Didn't Sky play that up? I'm not sure they were boos for him, just poor journalism

it was boos for him...markus was on the big screen and everyone was cheering, when the camera move over to NC you could hear plenty of boos

 

already, some are turning on him it seems...pathetic

I didn't hear anything of the sort! If anything he got a cheer at the end!

at the end yes...but not at the start when he was on the big screen...

 

not that it matters now....but I thought at the time it was embarrassing..

I thought I heard a murmuring of boos when he appeared on the screen. Hard to tell watching on TV. Sky definitely played it up though. Media making a mountain out of a molehill again with regards the Pardew situation.

Because they're booing him because of stuff almost entirely made up by the media. That's pretty embarrassing from our own fans.

I would think it very unlikely that it is a made up story by the Media from various stories I have heard

Thought the little I heard at the game was more pantomimish (good guy bad guy) and not done with any venom!

 

Loved the bit where Marcus fiddles with his camera and takes his own pics! The man is a pleasure!

Can't say I noticed it on the Sky, but they did keep bringing up the S**te stirring which has been caused by that Hack Samuels. Lets not let this grow out of proportion, & deflect from the goals in front of us.

I just hope NC as he's done to date stays quite on this & lets it die a natural death. Any comment no matter how supportive would have the usual reaction from the press of turning it into kiss of death. NC is a no win situation by commenting on this.

The boos for NC were loud and clear and I don't think Sky made a fuss of it at all - probably got the right amount of comment given the distinct difference from the response ML received.

You are playing a part in "making this a mountain out of a mole hill"!

 

It's quite pathic really - we have just won something in a very very long time (maybe a mickey mouse cup), so just enjoy the moment and stop trying to be a drama queen!

 

For what it's worth NC said we (yes WE, not AP not the players but WE - i.e. everyone at the club) are disappointed we are not doing better in the league after the amount of investment, support etc. And he is absolutely right! No story here, no drama - get a life!

 

If and when (and I very much doubt it) he actually sacks AP there might just be a story! I am off to have yet another beer and pretend we just won the world cup (yes I know it's not a club competition - but who cares :-))

We will get promoted to The Championship in the near future but winning the JPT is great for us after our recent disappointments and we should let Pardew take us forward without undue Pressure.

The SKY commentator, and especially Gary Birtles, made far more of it than has actually been said by all concerned parties, which is just typical of media these days. I notice they didn't comment positively when, at the end, Nicola gave all of the players and Pardew a warm handshake and hug, as they passed him while collecting the trophy. Of course, there's no story in that.

When the screen showed Markus there was a big cheer, when it showed Cortese there was silence.

 

That Birtles commentator couldn't say a positive thing about Saints all day

See where you are coming from and a valid point. I just think that NC is not really critising AP, but expressing disappointment which we all feel. You could argue if this should be done in public or not, but for me I am glad he shares the same fustration as the fans - let's not forget NC is new to football PR, and other than politics I can think of no other profession where literally everything you say gets scrutized to the last degree. If I were to take every comment my boss made to me to heart I would have either tooped myself or him years ago :-) Come to think of it ........ move over Gail Platt :-) :-) :-)

Ditto, cheers for Markus, silence for Nicola. I posted about it during the match thread. If there were boos, then it would been from a tiny minority of those there.

I heard a bit of booing quite clearly in 536. Seemed to stop as quickly as it started though. I did wonder if anyone had thought the camera had cut from Markus to someone connnected with Carlisle or something. Small downer on an otherwise great day if any of us think there's any need to boo NC when we're at a Wembley final. That, and the idiot who decide to suggest to one of the Help for Heroes volunteers that the money they were collecting wouldn't go to charity. In the unlikely event you're reading this, I doubt you'd put it to any better use.

I was in block 233, and there were boo's from behind me and above when NC was shown, but it could have been at the same time as the waves.

 

i thought the booing was to carlisle fans when the mexican wave didnt continue, probs a coincidence?

I heard a few boos in 538, very disappointed in the fans considering the work that he's put into this club. He's a very ambitious bloke, so naturally he'll want to get the best results and put pressure on the manager and players, that's just how he does things. The media have cottoned onto that and made it look like he's trying to force Pardew out of the club, when it was ML and NC who appointed him at the start of the season and said he was here for the long term.

 

Did notice he wasn't looking very happy though, and neither was Pardew considering he'd just won a cup.

It was for the waves and it was only a small section of the crowd doing it. When NC came on the screen the vast majority of the saints fans were pretty silent.

 

I think today went a long way to illustrating what saints fans think of AP. Sky were making a mountain out of a molehill. Sky LOVE hype.

No one's moaning. TDD started the thread here to say that it was uncalled for. I heard it while watching the match on TV and thought the same thing. This is nothing to do with performance, the team or complaining about every little detail. This is to do with some muppets booing the chairman who had played a major part in getting their team to Wembley while at the match.

 

Its like booing Santa on Christmas Morning when he arrives with the presents because you heard a rumour he was a little harsh with the elves.

Good to hear it was for the waves. They weren't seen on the TV and the possibility wasn't even mentioned by sky.

It was because the Carlise fans refused to carry on a mexican wave in the top tier that there was booing...

 

just coincidence that Cortese was on the screen.
