for_heaven's_Saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I loved Paul Wotton going mental at the end!
bug187 Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I went mental when carlisle scored. Netted me 750 quid lol
SaintRobbie Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Will there be an open top bus procession through Southampton? I bloody hope so!!!
Foxstone Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Fantastic Day Only just managed to log on my computer after celebrating it so much :drinkers: Not our best performance by any means but hell, who cares! Antonio's goal was an absolute class finish and in fairness, he shaded Rickie and Dan Harding as my MOTM.. Now for the play off push...
sussexsaint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I think Marcus taking his own pics paints a thousand words! I LOVE SAINTS. I absolutely loved that!
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Our support was awsome!! What a performance!! What a result!! What a day that was!!!.................FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! I Love this club!! Thank you Marcus!! Thank you Nicola!! Thank you Alan!! We are a fantastic Club AGAIN! COYR

Norm Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I had a fantastic day and our support was superb! Great result and whilst the game was not a classic, we won. Well done to the Carlisle fans that stayed and applauded the Saints players as they did the lap of the pitch.:smt041
alpine_saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I have seen Papa's and Antonio's goal. They were both cracking attempts. Would be happy if both stay.
jjsaint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Great day out. Almost had tears in my eyes when they lifted the cup, thinking about where we were this time last year & how far we've come.
Master Bates Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Fantastic day, the tears were there, thank you Markus Liebherr, Nicola Cortese, Alan Pardew and the players. Bought the Echo today, has a pic of Liebherr taking a pic of Waigo
Bucks Saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Only just able to type. Brilliant day, never to be forgotten. Thanks to everyone at Saints! ok minor moan. Would have liked more (any) singing before we got to 3-0. It was a cup final FFS and I was surrounded by silent hordes. But we won so who cares!
Saint Billy Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I cried buckets when I got to my seat, the saints support was just mind blowing!
nickfinks Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 What A day, just arrived at work, head very sore, it took so long to get home and we drank way too much on the bus, lol brilliant, fantastic day. Thank you Marcus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we all owe you so much. COYR
Andy_Porter Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Anyone else manage to miss two of the four goals? Such a mong, I hardly ever miss the start of the second half not sure why I did yesterday. Shame Schneilderin had to miss out, any word of his injury? Hopefully nothing serious.
S-Clarke Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Anyone else manage to miss two of the four goals? Such a mong, I hardly ever miss the start of the second half not sure why I did yesterday. Shame Schneilderin had to miss out, any word of his injury? Hopefully nothing serious. failed a fitness test ahead of the game - so he must have been quite close to playing, so i'd guess he'll be concidered for the brighton game. he looked fine during the celebrations anyway!
ant Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Brilliant fun, hope this is going to become more of a regular occurrence! Not the most sparkling of performances, but after their initial pressure we stifled them pretty well and took a decent percentage of our chances. Not sure what game some people were at if they think the atmosphere was cr*p. Admittedly I was a bit worried as I was in the cheap seats and thought it might be dead. There were small spells where we were quiet, but in the main the place was rocking. When the third and fourth went in people were dancing like their lives depended on it! Plenty of chants, plenty of atmosphere and goodwill - at least in the upper tiers there was. Yesterday was one of the only times I've been glad to live near the A3 rather than the M3 - drove straight up and back without even a sniff off traffic Left at 9am and I was there before 10.30. Parked up at Gerrards Cross and was surprised to see so many Saints fans at that specific station. Would definitely do the same again or go up the day before as the roads around Wembley looked like hell. COYR, onwards and upwards from here
Viking Warrior Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Well my travel arrangements may have been tiring to get to Wembley but yesterday was just fantastic, The result my fellow fans, the stadium etc was just brilliant. It was good to see Derry and Weston. I hope my singing didnt deafen you but hey it was fun. I missed the third Goal as I was still in the bar having bumped in to a couple of old squaddie mates I hadt seen for a few years, Went to the Green man afterwards for a few pints. that was fun with all the buzz and singing. I told some guy we had now qualified for the Picasso cup, (european paint trophy) and he belived me. Where were you Jillyanne? I was the one near the entrance with the painted striped face. All in all a fantastic day and even the carlisle fans were friendly So a great day for football. Im still on a high Ricky Lambert Goal machine

