has walked out on West Ham and has already left the country. Zola flew home to Sardinia yesterday to consider his options I hope it not true, I have a lot of time for him, and I think Gold and Sullivan have treated him like ****e. If it is true.. look out for them trying to get Alan Pardew from us by hook or by crook

If it is true.. look out for them trying to get Alan Pardew from us by hook or by crook If they are relegated ( and I think it highly probable they will be), Their future looks just as rosy as the Skates and I reckon they will plummett too. I think Pards will prefer to see through the rise of the Saints rather than the Fall of the Hammers!
saint1977 Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 A massive thank you to Markus, Nicola and Alan and his staff for restoring the club's pride and building a great foundation where we can really kick on from now. Markus will be getting his camera out for the L1 title presentation next season and after that who knows. I love Cortese's comments in the programme - doesn't just want to settle for 27 years of survival and have the academy produce just individual headline players and the investment will hopefully be there to ensure this can become a reality. I've been to some great sporting occasions - FA Cup, victorious Ashes series, Barbados in 2004 with the Barmy Army, Hampshire winning the FP Trophy - but nothing tops yesterday.

happiness stan Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Bumped into Markus and Nicola as they left Wembley, shook their hands and thanked them for the day. Nice bonus meeting, also met Matt and Franny outside. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as we were.
paulwantsapint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Get the Pope Archbishop of Canterbury & any other religious figures to get Saint Markus of Southampton Well done Nicola & Alan now lets carry on the good start

Met Franny up in Club Wembley, and when he came down the whole bar area started chanting at him. Seemed to love it!
