Dog Posted 23 March, 2010 Author Posted 23 March, 2010 Can anyone else remember that Peters & Lee moment on TOTP ?
chrisobee Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 I remember Tony Blackburn making some stupid comment about the dark glasses copying the Roy Orbison "look" not realising Lennie Peters was actually blind.
Deppo Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 Seasons In The Sun is better than Welcome Home by a long chalk, Sonny Jim.
chrisobee Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 What ?? I find myself agreeing with you :smt102
Deppo Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 It's even better than your Val Doonican lps, Chris.
chrisobee Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 It's even better than your Val Doonican lps, Chris. You been rummaging through my drawers again ? I told you about that before !
norwaysaint Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 Terry Jacks would have beaten them at the dips and squat thrusts any day, I think he set the record.
chrisobee Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 TBH his brother Brian would have wiped the floor with all of them.
Kingsland Red Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 I heard when P&L split up, she walked into a recording contract and he walked into a lamp post. OK, I'll get my coat.
Redondo Saint Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 We had fun we had fun we had Palace on the run but the fun didn't last coz the bstds ran too fast. Terry Jacks wins it by a country mile!!!
Badger Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 We had fun we had fun we had Palace on the run but the fun didn't last coz the bstds ran too fast. Terry Jacks wins it by a country mile!!! Yeh,what terrace anthems have Peters&Lee been responsible for ?
Micky Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 Yeh,what terrace anthems have Peters&Lee been responsible for ? We probably could have done something along the lines of 'F u ck off home' to the blue few when they were up for the cup game... Perhaps one of our resident lyricists could come up with something along those lines...!

hamster Posted 24 March, 2010 Posted 24 March, 2010 Question for Dog. What prompted you to ask this question please? I am more and more frequently stopped in my tracks by musical coincidences and this one has really spooked me. Did you know that: A/ Peters and Lee's FIRST ever live performance was supporting Rolf Harris of 2 Little Boys fame. and...B/ Hartlepool United fans last night sung that very same song IN IT'S ENTIRITY!!!! Have you been sent here with a message for me Dog?
Wade Garrett Posted 27 March, 2010 Posted 27 March, 2010 Jacks was a Canadian one hit wonder. Peters and Lee were English, and appeared on classics such as Opportunity Knocks and Seaside Special. No competition. Next question, Peters and Lee or Bucks Fizz?...
Dog Posted 27 March, 2010 Author Posted 27 March, 2010 Bucks Fizz! You can't get into a birds knickers with Peters & Lee.