I have to say, we were better on Sky, than I thought we were yesterday, different perspectives!! On Sky we were brilliant, and all the pundits agreed that we were deserved winners.
Redbul Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Bit after the fact 'cos got in and went straight to the pub quiz....WHICH WE WON!!!! Had an absolutely fantastic day out yesterday. I don't care if people say 1-4 was flattering to us, it's still silverware in the cabinet (if the SMS caretaker can find the key....!!!!) and it's still a Saints win at Wembley. We did play a bit hoof and hope somtimes but our back 4 were immense. Not going to single any player out for praise 'cos it was a cracking team effort all round. This is the first season my youngest has had a season ticket; he's going to expect this all the time now!!!! Glad I'm not alone in admitting to misting up when we lifted the cup.... Thank you Markus and Alan, really enjoying the ride so far; long may it continue!!!!
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Wasn't overly bothered before the game - thought it would be good to win but not over excited by the whole JPT thing. Now it's been won, and emphatically, I am surprised to be so chuffed and to be feeling so positive about the whole season. Even if we miss the playoffs (and I'm pretty sure we will) I still think we've had a good season and I have much optimism (not misplaced overconfidence) that next season will see us in the top 2. hope those of you priviliged enough to be at Wembley really enjoyed it. God knows, as Saints fans you all deserve it.
Clifford Nelson Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Wembley; 50000 saints fans; we scored four goals and won the cup; even the weather was OK. Could it have been any better?
Jillyanne Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Well my travel arrangements may have been tiring to get to Wembley but yesterday was just fantastic, The result my fellow fans, the stadium etc was just brilliant. Im still on a high Ricky Lambert Goal machine I was in The Green Man before the game but headed straight home after as a friend was driving me and had to get back to his children. Lol'd at the Power Rangers in there, very brave.
RonManager Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Could it have been any better? Yes, the gorgeous woman sat opposite me on the train home could have looked up from her book and invite me home for sex. For some inexplicable reason, she didn't! Brilliant day out, brought back so many memories of '76 for me (I couldn't get a ticket for 2003), and the atmosphere was great, looking up at the masses from my seat in 134. For some reason, I wasn't nervous at all and the game panned out pretty much how I thought it would, (I had 5-0 in the prediction league)! Keep the Faith COYS
TUS Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Was worth getting stuck on the M1 for 2 hours. Got home at 1am.
Ponty Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I went mental when carlisle scored. Netted me 750 quid lol You weren't parked on some bloke's drive a 5 minute walk away were you? I was chatting to a guy when we went back to the cars who'd put a few quid on 4-1 at 25/1.
mcjwills Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Wembley; 50000 saints fans; we scored four goals and won the cup; even the weather was OK. Could it have been any better? Wembley could have sold us an additional 20K tickets.

dune Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Just got back, what a brilliant weekend. Great night out on Saturday followed by great day yesterday.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I thought this was a very good write up...and from a Carlisle paper too... http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/carlisle-united/match-reports/collin-and-keogh-shine-but-carlisle-utd-fall-short-against-southampton-1.689479?referrerPath=/1.49997
sadoldgit Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 I have only just seen the match this morning which is a bit bizare but did cheer up a wet Monday in Kent. Many congratulations to Alan Pardew and the team who did what they had to do. It was good to see us put the match away with some key players out. As AP inferred, it is not the FA Cup but we have still won a trophy at Wembley and this gives us something to solid to build on. Hopefully Mr Coreste now will support his manager and let him get on with his job. Even MLT was bigging him up saying that he is the best manager in our division. Whether he is or insn't he is still doing a good job and deserves the support of the fanbase and the senior management. If we don't make it this season we shall be a force next season. I just hope he stays!
marcussaint86 Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Great day for the club yesterday!! Just wondered, does anyone have or know anyone who has 2 spare tix to the Brighton game on Thursday??
Seaford Saint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Probably the best ever Footy related day I have ever had. So many Saints fans, such good humour.......fantastico.
Tac-tics Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Got to meet Manish and Clardige =/ yesterday, that bold matey who does the gimmicy crap on the FL Show who pretends to be every managers mate done my head in. Loved meeting some new Saints fans, breath taking photos which I think I will make a scrap book, maybe things to come ghey I know. Guys, we should be proud, fantastic support.
saint_stevo Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Great day for the club yesterday!! Just wondered, does anyone have or know anyone who has 2 spare tix to the Brighton game on Thursday?? might be able to get 4......?

