Pitch cut up badly at Wembley then.

Pitches are only cut up at kick off if there have been games on it. Wembley was re-turfed at the beginning of the month and hasn't been used since.

I thought it had been re-laid since the League Cup final because of the cutting up. Should be ok I would've thought.

I'm more concerned at getting rained on between pubs.

I seem to remember Southend away, absolutely torrential rain, flood outside the ground, badly cut up and slightly waterlogged pitch... We won 3-1! No excuses on Sunday.

Leicester fan at work keeps telling me that their under 13 girls team are playing in their cup final at 11:30 on Sunday. Hope they don't cut up the pitch too badly.

Cup Final weekend '76 was probably the worst of the whole scorching summer that year, I can't remember it being so bad at Wembley a few weeks later for the Charity Shield tho'.

 

League Cup Final '79, snowed all week, ZDS and Cardiff p*ssed it down most of the day...even rained the day Totton went to Wembley!

Forecast is getting better. Now improved to light rain, and looks like if may stay further south. Good news.