Crass errors gifted us three goals (mind you the 4th was really neat) and they must regret playing that Murphy bloke because I'm sure that they could have found someone from their youth team who would have done a better job of replacing Livsey. Don't see how they made Rickie MOM though, only Harding and Antonio were serious candidates.
sadoldgit Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Indeed, just watched it again and recorded it. Might watch it again sometime !! Not sure who'd be MOM, however, Lambert seemed to be everywhere so he might just nick it but who really cares ! A very good TEAM performance, even with so many changes we looked confident and after the 1st I thought it was just a question of how many. I've been positive about the JPT all the way through and for 45,000+ Saints fans a day to rememeber shows we were right to take it seriously IMO. Agreed, it was a tremdous team performance but I would give the MotM award to Lambert as he was outstanding all round. Harding too played very well. He looks awkward playing on the right side and is very one footed, but he was excellent too.
Gordon Mockles Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Fantastic! Only huge down point being I missed the build up, first goal & first half hour & spent most of the match trying to unwind after becoming stressed to the max after being stuck on a train from Teddington that kept breaking down! An hour+ to Waterloo...WTF?! Great stadium. The whole of Wembley was almost unrecognisable from the few years that have passed since I worked there. New flats, finally finished the train bridge, arena roof, etc. What a good feel factor around the city. The locals looked a bit shocked although the landlord of our old local, The Green Man, must be still cashing up his pennies today! Our boys made me proud. Good coverage by The Sun (not my usual choice of paper, doubt many sold in Portsmouth today! Lol) on front & back covers - a poster! Wooo!!! Better coverage than bloody Radio One sport who didn't even acknowledge the game was on...tossers!

An hour+ to Waterloo...WTF?! Took 2 hours 20 to get there from soton central! and that was standing up the entire journey....but it made the atmopshere i guess, everyone just got on with it.

saint col in kent Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Awsome, a complete day out for fans and the club....I now need to get to a betfred to collect my 4-1, 25/1 winnings... and me...best day ever and 25 quid in the pocket
bpsaint Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Anybody else seen The Sun today? As its printed locally (Pompey of all places, bet that ****ed them off) they've done a commerative Saints edition with Lambert on the front. Never seen that from a national paper before so was chuffed when I saw it!
rooney Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Words cannot explain the enjoyment I had with my family at Wembley yesterday. I have been reliving the day again today via Sky and BBC I player. Magic.
RonManager Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Words cannot explain the enjoyment I had with my family at Wembley yesterday. I have been reliving the day again today via Sky and BBC I player. Magic. Perhaps you could try through the medium of mime or possibly roleplay using knitted characters?
Vershinin Posted 29 March, 2010 Posted 29 March, 2010 Was on coach 73 with some asbo's at the back. Harding, Mills, Lallana and Lambert, top class. Lost for words. Must say I was really annoyed at the part timers, especially the ***** who asked me to sit down when we was waiting for Lambert to hit the penalty. The atmosphere was okish, suppose its a tad hard if we're spread out. I feel for you m8. I was positive being up in 540 (the seats above the TV screens) that it was gona b a sit down fest and quiet but as far as i could see ours was the only block in the upper tiers that was stood for the whole game. In fact the only time i sat in my seat was when the stadium was nearly empty. I was ****ing thankful that by chance our whole block stood and sang. I just cant understand the mentality of someone who wants to sit down when their team is just about to take a penalty in a cup final at wembley. I hope you carried on standing.

Block 540 was great, me and 2 sons were front row, 2 lads stood most of game, me i have to take rests and have a seat. funny thing was one guy in row behind was so drunk he woke up at half time and asked by eldest lad "have we won" when there were no players on the pitch
